Sitting apart from the town, overlooking it as the ground begins to slope upwards into the tall mountain of Nirvani Island, a mansion sits proudly and, as anyone who walks within a mile of the mansion will agree, rather haughtily. The entire place stinks of snobs and rightfully so as the inhabitants are none other than the Sonata family, ruling royals of the island – or so they like to believe. The private Sonata garden stretches out for several acres around the home, cutting off into a simple, flattened out field behind the mansion where the stables and handful of prized horses the mayor owns for personal enjoyment. That she had several years ago when riding a horse didn't make her break a nail, so now the horses are all fat and sluggish with the lack of exercise. They do remain bedazzled and pink, however, so they make excellent lawn ornaments.

The interior of the mansion is as gaudy as it ever was since Gaston was alive and head of the household, however, it is considerably more pink. Any and all paintings down the halls and within the rooms of the first floor vary depending on the hour of the day – at some points, it is depictions of Lilia and, on other days, visages of January. There is no sign of where the last collection of paintings may have gone, but, down the hall in the unused family room, the fireplace burns year round without a servant to stoke it.

The downstairs consists largely (and we put a heavy emphasis on the LARGE here) of a fully staffed kitchen, an extraordinarily long dining table, game room, family room, reading room, personal library, sitting room, torture room, indoor pool, dressing room, gift shop, drawing room, music room, and a handful of bathrooms for visitor use. Up the stairs, there is more bedrooms than one cares to count, seven of them dedicated to Lilia herself with a different color depicting what mood she is in of the day, though she normally stays in the rich and happy room twelve doors down the west hall. The others have their own bedrooms somewhere among the halls, a large baroque styled room with a second room connected to it serving as a closet is for January Sonata and who knows where Ferdinando sleeps? With his cousin hating his guts and his sister hounding for his attention, it's with prudence he keeps his personal room under the radar.

Date time! Date time! Yes, this would be absolutely perfect! After all, look at the lovely house where her date resided. Nothing but the best for Elizabeth Berry! Oh and how excited would her date be when he finally got to see her? She smiled as she continued towards the stables to finally meet her date. He certainly could have picked a better meeting spot, but there wasn't much Elizabeth could do about that. Perhaps she'd just advise him to choose better next time. "I'm here~" Elizabeth announced as she entered the stable. Her smile quickly faded to a look of disgust, those horses did not smell pleasant. At least the horses themselves were kind of pretty to look at, though that didn't really help too much. Elizabeth really hoped they'd be leaving the stables soon. Surely someone who lived in such a wonderful house had better ways to pass the time than in here.

((Sorry it's so short. I'll try to write more in the next post. DON'T HATE ME.))

After the most humiliating day of Lilia's life ever, the blonde had been throwing fit after fit up in her room, refusing to leave and do any of the stupid mayor duties that her fiance should be doing for her. That was what husbands were for! That was the only good part about having one assigned to her, after all! That she would be continued to be treated like the goddess she was even after daddy passed away, but, no, stupid Ferdinando was still in high school and couldn't be botherrrreed. It made her sick that she had to deal with gross, stupid, mean, murderous men all her life. She sat at her vanity table with a scowl wrinkling her pretty face, her hair being brushed by a plump little maid just behind her. It helped her mood a little to be able to throw snotty comments back at the blimp while she debated on what color lipstick she should wear that day.

It was Valentine's day, which meant she had a true gentleman waiting for her down in the stables. She was dressed in her very favorite dress of the day (a full, rosy skirt with a v-neck that was perfect for showing off all of her natural bust), but she couldn't really bother to get up early enough to see the commoner who would have all his dreams come true down at the garden. For one, she was scared to show her face after what happened at the harbor. Secondly, she was certain she would cause a riot as she sprayed on the latest scent in her personal line of perfume – Lilia in Paris. Yes, it was really for the town's good that she kept her involvement in the festival between her and her lucky date.

