I really liked this idea I saw elsewhere and wanted to introduce it here!

Unleash your creativity with these two sentences as the starting of your story...

Just another normal day when a boy/girl is having his/her lunch at the school's cafeteria. He/she looks out of the window and sees dark clouds everywhere...

You don't have to have an ending... just write however you want...(romance, school, fantasy, tragedy... etc). It can be just a few sentences, paragraphs, the whole story... etc (this is not about continuing other people's paragraph... it's your own new story every post). If you run out of ideas half-way... just skip a part and continue where you have your ideas on. You can write more than once... but try to get 1 story/idea in 1 post. State the type of story you're writing as in romance, school, ect.

Just wanna read different kinds of stories from people.

OOC chatter about stories/posts here.
Please keep this thread clean o u o

School | Romance

Just another normal day when a boy is having his lunch at the school's cafeteria. He looks out of the window and sees dark clouds everywhere. He was pretty sure that this was some kind of personal bad omen that he was hallucinating. Devin had been doing that often over the summer. He’d yet to decide if it was because the amount of alcohol he’d imbibed weekly, or even daily, was finally just using his brain as tissue to wipe its a** with, because that’s what it felt like. That was okay, he’d fix it. He could fix this.

Helios was about to stuff his phone back in to his pocket as someone named Carlos called to him. He felt it vibrate in his hand but ultimately shoved the phone back into his pocket. He liked Carlos, they played tennis together on occasion and Carlos gave him an excuse to bend someone over. Of course, that was something that he'd pretty much guaranteed that Carlos wouldn't say anything about. It wasn't being mean, it was just... like insurance. But Carlos was cool, and Carlos understood at least. Besides, it'd only been like twice – so far. The guy tended to listen, even though it wasn't that hard to see him almost tripping over himself for Helios' attention, and he was someone that tended to try to avoid fights. If anything, Carlos was his 'fun breaks' and would try to keep Helios from going too far with picking fights or with otherwise causing trouble. Not like Helios didn't know his limitations already, but he supposed that every group needed at least one of those people. Carlos did get a lot of mess for it though. Last year alone, the guy had been called a snitch so many times it was ridiculous. If there was one thing that Carlos didn't do, it was snitch. The guy would leave the situation or try to get people to stop, but if it came down to it, it was either leave or stay and do some damage control. “Hey. We didn't get to hang out all break. How was your summer?” Carlos gave Helios a light handshake.

Helios grinned. “My parents wanted to visit family all break, so I was out of the state most of the summer. I didn't really get much time to myself.” He gave a half annoyed shrug and shoved his hands in his pockets. “Besides that, I did get to leave the country for a little while to visit grandparents and stuff in Europe. Not like I had a choice in the matter. And when I wasn't gone, it was football practice.”

Carlos laughed. “At least you got to go somewhere, man. I was stuck here the whole time. Didn't get a Senior trip or anything.”

“Well hey, going to the other side of town to the lake can totally count as a trip.”

“I don't think that counts.” the mexicano chuckled.

“It does too, depending on how much you're usually under house arrest.”

“Okay, well I at least get out more than that.”

Helios turned and started to walk around the pond, Carlos following. “I would hope so, because being stuck in a house all day would drive me insane.” Not counting when you were stuck in the house for sexual reasons. That was totally legitimate. Carlos started talking about the rest of his summer and though Helios was at least half listening, his mind had gone down the road of memories. Most of them were of Dev, and after the sixth “It's not like we have to go anywhere today, it's ******** break and I'm off work for one in a bazillion years -” he dropped that train of thought. Mostly because bad stuff came with good stuff too and whenever he thought about it he kept coming around to the question of 'Is it worth another try?'. Granted, it'd only been, what... six-ish months since they'd broken up. He turned to Carlos with a smile and fully tuned back in at “- hopefully we'll get to go to state this year. Last year's team wasn't that great.”

“But you guys have been practicing the whole summer, so I'm sure you guys are getting better.” He'd remembered that much from Carlos' summer adventure. “Yeah, we'll just have to see though. It's the freshmen I'm more worried about.” Helios nodded to that. They had some freshmen coming onto the football team too. Speaking of football, Carlos asked about it, so Helios decided to think on it. They'd have to assign positions to those that have moved up a grade, and backup positions to the newbies. Of course, all of the freshmen and about half of the sophomores were going to be swearing up and down that they could do this or that and try to show how great they were. Between himself as the runningback, Zander as the quarterback, and three others, they'd have to get together to talk that out. Football practice had really been getting serious within the last month before school had started. They'd had a good 30 freshmen come to watch them practice almost everyday, and Helios had to say, a good half of them were cocky sons of bitches. He had his doubts on whether most of them could deliver what they said they could. Ugh, and let's not even get started on that whole mess when the social classes were taken into account. “There's going to be a lot of disappointed freshmen this year. We can't take everybody.” he said, finally answering Carlos' question. They were on the other side of the pond now and Carlos had started talking about a girl that he hoped to hook up with this year. Susie, he said her name was. Who the ******** was Susie? Susie G? Cause I've totally slept with her already. She doesn't seem his type though. Susie M? He kicked a rock into the bluegreen waters of the pond as Carols mentioned Susie Mendoza. Hm, s'what he figured.

