"We should build another here, to the east of the town. It's the perfect area to expand production." Ifan, pointed his finger to a space on the map Nisha had constructed of the town, pantheon and surrounding area. With all the rebuilding taking place the need to move beyond the primitive workshops set up by many on arrival was becoming desperate.
"There would be room for a sizable forge, glassmakers, we could fit a warehouse in too perhaps."

The Smith, a large, muscular man covered in soot and sweat, stood over the map with his hands on his hips, he could not deny the need to expand was pressing but there was little room around the forge as homes and other small workshops had grown up around it.
"That could work, we could keep the workshops here for artisan pieces, move mass production to the east. How long would this new forge take to build?"

"A month, two at the most. The brickworks are going flat out. We can redirect some of the bricklayers and carpenters to get it done quicker."

Toshi was out walking, further than he had been in some time from the pantheon. East was the rising sun and he wanted this to be new and fresh as the morning. He was looking for a place to have his people- what few he had- start building a dojo. None of them were with him at the moment and it would be a much better place to teach them. It would also remind them of the discipline they needed to practice. As it was most showed up, but there were others who had not come regularly. A building with instructors just for them might do that.

*You really think this will help their discipline? They can avoid this as much as anything else. A place does not matter.* the dragon king stated. *If they want to avoid, they will. And this is further out.*

*This is what they need.* Toshiro replied with surity. *A place away from everything else. If I had my way it would be on top of a mountain and even harder to reach. Then those who made it there would be far more worthy to be taught.*

When he noted the other two men, Toshiro hesitated. This direction was where he had wanted to build the dojo but perhaps he would have to look in a new direction. He had not meant to eavesdrop but at the mention of building, he froze. "Excuse me," he said, bowing. "Did I hear you say you were building here?" He glanced around the area. He would move further on, perhaps.

Ifan, lost in thought and conversation had not realised that they had company, until it spoke of course. He looked up and gave the dark haired man an easy smile.
"You did. We are planning to build some workshops here, well, less workshops more factories I suppose. Is there a problem?"

"Shouldn't be." The Smith said, folding his arms across his large chest. "It's free land."
PostPosted: Mon Jun 17, 2013 6:49 am

"No. Of course not. Forgive me if it sounded that way," he said, bowing to both. "I merely wanted to be certain that you were. The plans for the dojo can be reworked for a different area. The area beside the forge has gotten too crowded and my students lose their discipline. Please forgive the intrusion and luck be with you." Toshiro finished softly. He was already thinking about where to place it. He preferred a mountain but obviously there were none.

It would be better in the shade because of his oni blood. If they could get a garden to grow there, it would cool things down well enough and they would have plenty of water from the lake so long as it was safe to use. Toshiro turned away just as Takeru began speaking to him.

*You should have told them to get out. Told them who you were and claimed the land for me. You should have said this was the place you wanted and at least fought for it.*
Takeru stated with finality. It was obvious that he did not like that Toshiro had given in.

It was also obvious that Toshiro was not talking to either of the two others there. "That is never the answer, Takeru. Do you never stop with the arrogance...? It is about respecting others. Blood shogun or not, what you give out returns. I did say a mountain would be more suitable to my training. At this rate, you will never earn the respect of others. Only fear. Wolves bite the hand that hits them, but seldom the hand that feeds them." Toshiro hesitated pushing the rest of Takeru's tirade away. He needed to think about the dojo's placement. He had not realized he began to speak to the god aloud or that he was facing both the smith and Ifan again.

Ifan smiled slightly apologetically, though really there was plenty of space about, he could put his dojo elsewhere. As the man began to ramble to himself Ifan paused, it was a condition he knew all too well, not talking to yourself but the thing that was consuming you alive. He seemed to be berating the god.
"They never listen." Ifan smirked, rubbing his hand. "Stubborn arrogant beings gods. There are nicer places for a training ground, out by the coast below the pantheon, or behind the forges and camps." He shrugged. "Plenty to go around."