Feeling it was about time to head down, she rolled back her chair without warning, alarming the maid into tripping backward. She paused to giggle at the sight before flipping her hair and leaving the room, heading down and out of the mansion to start for the stables set behind the mansion. It didn't take her long before she reached the stables, though she had to pause to wrinkle her nose at the smell of the place. Ugh, she would have to talk to whoever was in charge of the stables! Stupid, incompetent peasants.. She was just opening the door when she saw the girl now! Or who she presumed was the one on stable-duty – peasants always did look the same to her. “You! Are you stupid? Why are you just standing around?” She demanded as she marched forward, stopping in front of the shorter with a scowl, “Get started! We have an image to keep up, you know, and I can't have brainless help wrecking my date.

Now who was this woman barging in the stables, while Elizabeth was waiting for her date. Did she live here? Was she the mayor or something? Either way, she had a lot of nerve talking to her like that. No, Elizabeth would not stand for it. "Your date? I'm waiting for my date," Elizabeth corrected the woman, "And for your information, I don't work here." she finished. Really? To think that she'd work in a smelly old place like this, why that woman must be insane! Maybe she was just trying to find some extra work, whoever was supposed to be cleaning the stables obviously wasn't doing a very good job. This image that needed to be kept up, could use a lot of work from how Elizabeth saw it.

She looked the woman over, wondering when she'd take her leave and when her real date would finally arrive. "Anyway, your date isn't here," of course, hers wasn't either but that was beside the point. Ugh, that matchmaker lady probably messed it up, sending her date elsewhere and not to her. She'd have to go talk to that woman later. Her mistakes should be addressed, how dare she mess up people's Valentine's Day. "Stupid matchmaking lady," Elizabeth mumbled to herself. Whatever, she'd just deal with that later. She looked back to the blonde woman, "My date's not here either, if that makes you feel any better," she stated, obviously annoyed. "I think it's that matchmaker's fault, I bet she told them to go to the wrong place," she explained her guess. She may as well talk to someone, and if this woman was indeed mayor she'd probably be able to do something about this issue. Even if she was silly enough to mistake Elizabeth for a stable worker, she still possibly had a position of power, and that was enough for the time being.

Left in the mail box is a flier.

"To the guardian(s) of January Sonata, Grade 12.

The schoolhouse has come under new management and, with it, a new name. To celebrate this, we will be holding a festival on Fall 1st. I hope you can come and join us, please, it would be nice if you could do it. You can meet your child(ren)'s teacher, Mr. Pearson, and even some of the other staff! If you want to, that is, please don't force yourself if you can't make it. We understand, even if I think your child would benefit a lot more if you decided to come with them and spend this quality time. Children need a lot of quality time to be happy.

Please come and volunteer if you want to.

...Or Elizabeth had been told right and this was actually where her date was to meet her. Which would mean that it was either one of the dirty servants or.. Ferdinando. Lilia's eyes narrowed; how could he?! Joining in on this stupid event when he already had her..! Lilia didn't understand – would never, ever understand why her father had thought that stupid Ferdinando would be a good husband when he was already thinking about cheating on her! Men were supposed to shower their wives with gifts and parties, not cheat! That was the wife's job!

She grit her teeth before snagging up the girl's hand, “Yes, so we should go find them! Now!” Her own date could wait, after all, she had Ferdinando's date to ruin! Besides, he would probably just be some stupid commoner anyway. “To – urgh.” Oh, God, just what did she think she was doing? She dropped the hand like it had burned her and quickly wiped it off on her dress. Commoner germs – ew. But she had to lead her around somehow.. She glanced at the fat, pink horses she had and snapped her fingers, a servant running from seemingly nowhere to begin to saddle up the horse she looked at. Ah, the magic of NPC servants~! She opened one of the stables and hopped onto Pink-Lace-Sparkle-Muffin, “Climb on.

