He really did NOT want to go in to that cave. It was... dark. And smelt funny. Did he forget to mention itwasdark?

He had barely been 'awakened' from that pod like thing for what felt like two seconds, in reality it was more like 20 minutes. Some would say thats a eternity feeling, he said it was too damn quick. He winced as his head suddenly hurt, remembering what was inside that pod.

And then they just had to mention it was either the cave or the pod... Red Pill or Blue pill... Cave of Wonders or back to the dream.

With a gulp he clamped his teeth together. He would rather live in the reality than the lie. That thought in mind, he closed his eyes and took a step forward. Though his mind screamed at him later, something about 'dumbass THERES STAIRS you'll FALL' caused him to actually open them, and stare down the abyss as she looked back.

The stairs were slippery, worn. Almost as if countless people have traveled this road. Maybe they have... or maybe Quinn was just looking for a reason to go back. Back to what though? He had given up his family for this, to find why. His always growing curiosity was at constant battle with his fear. One half of his mind said YES JUMP, the other half was constantly reminding him the probability of coming out alive. It was enough to give the man a headache. The current debate going on within his mind though was.... was this cave near the ocean? It smelt like water all around him. No, not just water. It also smelt of salt, of fish... somehow if 'cold' was given a scent, he would imagine it was there too. Strange, the second he thought about 'cold' was when he realized just how cold he really felt.

Though oddly enough, his breath was not showing. He felt as if i should, being as cold as it felt.

THUNK.

"Whatwasthat." He jumped, doing a bit of a twist in the same momentum. Breathing heavily, he realized that the noise was....him actually reaching the bottom of the slippery staircase. Oh. Oh yeah... hey its just a room. With odd shiny things on the wall. The closer he peered, the more he had a odd sensation that something was watching him. On instinct he looked around, watching to see if anyone else was there. It was a small room though... just a 10x10. What else could be here?

"Quinn." A shivver ran down his spine, feeling once more as if he was being watched. Not only that... but he had a distinct feeling as if he was being hunted.

One of the runes on the wall seemed....brighter? It was strange that this light seemed to reel him in. His feet did the moving next, closing the distance enough to place his palm over that rune. Like a fly to the zapper, he couldn't halt the movement. Frankly though, for once, his mind seemed to agree with this choice.

"You are mine."