Toshiro blinked, then understanding what he had done. "Yes, and this one in particular has no patience and little humility. I am Toshiro, and he is Takeru. Xun Jiang explained to me that he is the General Chien Tang also known as The Blood Shogun. We have only been together shortly." He bowed to both again.

Toshiro smiled slightly. "I truly prefer a mountain top to build the dojo with steps leading upwards. One of the training exercises I would like to implement is a daily run from the top to the bottom and back again. It strengthens the lungs and legs giving a warrior the stamina to survive. And where the air is thinner, the lungs work harder in the beginning but survive on less air soon enough and so can swim greater distances if needed. And it is always a tactical advantage."

Takeru could find no fault in his host's thinking at all. The isolation had swayed other enemies to remain away. But a place of such height was not around here it seemed. This was a place by a lake and wooded or so he got from Toshiro's mind. It was too bad really. He would like to have seen what Toshiro created from such a mountaintop.

Dragon, Isambard's thought rang out within him, he understood a little of what that meant. Aparently even gods had heirachy, there was the leader, Creation and this council, and there were the dragons.
"I'm Ifan, and also Isambard of Industry." He held up his hand to show the older man the gem. "I've met Xun, he's a good guy." Ifan looked to the Smith who was regarding them both with some suspicion.

"I'll be getting on then." he said gruffly, of course he had heard of the "gods" seen a few of them, but to be around mortal hosts was a little unnerving at times. "Let me know when the plans are being finalised."

"I will, thank you." He watched the man walk away and rolled his plans back up again. "There are mountains, though they are not an easy reach of the Pantheon. A few days walking I suppose. You can see them on a clear day."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 18, 2013 1:47 pm

Toshiro nodded to the blacksmith as he left. He pulled his clothing to the side to reveal the dragon gem in the mouth of a tattooed dragon head rising over his shoulder. What was not seen was his back with the phoenix and the rest of the dragon. "I greet you both." Industry was necessary within reason. Though he remembered what had happened with the Japanese and rifles and the industries that westerners brought to them. It was not this god's fault that humans had taken it too far.

"Takeru is very passionate. I think very used to getting his own way. I like my brother, Xun. I have also met Shen Lung, but none of my other dragon brothers," Toshiro stated, claiming them as he had told Xun he would. "I have met both Mystery's, Lament, and Lady Valor. There will be others I would imagine that we shall see have chance to meet with the way things are growing here." He had only been here a few weeks and already there were more people again. Toshiro was not keeping track but the markets seemed more and more crowded each day.

He thought for a moment. "Perhaps the lake for the moment if I can find a shallow stretch nearby. Running thru water could achieve the same purpose until I find a mountain once the dojo has been established. Either way, my students will not enjoy it in the beginning."

"What are you planning to make here? I will be gone some time, but I would be curious to see what you create here. Although when I fashion a blade I do it the old way of folding steel." He smiled slightly. "One at a time and many months. It had been ages since I have had good steel to make such with."

"I have not met many more myself. Lady Greed, Music and Number." Though they had not really been seeking gods out, Isambard had things to do, he was not interested in the intrigues at the court of the gods.

As Ifan listened to Toshiro speak he found himself being thankful he was not one of the man's students, it sounded like he worked them hard, Ifan was an engineer, not an athelete. Toshiro's final sentences provoked Isambard to perk up.

Ah, the smug words of an artisan, it was all part of the chain of industry, folded over time or not. The god, having gained strength over the past months, pushed his host aside easily.

"All very well until you need to arm a army fast." He chimed in pleasantly, his voice was deeper than Ifan's the accent different. "We will be building a larger forge here, to compliment the other growing industries. We are rebuilding the town and a town needs bricks, wood, glass, iron and steel, Not on a massive scale, but enough to spur people onwards. To encourage artisans to expand their range of goods, give people back something of what was taken from them."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:39 pm

Toshiro nodded. "I have met none of them. I wonder how many are actually here at this point." Then he noted the voice change. Chien had not done that to him yet. Perhaps it took more time.