Elizabeth watched as the woman got her servant to bring out a big, pink horse. Did she really expect Elizabeth to get on one of those smelly things? Sure they were all pretty and pink, but that wouldn't fool her! No, she would not give in! "Eh, I'm gonna pass," she told the woman. "Besides, if our dates were worth our time, they would've gotten things sorted out earlier," Elizabeth explained. She certainly didn't want a date who couldn't correct this mistake himself. Mistake correcting was a man's job, not hers. "It's their loss anyway, so I'm just gonna go back home." she said as she turned away from the stables, and headed off towards the direction of her own house. Whether the lady decided to go search for her date, was all up to her. It was probably a waste of time, but Elizabeth didn't really care what the lady decided to, and so, away she went, leaving Lilia to her own devices.

Well, there she was, standing in front of the mayor's mansion. She didn't know much about them, other than what she saw in the request. The tone was less than pleasant, but Paige had nothing better to do, so why not take on a request? Okay, so she did have better things to do, she could be at home practicing; but sill, she couldn't pass a request like this up! A masquerade meant dancing, and if there was one thing Paige was passionate about dancing was it! It was her job, after all. If no one helped, the masquerade might not happen, and that would mean no dancing, and no dancing meant she couldn't show off her skills. As a new resident of Nirvani she wanted her neighbors to know just how skilled she was. No, she wouldn't orally brag about her talent, but she would happily show off! And so, that's how Paige came to accept this request. She stood around for a bit, looking up at the enormous house. Well, she couldn't stand around forever. It was time to meet this mayor. She continued toward the mansion's entrance, ringing the doorbell once she got there. She half expected to be met by a team of servants, but that would be ridiculous. Things like that didn't actually happen.

Meeting a team of servant, did you? What about meeting ten teams of servants! As soon as Paid rang the bell, that the two giants doors opens and at least 200 NPC servants stormed out, picked her up and dragged her inside! "What's this?" asked one of them. "What's this!?" yelled another! It was as if they had never seen another human in their life! Which... frankly, could be true. Knowing the Sonata, it wouldn't be much surprised if they raised servants from births. In fact, they probably did. "There isn't any colour anywhere!" Complained the first one. "I swear saw some whites in her hair!" another one said as at least twenty of them fainted from the sheer thought of having grey hair on a guess of the family. "What's this? I can't believe my eyes, I must be dreaming! Wake up, Jack This isn't fair!" The green speaking NPC servant rushed to one who had fainted, trying to get him back to his factory settings.

"WHAT'S THIS?" Suddenly, a loud music made itself hear and some doors burst open! Leading a literal orchestra behind him, Reinbach chimed in the room, singing and/or yelling (it was hard to tell) at the sight of his fainted servants and the random stranger in his house. "What's this? There's something very wrong.... What's this!? There's people who aren't singing songs!" He looked very offended at that thought, bringing a very feminine hand to his chest and opening his mouth wide in surprise. "What's this?", he turned around to look at the stairway in a very obfuscated manner. "The rails aren't lined with little creatures (he meant servants) laughing, yet everyone seems so happy? Have I possibly gone daffy? What is this? WHAT IS THIS?" He frown toward the gathering of NPC servants, including Paige, flailing his arms around. "There's servants fainting 'round, instead of throwing heads! Lilia is busy gossiping, and absolutely no one is dead!"

Only then did he noticed that Paige was more than your given NPC servants. Not that he cared much, but at least he knew she wasn't part of his usual slaves servants. He half run on the point of his toes to her, pushing servants out of his way as he did so. "What's this?" He asked aloud as he grabbed her by the shoulder. "They got a little girl, how queer! And who would ever think of that, and why?" had the servants started to reproduce without his permission? He would need to look into it... later. "Quick! Cover her with tiny little things and put on some electric lights on strings! Now I want to see a smile on everyone and correct me if I'm wrong, but this masquerade will be fun! It will be fun! Oh, could it be I got my wish?" Ah, yes. No one would ever suspect him in trying to kill his niece at a masquerade! Those were fun activities! No one suspected them. Ever! "Now, get to work."

