Survey Mission 4D Location: Isla de las Munecas Images:: x, x, x. General debriefing: A team of dedicated individuals looking to write a magazine article about the island visited the area two weeks ago. Despite search and rescue attempts, none of them have made it back alive. They have noticed however, odd dolls shaped like the team hanging from the tree branches... * C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee) MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 4D. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a INSANITY ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: The island is extremely foggy, the ground uneven and moist. You take a few steps in the soft soil until you hear a sudden crunch. You just stepped on the glass eye of a doll. 21 - 40: You notice that the dolls look to be in varying conditions, some with maggots curling out of them while others still look oddly new and untouched. All of the new ones are missing their eyes. 41 - 60: You notice a cabin deeper on the island. Inside is a small den, a few rooms, and a statue of a wolf head, creepily enough. The trap door in the center will not open but you can hear a music coming from underneath... 61 - 80: The wind begins to pick up, as the dolls begin to stir and move, as if with a life of their own. All seems okay until - you see a new addition to the lineup of dolls. Is that a doll of YOU? It is also missing its eyes. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - As you continue walking down you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination? - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back.

With Tuck 'volunteered', Heidi just needed an intermediate or a Hunter for her little team. She kind of sort of knew what the Isla de las Munecas was, she'd recognized it when she saw the pictures of the place, but she didn't really know much about it other than stories and stuff. Was Tuck annoyed she had told him he was coming? He could always say no.. Ravvlet Text to: Wash Text from: Heidi Hey! You're an intermediate, right? Can you help me out with an external mission? =D pinchmonster Text to: Tuck Text from: Heidi Sorry if I annoyed you. <3 Would you like to come with me on this mission?

Not long passed before Tuck half-jogged into the lighthouse portal. As soon as he saw Heidi he grinned and moved in to swoop her up in a hug.
"Why did you think you was annoyin'?"

Heidi had just happened to be checking the location of their mission when she was suddenly scooped up into a tight hug. She squeaked and instinctively reached out to cling to whoever had picked her up; there weren't really many people on the island she would think would pick her up like this so she found no reason to fight it. "HI~!" Heidi grinned, making a happy little noise as she returned the hug.
"Huh? Oh! Well, you just didn't seem terribly excited when I said I was volunteering you to come with me is all." She shrugged, wrapping her arms around Tuck's neck so he would have to keep holding her up. A terrible fate. "We're going to the Isla de las Munecas," Heidi announced dramatically, lowering her voice in what she felt was an ominous tone. "Ever heard of it?

"Nope." He plopped a kiss on her forehead before disentangling himself so that he could look at the mission information. "Sounds ********' creepy."
He didn't sound pleased.

"I ain't interruptin' anything, am I?" Wash approached grinning. He hadn't gotten to talk to the smaller trainee much, and she'd never mentioned she had a beau.
"Have we met? Name's Wash. Wash Becker." He held out his hand to the young man he didn't recognize. An all-Moon mission, huh? An interesting choice. It would be nice to get to know a couple of the new recruits.
It's like they're MOONING over each other, Sally commented with a mock sigh, and he let out an abrupt and unexpected laugh before smothering it with his hand.
"Sorry," he added, smiling warmly.

The kiss against her forehead won Tuck a giggle and a quick kiss back, letting herself be put down and check her phone. She grinned up at him as he commented on the island. "Oh yeah? It's the island of dolls! It's got a super creepy back story. Some little girl died there, and I think it was like..her father? Someone. A guy. He went crazy and started collecting dolls and hanging them all over the place. He only died a couple years ago, actually," Heidi explained with a little too much enthusiasm for a girl going somewhere creepy.
Wash spoke up and Heidi turned, blinking. Interrupting? "I don't think so. Hi! Thank you for coming~." She gestured to Tuck as Wash introduced himself. "This is my friend Tuck. Wash is a Moon like us, Tuck!" She grinned. "I didn't do that on purpose I swear~."
Suddenly Wash was laughing and Heidi looked confused. "Thinking funny thoughts?" She giggled and turned away to tell the portal operator they were ready to go, giving the two men a thumbs up when it was set. "Let's go! I've been wanting to visit this island for like forever."
She then hurried through the portal like an excited little kid.

