 Elbaima hummed a nonsensical tune as she collected summer wildflowers in the field, tucking a small pretty one into her hair or tail every so often. Maybe she could make something out of the flowers for Jocoa... er, well, maybe she could ask Ranikata for help with that. Flower chains were hard.

 Jocoa's head was up in the clouds. A lot had been on his mind lately. ...Elbi's sister had a family line going with his friend Kenji, and his own sister had kids of her own. He was feeling... time. He wasn't getting any younger. It was about time...
His ears perked when he suddenly realized that someone was humming on the other side of some low trees. Was that..? Poking his head through, his gaze instantly landed on the pink cervi, looking as young and beautiful as ever among the flowers. Smiling when he saw the flowers in her hair, he bent to pluck up a few pretty flowers before announcing himself. "You better be careful. The bees might start flocking to you considering how the flowers dull compared to you~" That was sweet, right? Romantic? ...At the least, nice?

Elbi was momentarily startled by the unexpected newcomer until she realized it was Jocoa, and smiled brightly. "Jo!" she exclaimed, skipping over to him and giggling at the compliment. He always knew how to brighten her day. "I've missed you so much!" She hugged him tight, being careful not to crush the flowers either of them held.
"What are you doing here on this fine summer's day?" she asked after pulling away. Whatever his reason, she was glad to see him. Things were kind of lonely these days, what with her sister busy with her own family and her parents often off together or being with her younger siblings.

Pleased that Elbi wasn't put off by whatever he had said, which certainly was never good enough in his mind, he purred softly and looped an arm around her to return the hug. "I've missed you, too," he murmured softly, adoring those little words from the cervi.
"I was...." 'contemplating my desire to ask you to spend the rest of you life with me!' "...just on a walk. The house is kinda busy with my nephews visiting." ...Smooth, Jo. Very smooth. If only the words in his head could be spoken just as easily as what did come out.

"Ooooh!" Elbi exclaimed, completely oblivious to poor Jocoa's inner turmoil. "Mind if I join you on your walk? No one's really visiting my family, but... they seem to be pretty busy as well."
She smiled, then remembered what she was holding and held the flowers out to the cattaur. "Oh! Um, these were supposed to be for you... I was going to ask Rani to help me make them into some kind of chain or something, but, well, you're already here!"

Jocoa grinned brightly."You're always welcome to join me anywhere, Elbi!" Brow perking at the flowers held out to him, he accepted them with a nod. "Thanks." Then, he held out the ones he had plucked up. "These ones are for you~"

Elbi giggled, taking the flowers happily. "Why thank you! I guess if we both got each other such nice bouquets, great minds do think alike, huh?" Taking his hand in hers, she walked alongside him. "So, where are we off to, then?"

Jocoa felt a wave of happiness as Elbi took his hand for the walk. Her hand felt so good in his own... "Great minds.." he agreed with a chuckle.
"Hmm. I guess we're off to...." His ears twitched, and he bit his lip. Could he...? "I know just the place. It's a bit of a walk, but I'm sure it'll be worth it." He checked the sky to get his bearings, and then led Elbi off out of the field to get back onto the path.

"Well a longer walk means I get to spend more time with you, and I'm always up for that," Elbi said with a grin. Feeling more content than she had in a long while, she swung their joined hands and happily hummed a random tune.

Jocoa felt his cheeks warm slightly. She liked spending time with him... "I'm always up for more time with you, too," he said with a purr, giving her hand a little squeeze. He smiled at the way their joined hands swung. They were so relaxed together...
He enjoyed the quiet walk with his beloved, only chatting a little bit here and there. When he realized they were close, he felt his stomach begin to flutter. "Here. This is what I wanted to show you." They followed an old path to a wide clearing. Off to one side was a small house. It was single level, in good condition. It was a log house, with small but numerous windows to let in lots of light. The lawn was slightly overgrown, as was the garden. The last tenant had left recently. "What do you think? Isn't it neat? A little work, and it'll be good as new."