Oh, so there really was a team of servants. A really big team of servants actually. So she was wrong, things like that did actually happen. She would have introduced herself to the large group, but before she could do so she was picked up and greeted with a musical number. It certainly was impressive service these people were doing here, she had never seen anything like it in her entire life. Okay, so it was kind of weird getting picked up by random people, but she figured it served some kind of purpose. Maybe some type of island culture? She didn't really know, but that was alright.

Once she was set on the floor, a rather flamboyant man appeared to finish the song. From his appearance alone, she could tell that he wasn't one of the servants. Was he the mayor? Or a relative of the mayor? Well whoever he was, he was singing about the masquerade so it must've been him who had the request. She hadn't paid much attention to the rest of what he sang, but masquerade was a word she was able to pick out. She stayed quiet until the man finished, and then stated her reason for coming, "I'm here for the masquerade request." She looked up at him, "What kind of work is it you need to get done?" She wasn't sure why all the servants couldn't do whatever it was, but she was happy to help if it meant a masquerade. Hopefully the people on this island knew their ballroom dancing, because be needing a partner.

Ah, yes, going out on quite a nice note! Chrysanthemum went to the Sonata Mansion, happy to visit the one Sonata who seemed to actually have the intelligence to utilize their status properly – Ferdinando Sol-Natta. She stopped her sleigh of snowy owls and happily passed through the garden on her own, happy as can be to see all the beautiful plants taken care of properly before she gracefully entered the mansion. She paused every so often to admire the rich, eccentric tastes of the Sonatas before going to the young man's bedroom so she could finish up and head to the hot-tub home to her shrine. She hummed happily at the boy, but.. but she couldn't exactly say she was all that pleased with him this year. After all, she hadn't seen much of him at all! He simply seemed to lounge about his mansion with one small attempt of a party or something of that nature, though it felt more for his uncle than anyone. Still, such privilege had to be rewarded, so she left a fine burgundy robe at his bedside and left to go have a nice relaxing soak~ ♥

The last house of the evening was the most amazing of them all! Not only did she have three lovely people to visit here, but come on, look at the size of that mansion! Orchid had been here time and time again and it always felt just as amazing as the last. Even though some things hadn't changed, she found herself in total awe of them. This mansion was just spectacular! There was truly nothing like it on the island. She quickly zoomed up and down the halls, taking her time to admire the wonderful views as she went by. The first room that she stopped in belonged to January! This girl had it all! She was practically royalty and yet she didn't have to do hardly any of the work. Well, not that any of them ever did much work. That was what made them all so wonderful! They had the right idea. All of these luxurious things and all the time in the world to spend admiring them! Though, Orchid had to admit that she was a little disappointed in January's public appearances. Orchid fully understood the horrors that January must have felt on the Beach when that peasant had practically assaulted her. So, she would have to forgive her for not wanting to go out after that. She just better see her this next year, preferably at her shrine. Orchid made her way to the luxurious end table and placed a small box containing the most luxurious of ribbons. Next to this box, was an envelope containing a letter addressed to January Sonata.

Next on the list was Lilia! She was a wonderful and powerful girl, and Orchid sure was proud! Though, she did wish that she had gotten to see that lovely face a little more. Sure, watching that day had been fun... but she needed more! She knew that Lilia didn't need a man, but it would be so much fun to watch! For now, she would have to settle on sitting back and hoping. Maybe if Lilia would venture up the hill and come see her, they could talk about all of this! The mountain wasn't even very far from here! Orchid let out a sigh and flew over to Lilia's end table where she placed a small box containing a charm bracelet. Next to this, she dropped an envelope addressed to Lilia Sonata. Ah, now there was only one person to go! Stocking Day was going by too fast!

