Highgarden had possibly the most wonderful last few weeks. There were many does he had met in his time but none like her so far. Usually he went after does he could woo easily. Those ones only liked him for his own beauty though.
She was a challenge, one that he didn't even think he'd consider. She was strong, lively, and lovely. Never did she compliment him on his own looks either. He would chop off his own tail, the thing he loved most, just to spend more time with her.
Things were going well though. He'd started to realize he hoped to have children like her one day, beautiful and strong.

If she cared enough she would say a neat little bird prey wandered into her spiderweb, but as it was, she was getting some beauty sleep. An irritated opening of one eye confirmed her worst suspicions: another kimeti was in her sleeping vicinity and making a ruckus. That damn tail would be wonderful practice for her feathered serpent or cheetah though. She almost shifted, but sleep was closer.

He felt like he was being watched. Only for a moment though the feeling was soon gone. He must have been too deep in thought for he had wandered to an area he hasn't been in before. Highgarden would have turned around and left be he wasn't sure which way he needed to go. Maybe if there was someone around they could point him in the right direction and maybe for more then just how to get back. "Hello?"

She ignored the voice. Maybe he would get the hint and go away.

He knew there was someone there, he was confident he'd felt something watching earlier. Finally after poking around he found a doe nearby. Highgarden didn't get too close but kept her in view. "Sorry to disturb you but I was wondering…" it was then he realized that the doe wasn't a normal doe. He'd heard that they helped others. Maybe she could help, advice at least. "I only need a moment."

Flames danced at the brim of her eyelids until she finally cracked one, letting the fire roam free. She gave him the full effect of half of a pissed off stare. Her sleep was that important. She didn't even register his words. She just stared, the drone of flapping wings the only sound she gave off.

Honestly he wasn't sure what to expect from a legendary mare but he felt like it wasn't that. She looked livid and he was slightly hesitant to keep talking. "I just wanted to ask which way the river was. I have to get back to..." This really was quite unlike himself. Highgarden would have jumped at talking to a mare such as her, would have tried to charm her but oh no, he was off his game and she didn't seem willing anyway. "If there is anything I could do to make this up to you." He felt horrible for waking her, even if he didn't impose.

elvyralani Doom is prickly but she has her own way of doing blessings. Pieces of information slid together in her mind, and vanity won out. She wouldn't address him in her regular voice. Sleepiness would crack her voice and that was just embarrassing and too vulnerable. But then there was that advantage of ascending to the mare stage. In her own voice, she needled and droned into his mind, "But that's not what you're here for is it? If so, I wouldn't mind giving you directions should you desire to commit ritual suicide by drowning in the nearby river. All for MotherFather after all." Not once did her mouth open, though the one eye did close and she cocked her head lazily, shifting it onto the other forearm, her hair falling forward. A languid smile bloomed.

Highgarden would be lying if he said he wasn't creeped out by the talking in his mind. She was right though. Something brought him here and for a reason. Looks like he might have that chance after all. He smiled a bit. "You are right." He was sure that's how it always started out. "I have heard the rumors of what your kind can do. There's this doe..."

"Oh, tell me more?" eyes still closed she mused, stretching our her limbs. She twisted her neck side to side until that pop came. Angling her hips, two more pops followed.

Highgarden never got flustered like this. He smiled again. "Ah, well." Where to start? "I haven't quite met a doe like this. She's a very strong doe."
