xAnna Nicole Reighly. She was twenty-three years old, had a steady job at a local restaurant as a chef, her life was pretty great at the moment. At least, she couldn't seem to be able to complain about it. Since high school ended, her life sky rocketed and she couldn't be happier. Especially during this summer, this summer she finally got a car of her own, her own apartment, and a little boy cat.
Anna awoke that morning to the sound of her alarm going off and her cat walking across her stomach. She rolled over and mashed her face into the pillow, not quite ready to awaken. She didn't even know why she was waking up to an alarm this morning, today was her day off. She smacked the alarm to quite the constant beeping, rolled back over and climbed out of bed, slowly. She fed Whopper and walked back to bed, deciding to just sleep in this morning, why bother getting up early her day off?
Three hours later, she awoke to a constant buzz on her phone. "Ughhh" She groaned and grabbed it, "Hello?" She asked, her voice groggy, thick with sleep. "Anna! I'm headed to lunch, want me to get you and take you with me?" Her best friend, Ellie asked. "Fine, You woke me so give me time to shower and s**t." She said before hanging up, rolling out of bed and heading to the bathroom for a shower. She quickly showered and headed back to her room to get dressed. She blow dried her hair, ran a brush through it, and bounded out to her living room, just as there was a knock on her door.
"Coming!" She called as she slipped her feet into her shoes, shoved her cell phone into her pocket and slung her bag on her shoulder. She opened the door and grinned at her best friend's beaming face. "Anna! 'Bout time!" She teased before pulling her out and down the stairs to her car. They climbed in and drove a short five minute drive down the beach line to the shopping center. They rushed inside to the diner, grabbed food and sat down at a table outside, soaking in the warm, summer sun while indulging in chicken salads.

Lee sat on the couch at his friend Mutts apartment playing a video game...everyone who knew Lee, or Jr. As most called him, knew he had two passions in life, Music and gaming...they were his escape...when he wasn't at his job, The Guitar Pick...A music sales shop where he was the manager, he was usually hanging out with Mutt...He and Mutt, who's real name is Matthew, had been friends since they were in middle school...Mutt got his nickname from his appearance...having a scruffy beard and long hair, he looked kinda like a dog...he had been one of Lees only friends...
Today he had a late shift at the Pick so he was hanging with Mutt...he looked at the time making sure he wasn't wasting too much time...Mutt lived closer to the shopping center it'd take a couple of minutes to get there...He decided to head out early so he could clean the shop up before they opened..."Bro...I'm gonna head out to work early OK?" He said pausing the game and standing up...He stretched...
Mutt looked at the screen for a while...like staring into space...he shook his head blinking a few times.."Huh? Oh...you leaving man? Well I'll check you out later OK..." he said smiling and nodding a bit...Mutt was a stoner..had been one for a while...Lee never smoked the stuff but had become accustomed to Mutts personality due to his smoking...He just shook his head and laughed a bit..
"Lay off that stuff dude...I think its frying your brain..."He said before leaving...He grabbed his keys and hurried down...he had a pretty old car a 87 mustang, that was originally his dads..He drove down to the shop and got out...he changed into his uniform in the car...He hoped out and stretched looking around the shopping center..the Pick was sandwiched between a skate shop and some fancy restaurant...he always wondered about the location but if Reese thought it was a good spot, it was his business...He put on the skull cap he wore in the shop and started walking in...He stopped for a second...he looked at these two girls having lunch...he felt like he recognized one...but couldn't put his finger on from where...he stood there for a second longer then just shook his head and went in....

xAnna sat there, eating her salad with her best friend. She was enjoying her time, enjoying her day free. Ellie finished off her salad first, "So, Anna, tell me! What was going on between you and that guy from work? Didn't you say he asked you out? Did you go?" She asked, jumping on a bit of gossip. She rolled her eyes and her friends eagerness.
"Well...I didn't go. I just, I don't know. He's cute, he's funny, sweet, yeah, but...he just isn't the guy for me. I don't know how to explain it...I don't like him. He seems really clingy." She explained before finishing her food. She set down some cash onto the table. "Hey, I wanna go get a new CD, so if you wanna come with..." She said, standing. Ellie rolled her eyes, "You are like, the only one who buys CDs anymore." She teased, which caused Anna to turn and leave in mock annoyance. She could never be annoyed at Ellie.
Anna had just made it through the doors of The Guitar Pick, which was beside the restaurant they ate, when Ellie busted through, "Anna! Don't be mad! Dear, I am sorry!" She cried out in a mock apology. Anna giggled and wrapped her arms around her friend in a hug, "Oh I could never be mad at you Ellie." She said, "Now help me get my CD, oh and I need some guitar picks, a couple broke." She said, guitar was one of her small, hidden talents that not many knew about, but she loved to do it.
Anna began to wander and look through all the new CD's and even a few older ones in search of something new to listen to. She was constantly doing that, grabbing a new artist, a new CD that she wouldn't normally get, to just try something new, different for her. Ellie was off just looking around, playing with the different things that the store held.