Finally, she ventured off to find Reinbach. Orchid was certain that she had not seen Reinbach out of the mansion all this year. That was a whole lot of time and no Reinbach. That was a bit disappointing. She used to enjoy all of his crazy antics and now she was forced to just sit back and wait? She hated waiting! She knew that there was supposed to be some sort of party, but nothing had ever come of it. Reinbach would really need to get himself together and that's exactly what she told him in his letter. She still had to admit that she absolutely loved his room and couldn't possibly stay angry at him while she was in it! She flew over to his end table and placed a large ruby along with a letter made out to Schtolteheim Reinbach. With that done, she flew out of the house and made her way towards the Mountain Top. She deserved a nice good rest after all of that work.

~NEW DAY~

You sure you asked before..?” Brian stopped, inwardly cursing himself for breaking the silence he had magically managed to maintain during the walk towards the Sonata mansion. Of course, it helped that they were riding bikes the entire way to the monstrosity that was the mayor's family home, but he had sort of expected the hyperactive 'woman' to scream a one-sided conversation on the way over. Instead, she had simply encouraged a race as she sped past him, winding the both of them as they made their way through the courtyard to the front gates on foot. It was when they had stopped in front of the double doors, the boy's hands shoved in his pockets as he watched the redhead ring the doorbell so fast he couldn't count the number. The noise of the bell ringing had placated Mimi, but Brian opening his stupid mouth had immediately unleashed the floodgates of the most annoying neighbor anyone could hope for.

O-M-G, I've said that like A BILLION times that I totally asked her and it is so weird that you keep asking me if I did or not! Are you deaf, Brian? Omigawd, I can't believe it, are you really, because that would explain so much like how you never hear me in the morning before school, or how you like seem to always hang up the phone after I call because I was wondering and I thought I was doing something wrong but it turned out you just heard NOTHING! Wait, but don't you talk to other people and I don't think you know sign language – you know, I know it, because Mama said it was good to learn how to talk when you couldn't use your mouth just in case I got kidnapped – see?” She proceeded to flail her hands in a speedy series of what Brian was guessing to be ASL, but he was still sort of stuck on the first fifty words she had said or.. whatever, he couldn't call that speaking. The boy would honestly be surprised if Mimi ever found someone who could stand her for longer than five minutes.

After a few more beats of Mimi continuing her conversation with her hands, Brian decided to respond, if only to be polite. “...'Kay.” That was all Mimi needed before she gave him a big smile and rang the doorbell one more time for good measure, gabbing about how excited she was to get this party started and wondering who was going to show up. Brian really hoped it would be more than just him, Mimi, and January, because, wow, he wouldn't survive the night.

Kasie was inwardly screaming the whole way on her walk to the mansion. While she saw the placewho wouldn't!? every time she stepped out, she never had the chance to actually look at what's inside, but that wasn't what mattered! After all, this was her first time to ever be invited to a slumber party. Even if it was from a former classmate she rarely talked to actually, she didn't talk to a majority of her classmates., it was so exciting! After all, this would give her the chance to chat with them!

As she practically dragged her bag most of which was filled with lovely snacks that Chloe had given to her over, Kasie caught sight of two of her previous classmates. She beamed, waving at the two with her free hand.

Well, the invitation was incredibly tacky, but who was Elizabeth Berry to pass up a chance to go inside and stay the night in that big beautiful mansion that the mayor lived in! Plus, wasn't there a boy who lived here, if she remembered correctly? Because that one time she had come here in hopes of her valentine date the girl who lived here said it must have been her fiancé. Okay, so if there was a guy he had a fiancé, but hey, it's not like he was married yet! That meant there was still time! Well, if he was attractive, of not Elizabeth would just have to find some other guy with an even better house! Only the best for Elizabeth Berry!

Upon arriving to the mansion, Elizabeth saw that there were already a few others gathered around. Oh, they were all just people she knew from class. No handsome mystery mansion owning boy, how sad. Well, at least that meant she knew the people here. There was that one boy from class, and that one girl who talked a lot, and oh Callie! That was her name right? She liked Callie, because well, Callie called her pretty that one time.
