Run away and hide......run away and hide......
The thought became the tempo in his hooves as Buffalo-Kin dashed through the deep woods, avoiding trees as easily as though they weren't there, but unable to avoid the occasional leaf that grazed his deep crimson hide or leaped out to hitch a ride in his forest-fire mane. He wasn't honestly sure if he was in any real danger, but once the thought had taken him, he had found himself running, swiftly and as silently as he could, bee-lining to a destination that only his legs seemed to know. He was always a bit on guard wherever he went, and if his instincts told him to run, he ran. Even if there was nothing to fear this time around, at least it was good practice; a chance to hone his running skills and making sure that if the need did arise, he could always evade whoever or whatever sought to catch him.

He finally skidded to a stop among a thick cluster of bushes, a place where he knew there was a path nearby. He knew that the tiny clearing just ahead was a favorite spot for travelers in the woods to relax for a little while; the sun shone through the leaves overhead in a very pleasing manner, and the trees were perfectly arranged for tired backs to lean against and soft heather for resting weary hooves. Stretching his arms and legs, BK chose to settle down in the midst of the bushes rather than the clearing; the sunlight made him shine like a beacon, and he wasn't about to walk out in the open until he was properly rested and ready to dash off once more.