Carlos paused mid sentence as a girl came up to touch Helios' arm. He turned and glanced over her with a smile. ”Hey. Well I've only been here four years of my life.” He said in a playful tone. “Name's Helios.” He motioned his head to Carlos. ”And this is Carlos.” Who gave a polite nod of the head. To her mention of a bad memory, Helios shrugged. ”Don't worry about it. It happens. And your name is...?” He gave a motion toward the cafetorium.

Somewhere between outside and going inside to the cafeteria he remembered Brooke. Yeah, he'd barely seen her all summer too. No doubt that they'd soon have one of her meetings about the status of the relationship. He briefly came back around to Dev at the mention of relationships, but just as quickly moved on to another train of thought. For instance, needing to talk to the coach about his schedule this semester. He tried not the be the exception so much, but the coach could at least respect Helios decision not to rely solely on football to get him into college. Unlike about 3/4's of the current team. And the cheerleaders... well, he didn't even want to start on that. Out of the need for a break in the norm of the summer though, he'd caught up on what the gradated cheerleaders were doing now. Out of the 10 that gradated, 2 went to college, 1 has a pretty nice job for right now, and 6 are pregnant. Coincidence? I think not. Of course, upon finding out that that many had been pregnant, he had to review his mental film reels to insure that none of them were his. God forbid some s**t like that popping up. His parents would go berserk. And the only reason he was still living with this parents was because his mom was 'heartbroken' to know that he didn't even want to live at home for the last year of high school, especially when he'd be leaving for college anyway. She also assured him that he was most definitely allowed to go to a college within the city limits and that it was also perfectly fine to go to one that was only an hour's drive – because there were plenty of those too. Boy, she was going to be really heartbroken to know that he was totally leaving the state to travel to the other side of the country for college. He cold only hope that Brooke was not going to the same place. However, as far as he knew, she was aiming for Yale, or something like it. Helios hadn't completely narrowed down his list of colleges yet, but he'd definitely decided that he didn't want to stay in the state. Then again, his mom would fly cross country – because it's not like money was a problem – to visit him.

As he entered the cafeteria, he remembered that he'd gotten a text message and pulled his phone out of his back pocket to check said message to keep himself from still wondering about the 'What's Dev gunna do?' question that had cropped up. He gave a polite apology to Alarice before he replied to the message.

To: AMB
From: Spitfire

I'm headed to the cafeteria. There's people I haven't talked to all summer, so imma catch up as much as possible. You can come get it if you want princess.

More names, of course, but it didn't provide a long enough distraction to keep his mind from wandering back over to Devin. Alarice wasn't helping as much as he'd hoped she would. Even as he was greeted by another small group of guys and gals and Helios sat at their table, inviting Alarice to join them, he couldn't help the short films of lazy afternoons, long nights, and interesting mornings that were demanding his attention. They all seemed so ordinary, well... Helios tried to view them as ordinary and so-so.

They'd used the video game excuse again for Helios to sleep over at Dev's place last night. Helios parents had been doing something formal and had wanted Helios there, but the guy claimed that there was a tutor coming over at Dev's place and that they still had a few levels to a game they were determined to beat. Some skipped responsibilities later, Helios and Dev did in fact play some XBOX, made some pasta, and completely took advantage of the fact that Devin's parents weren't going to be home for the rest of the night – for whatever reason. They hadn't particularly cared why. If anything, it meant that Dev didn't have to muffle himself since that parentals were gone. That was one of Helios' fav reasons. However, it was always the morning after that held the most interest. Helios breathed in as he woke up, pulling the warmth of Dev's back further against his face. For a moment, his brain questioned what had gone on, but the scent of it hung in the air like a long lasting scented candle. He almost missed it, considering that he'd grown so use to the sensory input he received. The sun hadn't even started peaking over the horizon yet, though it was brightening the sky. He sighed to himself, half willing himself to go back to sleep and half willing Dev to wake up – neither of which were going to happen because it was about 5:30am. Really, his body's alarm clock could pick better times to wake up than 5:30am. In hopes of being somehow wrong, he turned his face away from the warm spot on the fleshy back that was serving as his pillow to look around the room for the digital readout of a clock. Upon finding that it was indeed the time he was hoping that it wasn't, he curled his face into Dev's back again, using an arm wrapped around the other's waist to pull him closer. He remembered thinking that he needed to pass the time, that he needed to get up anyway, that Dev had to go to work tomorrow, that Dev's parents wouldn't be back until the late afternoon. There were some other things that had run through his head at the time, but the last one was that Dev was hot and that it was completely necessary to darken the marks from last night and even out the number. It was these last couple of thoughts that lead him to seeking out the darkened patches on Dev's skin and making them darker. From the back of Dev's neck, to his shoulders, all the way down his back. Helios had even found a few on the male's thigh he didn't remember making, but made the marks more permanent anyway. At some point, Devin had mumbled something and squirmed around, managing to turn over before he was sleep again. And thus began the game of 'how much can I do before Dev is really awake'? He'd made mental talleys in his head for that one, and considering that Dev's brain functions didn't even spark to half use in the mornings, it almost felt like cheating.

