Deldragan was in a foul mood as he went through his morning ritual. Dio had been bullying him and, as usual, Cedo and Ceto intervened. That was fine and all, but if they kept doing that, he'd never be able to defend himself. And that irritated him. Greatly. That was the whole reason for his morning ritual. He ran laps around Aila's farm; he pounded his hooves into trees in mock battle; he hauled... well, whatever they'd let him haul. The colt even convinced Danny to help teach him to read when she was free. He wanted to be stronger, faster, smarter... And yet, for all of his effort, he wasn't really improving at all. He was still pathetically weak, slow as molasses, and... well, average in brains. Del couldn't even talk to people normally without either offending someone or getting tongue-tied and embarrassing himself. Deldragan paused in his second set of laps when he spotted a pair in the distance. Dad had said someone was coming... who was it again? A half-sibling or something. He hadn't been paying attention--he'd been busy glaring knives at Dio.

Brise grinned over at Reiko. They had been gone for several months after their run in with Ruin, and were finally ready to come home. He wanted to introduce Reiko to his mom and dad, as Vindr had already met her, and meet his new little siblings that he had heard dad and mom had finally had. "You ready?" He asked Reiko breathlessly, leaning over to give her a light nuzzle as they reached his homeland. Looking in the distance he saw a little pink colored foal, and as he got closer he realized it was a colt, with very similar markings to his mother. He grinned and picked up his pace. The colt had no horns, but was pink, like he was, and had momma's swirls. There was no doubt that this was a younger brother. "Hullo." he greeted brightly when they drew closer.

Reiko nodded, eyes sparkling as she nuzzled him back. "Of course I am." She couldn't help being both excited and nervous, but both emotions were tempered by her usual calm. As they approached the colt, she couldn't help but notice the similarities between him and Brise. They could've been full siblings. "Hello," she greeted as well. Deldragan shuffled in place as the pair approached him. The male's coat was a cream color that was only a shade darker than his own pelt's white patches. The same went for the stallion's pinkish-purple patches. The designs weren't the same either. But there was enough similarities to know the male was obviously related to his mother as well. Probably one of the half-siblings he hadn't met, since his Uncle Lysander apparently had wings. "Hello," he muttered back, just wanting to continue his run so that he wouldn't have to talk to this pair--and embarrass himself again. He didn't take off, but he didn't look directly at the couple.

Brise grinned at the colt, his mind scrambling on what to say to break the empty silence. It was obvious that the colt was busy doing something.. but what? "Uhm.. Whatcha up to sport? And which one of the family are you?" He asked looking to Reiko for support.

"Running," Deldragan replied simply. "I'm Deldragan, the youngest and unimpressive one." No special talents, no wings or horns.
"You don't look unimpressive to me," Reiko replied gently. "It's nice to meet you Deldragan. I'm Reiko, and this is Brise." She paused and then inquired, "Why are you running so early in the morning?"
"I'm training." This mare was... strange. Most weren't this patient with him. Then again, most of them were Del's age. What Reiko asked next surprised him. "Because they have horns and you don't?" Del blushed, his face getting... well, pinker. "N-not all of them," he grumbled. "Dio doesn't have horns either, but he's stronger than me to, so..." The mare's next action surprised him almost as much as her guess to his motive.
Reiko laughed. "He's like a mini you, Brise," she noted, clearly amused. "Always training to be better than siblings." Well, Brise hadn't been this sullen and grumpy, but the similarities were uncanny.
Deldragan could only stare at the pair in confusion. He was like Brise? Really? And was that a good thing or a bad thing?

Brise leaned down so he was eye level with the colt. "I spent all my early days training too... because my brother and sisters all had horns and I didn't..." He said softly, his yellow eyes showing compassion. He was quiet for a moment, before looking back up at Reiko with an idea in his head.
He turned back to the colt... his little brother. "I overcame my weakness... Maybe I can help you? If you would like? Especially if Dio is bullying you..." He said, guessing by the roughed up look of the colt that he was often bullied by the other hornless one. Brise was the youngest of his siblings too, so he understood what it was like.
He lightly nudged the colt. "Take us to mom and Damir and let us visit, and later this afternoon I will happy to go on a walk with you. Does that sound good?" He offered warmly.