"Like I said, sounds creepy."
He met the other hunter with a wide smile. Another moon. Sweet. Tuck offered Wash his hand for a quick shake, grinning the entire time. "Tuck Ross. Real nice to meet you, man."
Suddenly Heidi was moving through the portal, and Tuck shuffled after her, muttering under his breath something about creepy damn dolls and pains in the a**.

Wash followed them, torn somewhere between a chuckle and a frown. An island full of haunted dolls? What was a nice gal like Heidi wantin' to go there for?

When Heidi was on the other side she stopped, gasping and looking all around at the dolls. In the trees, on the walls of the buildings, everywhere. All kinds, old and more recently made dolls. It was creepy, very creepy, but it was so cool. She waited for the guys to arrive behind her before she started walking forward, her boots sinking awkwardly into the ground in places she wasn't expecting. Heidi stumbled and nearly fell a few times, holding her arms out and reaching for whoever was closest to catch her balance.
There was a sudden crunch under her foot and she gasped, jumping back and looking down. Heidi lifted her foot to see what she had stepped on, finding shards of glass on her boot and on the ground. There was a doll near by that was missing one eye. Heidi blinked, picking it up and poking the eye. "Oh, it's glass.."
...Oops.
"Uhhhh.." Heidi giggled almost nervously and showed Tuck and Wash the doll. It was a baby doll, old, rotting, covered with dirt and mold. It was missing an eye, the other one had been crushed under Heidi's boot. "I hope this isn't, like, bad luck." She turned away, finding a nearby tree to sit the doll in.

It totally was bad luck, Heidi.
As Tuck followed behind the blonde Moon, the ground appeared to open up beneath him, and suddenly there was a thick, noxious gas pervading his senses. It choked him out and made it hard for the Moon to breathe, and the next thing he could see was the gaping, yawning maw of a terrifying beast - and then it was gone, and he couldn't hear or see a damned thing.
He couldn't even speak.
A terror gripped him tightly, and Tuck just froze in place.

The island was creepy enough, what with the looming spectres of the half-rotted dolls everywhere, but when the noxious gas erupted from the ground Wash nearly jumped out his own skin. He staggered back, gasping for air.
Bad idea- something was in the fog, and his vision swam. His ears rang as he tried to focus; colors were muted and everything seemed somehow less real.
It was like that day in the haunted house, with the fog and the hallucinations-
A doll reared up to face him, a manic grin plastered across its rot-eaten features. Wash tried to hit it with his shield, but he wound up staggering past it. He could feel it's grime-encrusted claws rake the back of his coat.

Did she step on more eyes? No...did the guys? Heidi turned see what Tuck and Wash were up to, about to make some kind of joke about something stupid until the ground released smoke. She gasped and stumbled back away from it, tripping on a tree root and landing on her behind. She coughed, pulling the neck of her t-shirt up to try and cover her nose and mouth. It didn't work.
A creak.
A groan.
"Tuck?" Heidi coughed, slowly getting back up onto unsteady feet. She put a hand against the tree she had tripped on to keep herself balanced. Something moved in the corner of her eye and she turned.
HEIDI DUCK! Matilda suddenly shouted. The voice in her head was enough to startle the girl and she practically fell to the ground. Something scraped against her side and she yelped, rolling away with a hand pressed to her side. Just a scratch. Matilda was already working on fixing it.
She quickly summoned her weapon and got back on her feet. Was that Wash over there? Heidi frowned, spotting Tuck not too far off. Oh thank god--
Something faded in and out of existence behind Tuck. Narrowing her eyes, she raised her bow, aimed, and fired. The arrow just missed Tuck's head and struck the fading figure in the face. It shrieked and backed off just barely.
