Delft wasn't entirely sure what had made him scale this hill..though he was beginning to think small mountain might be more appropiate a description. He seemed to recall something about wanting to get a good view of the land, and thinking it would be an idea therefore to get some height.
Which had led him to the nearest hill, and with slightly puffing breath and aching legs, he was thinking he had underestimated the climb. So rather than try and scale it completely, he was heading for the nearest part that was a plateau. With hooves scrabbling on the loose stones, he travelled upwards, and with a noise of relief found himself on the wide ledge that wound away from where he stood around the hill, a grassy area dotted with small bushes that swayed in the breeze, small flowers nodding at the sun.
'This'll do..' he said, as he moved towards the edge, making sure to stand a few hoof-steps from the slightly crumbling precipice, his mane caught by the wind as it blew around the hill, the length of it billowing around him.
'Well..not a good place for the hair. But a good view.' he said, looking towards the horizon from where he stood. He had gotten higher than he expected, and the land rolled out like a map before him. Delft spent some time admiring the view, and then decided to work out where he would next, searching for somewhere that looked interesting before he would make his slow way back down the hill.

The plateau had been such a pleasant little spot to take in the breeze. And most certainly, the view. Edelweiss had found herself quite pleased indeed to have 'discovered' it in the morning, still early enough that her tail had gotten damn with dew from the grass. And it was quite a big enough piece of land to share without feeling crowded, which was quite pleasant. Not that she found company to be bothersome when she found it.
It seemed her trail of thought found its way there for a reason. The sound of another's hooves was certainly not something she had expected, but neither was it at all unwelcome. With a grin the light-colored mare turned and began a search for its source. Not a difficult task, given the size of the plateau. With a wider grin she spotted the stallion and nearly trotted right over before she remembered her manners. "Hello! Did you come discover the view too?" Perhaps not the most normal greeting, but it was company!CitrusCupcake ...ok when I said I was slow even I didn't mean THIS slow! xD;;; sorry for the delay!

Delft was following the path of a distant river with his eyes when he heard a sound coming from just off to one side, approaching hoofsteps, followed by a cheerful greeting. He turned away from the vista, and was faced with a view of a different kind.
'And hello to you too.' he answered with a smile, his gaze quickly taking an inventory of the mare's looks; the fine formed body, the interesting scaling, the leonine tail, the graceful curved single horn, the floral decorations and lastly the delicate markings that all made a very beautiful mare.
Delft dipped a low bow, his mane sweeping down as he did so. When he straightened, he swept the long hair back with a practiced ease.
'I am pleased to meet you. My name is Delft, and yes, I came to see what kind of view I could get from up here. I wasn't to know I would find two lovely sights though.' he added with another, hopefully charming, smile.

"It is nice to meet you too, my name is Edelweiss." It was quite nice to meet someone so friendly. She smiled a bit happier for that, perhaps a little curious at the bow that had joined his introduction but not thrown off too terribly much.
"The view is very lovely, isn't it. You can almost see the whole valley from here when the clouds move." Perhaps she didn't quite grasp the intent of his statement, but it was no matter. With another pleasant breeze passing through she took a better look at the stallion to really take in his coloring, and her smile only grew a bit wider for it. "Oh, I really like your mane, and your tail too! How did you get the colors to fade like that? It's pretty, like the sky when it's changing."
She almost danced a couple paces closer in her curiosity to have a better look, even, and to get perhaps a better look at the interesting patterning on his own coat. It reminded her a little bit of hers, but different and darker.
CitrusCupcake D8 I didn't mean to make you wait!

'Oh, you have a very unusual name, if I may say so.' Delft said, smiling as he said it. 'Does it mean anything in particular?'
He looked out at the view again, nodding as she spoke, his mane getting caught again by the breeze. It was definately not a place to allow one to stay looking neat, and he decided that he wouldn't bother tidying it until he was at lower altitude.
He chuckled softly at her question; 'I don't know? It was just like that, ever since I was born. You'd have to ask my mother and father how I got the colour. But thank you. I myself have been admiring the delicate patterning that you have. It is most becoming.'
Delft smiled as she got closer; she really was a very beautiful mare. 'Do you live in this area?' he asked.

Smiling a little, she considered before shaking her head. "I don't think it means anything. But, I think there's a flower that shares my name somewhere. My mother told me about it once, it's a little thing that grows up high in the mountains."
The fact he didn't know how his mane and tail got their coloring didn't seem to be a disappointment at all, though she really would have loved to know. Maybe she would like to do it to her own someday. All the same, she just grinned as he complimented her patterning, and gave another shake of the head. "It's not that different from yours though! In different places, and another color, and your pattern makes a different design, but they are similar don't you think? I like the flowers of your pattern, they're so much bigger than the couple I have."
She grinned still, looking out at the view. "I like flowers. The flowers in the mountain valleys are some of the best, so I like to wander the valleys and see all the flowers that I can. And if a flower is a new one, then finding it is like an adventure." Perhaps a tame adventure, in the scheme of things, but life didn't have to be exciting did it? And it sort of answered the question as well. There wasn't a set hill or valley she had claimed as her own, but the territory as a whole was safe enough.

'I'm sure it's a capable yet beautiful little flower, especially to do so in such conditions. A fine choice for your name.' Delft said, trying his hoof at further compliments.
'Oh I don't know, mines quite bold, and definate. Don't really have to look too closely to see that I am patterned. Yours is far more subtle and delicate, requiring more than a second look to see all the detail.' he smiled at Edelweiss.
He nodded as she spoke and then replied; 'Oh, I like flowers too. Especially in white and blue. Which I notice you are wearing.' he said, nodding at the, the..thing she was wearing.
'May I ask, what is that you have on your back? I've not seen anyone wearing such a thing before.'