Deldragan's eyes widened at Brise's words. Oh. So that's what Reiko meant. And how did he know about Dio's bullying? Was it that obvious? He nodded slowly to the offer, steely gray eyes locked on his half-brother. "... Kay." He turned and looked like he was going to take off, but his speed was... slow, not much faster than a trot.
Reiko smiled in amusement. "He's like a grumpy you," she murmured to Brise before trotting after the colt.
Deldragan went in search of his father first. His mother could be various places, but Damir was usually with Aila in the morning--and thus easier to find. He didn't slow when he spotted his father though; he wanted to actually get to his parent in the near future. "Dad," he called to get his father's attention, then moved out of the way so that Damir could see Brise and Reiko fully.

Damir looked up and grinned at his son, lightly nuzzling him as he approached. Damir had never been one to shy away from physical shows of affection, especially towards his kids. He hoped they didn't mind, and for the most part, the children he had loved it, especially when he let them crawl all over him.. But this batch of foals was different.. hardier... stronger.. and more serious than any of his other litters had been. He shook his head mentally before looking up and seeing Brise and the female. "Welcome home, Stark." He said with warmth, even though Brise wasn't his by blood. He had raised the foal alongside Cecelia, and Brise called him dad. That was all that mattered.
Brise grinned and lightly touched his father with his nose, the closest to a nuzzle he would give his father. He had to appear 'manly' after all. "Hi dad. See you've been busy." He teased lightly. He knew how bad Dad felt about leaving Cecelia those couple of times, and how desperately miserable he had felt at the thought of Cecelia having him and his brothers with Ka, But Brise knew they would get their act together... and they did. "Dad... this is Reiko, my bestfriend and my mate." He smiled warmly as he introduced the two, before lightly nudging Deldragan with his hoof.

Reiko smiled as she was introduced to Brise's father. "It's nice to meet you." Her eyes sparkling, she added teasingly, "I apologize for stealing your son away for so long."
Deldragan accepted the nuzzle, but didn't really nuzzle back. He stood quietly by as Reiko was introduced, jumping a little when he was nudged. His face flushed in embarrassment. "What?" he grumbled.

Damir grinned, missing the attitude in Del's voice as he talked with the charming female. "Its quite alright. I'm just glad to see that you are both safe and sound and happy." He smiled genuinely.
Brise narrowed his eyes at Deldragan before motioning with his head for the foal to follow him. "Dad. I'm gonna go talk to Deldragan a bit. You'll entertain Reiko right?" He asked, smiling at Reiko before leaving.

Reiko nodded to Brise before replying to Damir. "So am I." Ruin had definitely endangered both their happiness and their safety... "It's beautiful here," she remarked, looking around. It was much greener and more peaceful than the southern deserts.
Deldragan gave Brise an oppressed look, reluctantly trotting after him. What was his "big brother" gonna say? Was he going to scold him for his tone? Would whatever advice Brise had for him actually help?

Brise walked alongside the foal in silence for several paces before he turned to face him. "Run to that tree over there, and back as fast as you can. Do not listen to your body's protests. Listen to your mind, and have your mind say yes I can. Do it as many times as you can. He ordered cooly and dispassionately.

Deldragan gave him a look, but obeyed. His run was notably slower than even an average foal, and the colt was well aware of the fact. Why couldn't he just do his normal routine? He thought it worked pretty well. It kept him away from Dio for the most part--except when Dio went out of his way to find him during his morning ritual and bother him--and most other foals that teased him were more interested in playing than training with him. Cedomir liked training, but he always did it by himself. He wasn't surprised; Cedomir and the others thought he needed to be protected because he was weak and had no horns. Or maybe it was weak because he had no horns. Either way, he hated it. Hated their biased judgments against him. He knew they meant no harm, but his siblings' "protection" was a hindrance. Del couldn't get strong if they were getting between him and every obstacle!
Deldragan let himself sink into his thoughts as he ran back and forth. Back and forth. An endless task. He but simply rolled himself back onto his hooves when he tumbled and kept running. What was the point of this? How was this supposed to help him? He didn't feel faster or anything...
How long had he been at this? Looking at the sun's position would break his focus, so he just kept running at his pathetically slow top-speed.

Brise had eventually settled down and lay down in the soft grass of his homeland, watching the foal. He wasn't fast, and didn't seem like he could go faster, but he had stamina. Brise could figure out how to use that to Del's advantage. "Alright. You can stop now, Del. Come on over and sit down in front of me." he said finally.

Deldragan was so focused that it took him a minute to register Brise's voice. He grumbled about the loss of his morning schedule as he trotted over, but he obediently plopped down on the ground across from Brise. He wondered what his half-brother would say. He obviously observed his horribly slow speed, but the stallion's expression seemed... well, thoughtful. That was good... right? Hopefully?