"I would not worry about arming an army. The good soldiers fight with anything and everything. They know how to defend themselves with whatever they find, but it is good to give the people what they need when so many more seem to find their way here."

"The decay of everything had been very hard on technology on my world. I imagine it was much the same everywhere. Computers stopped working or generators did so there was no power for them. It was like learning it all over again for those who depended too much on it. Those I lived around were used to doing without." He supposed it was a bit easier for them because they had depended on themselves so much more in the isolated areas.

Takeru knew that Isambard was right. Arming an army quickly was not done, but Toshiro had memories of farmers fighting too, so he supposed both were right. In necessity, one used what one had.

"Indeed." Isambard replied, he was not particularly interested in computers. Though they increased efficiency they were troublesome things. "I am glad there is a general among us now. I can't help but feel we are exposed here. There is aparently an absent council but nothing in the way of protection, and though I am arrogant I am not so arrogant I believe that we are invicible, especially with so many of us bound to mortal bodies."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 23, 2013 4:06 pm

Toshiro nodded. They were exposed here but there were those who were doing things. “Nor am I. Mystery, both actually and Lament, have been doing more than anyone knows. They have mages practicing and conjuring, men capable of shapeshifting and some good fighters. They helped bring the latest group of refugees here from Eshurian. Many of those belong to Lady Trickery but they are friendly people and some aligned with Taj also. Tajnevaki helps in the forge himself and has others from Baadris who are enchanting those same weapons. They have been doing this many months from what I understand. Lady Mystery knows fae magic and runes also. Lament helps as needed. And I know there are those who fly around the area each day.”

“Lifewater also has several dragons here that few know are such. Their magic is very strong and they spar every few days with each other and some of Mystery’s people. The council might be absent but there are those who are not and have not been idle. And Lady Valor has been gathering those to her also. Those are three that I know of. There could be others. Once I have more, I plan to implement daily patrols to cover the area. An early warning system.”

These were just the ones he knew of, but at least he knew this much. In an attack, he would know who to go to. “You should meet the Mysteries and Lament. I would trust all with my life and Takeru’s. I have known the Mysteries a very long long time.”

"I have met the Baadris glass workers too, their skills are impressive." Isambard replied, this was a good chance meeting, very good. Sitting idly by was never something that had sat well with him. "Once we have the larger forges, they will be able to produce better equipment and bildings for the glassworkers and the refugees. My plan is to return the town to its former state, give people real homes and businesses." He smirked a little. "Industry is not all about exploitation and sacrificing quality for quantity. I have a Djinn among my staff, he could help with patrols when you are at a point to implement them. He's skilled in that area and strong. I would be very interested in meeting other, like ourselves who are getting involved." Perhaps he would stay out of the court intrigues of the Crown's Consort. Politics, in his opinion tended to waste time that could be spent being productive. If there were others, like the Mysteries, Trickery, Lament holding the fort, then arguing over who should be in charge was largely irrelevant.

Toshiro nodded. "It will be good for them to have homes and such again. The world and people will thrive when they get the things they need and want."

"I will look you up then. I have just gotten my rooms but only a few are there for the moment. If you would like to meet the Mysteries and Lament, I could give you an introduction. And to Lady Valor as well as my brothers, Xun Jiang and Shen Lung. I am sure that all would be happy to meet you, Isambard." Toshiro could take him whenever he wanted to meet them. "I can see when they are available and invite all to my rooms for tea if you would like. It would likely be a few weeks from now though. I know they are quite busy at the moment planning a trip." It would make it far more comfortable for them all and they could relax and talk as they liked.

Tea, yes tea was always very welcome indeed.
"Tea does sound like a good idea. I have just got my rooms too. I think you would find them easily, gears and cogs." He smirked a little. "If I am not there then one of my companions will be able to take a message."