It kind of really made him miss Dev, and yet Helios still tried to clear his mind and keep focused on the conversation at hand about the some of the combined classes for this year. There were too many students enrolled in advanced classes to cut the classes altogether, and there was no way that any of the normal classes would be cut at all. The result was a frankenstein of a class in which half of the class was merely given a direction and a goal and allowed to pretty much teach themselves, while the other half of the class was treated like normal.

- his hands slid up Dev's arms as his mouth trailed up the male's neck -

If anything, it made Helios' job a tad easier. He wouldn't have to physically go to a separate class to get the work he needed to do.

- their kiss was deep and long, with an almost lazy passion that only teens would know. Like summer memories when everything seemed so vivid and colorful, and yet everyday was relaxed. Their fingers interlaced on the pillow above Dev's head, and even then, the guy was simply reacting, not really awake -

There were also apparently some overflow kids from another high school here. Sucked for them, but he'd heard something about one of the other high schools doing some construction work to expand the school. They hadn't been able to get it all done over the summer as planned due to unforeseen issues, and so were forced to have to continue construction through the fall.

- he moved again and Dev mumbled something still only half coherent and most of it left his flushed lips in a breathy moan -

Did Arianna text him back yet? He wondered what was on the menu for lunch today. Did he have his calculator in his car for finance today? He'd found out from a friend that graduated at the end of the year that the finance class hopped on that s**t from the first day, and to be prepared to have homework already. But that was college. They didn't sit and read the syllabus on the first day of class, they assumed that since you made it that far in the first place, that you could read and figure things out for yourself.

- Dev's back arched off the bed, face flushed -

Where they going to add more parking this year? They kept saying that they were going to.

- hands gripping Helios' flexed biceps -

When did the topic of conversation change to the best beaches for a gradation trip? Where did Mexico come in? What part of Mexico where they planning to go to? Why were they planning this early? Who does that? His responses weren't out of place and his demeanor didn't portray his current mental issue, and he kept a smile on his face. Thankfully, some part of his brain was keeping up with things and coming up with answers.

– a breathy cry of Helios' name -

GODDAMMIT. Helios sighed exasperatedly and lightly hit his head against the table, garnering the attention of the other table attendees. It was well timed enough to garner a laugh from them as they had assumed that his reaction was for the mention of himself and Brooke on the beach, and the passing comment someone made about sex on the beach and getting sand in places it was never meant to be. Helios lifted his head with a grin before he got up to go buy himself a soda and have an excuse to walk. Okay, so their breakup had been instigated by him, but it had still been for the most part mutual. In lieu of what his mind was holding him hostage on, he couldn't remember all of the reasons why they'd broken up. He did know that there had been yelling involved for the first third of it, and fist fighting for the second third.

- “Ah. ********!” -

Well, son of a b***h. Fine. If he apparently was not going to win this one today, he mind as well stop fighting it. A grin had unknowingly slipped onto Helios' face when he'd been able to place who was behind him, even if his mind figured that they should not be this happy or excited about anything. But he had to admit, he'd missed Dev. He turned around in the man's hold and almost wrapped his arms around Dev's waist to pull him closer – though it would have been purely an auto-action. Instead, he slipped his drink into his bag, gently moved Dev's arm's off of him, and to keep his own hands otherwise preoccupied, he slipped them into own pockets. “The summer wasn't that long Dev. It's not like we hadn't seen each other in a year or something.” He smirked. Did he mention his current urge to kiss? He needed more a distraction than this. Really. Bri suddenly showing up with her arms around Dev almost helped, if not for the intimidate thought of a threesome that crossed his mind. Today just might be a losing day. “Should I ask what you've preoccupied yourself with?” Though Helios was honestly curious.

... Do they make Scrubbing Bubbles for your mind?