Lee was in the back counting inventory and getting some guitars to display...he liked to keep the display fresh, so people could see the variety of guitars they had...He hadn't yet noticed they had any customers...he was counting the cases they had when he heard something...people talking...he looked at the time and headed out...he would have to change the displays later...
He usually didn't serve customers he was in the back since his promotion but to boost employee morale he had given the other workers the day off...he came out the back and hopped up on he counter, seeing it was the girls that were eating next door...he looked at them, specifically the one he thought he recognized..."Hello ladies, Welcome to the Guitar Pick, I'm Lee...um...if you need any help let me know M'kay?" He said greeting them like the policy required...
He watched them both and saw one messing around the CDs..."Oh yeah, we're having a sale on all Rock and Indie CDs and if you buy two CDs you get two picks from the case here..." he patted the large glass display case where they kept most the picks..."Or you can get one free custom pick, which we'll make for you upon your purchase..." they just started making custom pick, guitars, case designs and such..it was also Lees job to make custom gear, he was a bit of an artist, but he didn't really brag about it......he reached behind the counter he was sitting on and turned on the stereo system

xAnna watched the man who had come out of the back and greeted them. She smiled, just being polite. She felt she knew him but it hadn't quite hit her where yet. That is, until he was telling her about the CDs and picks that she remembered. She couldn't remember much about him except that they were supposed to go out on a date together and she had been stood up. It upset her at the time, and her being slightly outcast of the school, thought they were doing some joke on her.
That was all behind her now, "Wait! Lee, Lee as in, Sakamoto, or back then, Jr? It's Anna Reighly, not sure if you remember me...we went to school together.." She said, not pushing to far into their past. She had grabbed the new CD of Fall Out Boy, and was thinking about grabbing some Indie, she liked some, but hadn't gotten that much of a taste for it yet. So that would mean she could get a pick, "I wanna get these two by the way, which would mean, picks. I want a custom one and then a bag of simple black ones." She said with a friendly grin.

Lee looked at the girl..Anna....Anna! She was one of his only high school regrets...they were supposed to go out on a date and thanks to Mutt he missed it..he always wished he could have had another chance but he thought she wouldn't want to talk anymore so he just gave up on it..
"Anna! Its been a while..." he said...he looked at the CDs.."Fall Out Boy huh? Nice choice, this album rocks..." he said...She asked for a custom pick and a bag of natural picks...black..."OK no problem..." he said looking up at her...she was still pretty...he grabbed a form to fill out a pick design..."So how you been?" He asked and slid her the form

xAnna watched as recognition crossed his face. She grinned as he commented on CD choices and took the form he gave her. She began to fill out the paper as he asked how she was, "I've been good, I am one of the head Chef's at Tony's, it's about ten minutes from here." She said with a grin. Anna wrote down everything she had wanted, wrote down her information, including her name and phone number.
Anna set the pen down, "How have you been?" She asked, head cocked to the side, her brown hair falling over her shoulder. She had always wondered what happened that night a long time ago, but she needed to drop it, people change in three years. She had, she was so different now, for the better. Her life became so much better. She could see Ellie just over his shoulder, she was off looking around, not really paying any attention to what she was supposed to be looking at, pianos. She was constantly glancing up at her and Lee. Ellie was constantly trying to hook her up with someone, but Anna was so hard headed at times, it was hard to find someone willing to be with her. Her eyes barely left his except for a second, so they were now settled back on his, the deep, dark brown drawing her in.

Lee smiled and leaned forward on the counter as she spoke...Tony's...he'd passed that place hundreds of times on his way home, but he never actually went into it...it seemed like quite the swanky place, just pizza and fast food burgers were good enough for him...he never knew she was inti cooking...maybe if he would have got to the date...he sighed and looked up at her when she asked her question...
"I've been pretty great...I'm the manager here...just recently got my own place, which is always awesome...things looking up..." he said taking the form and heading to the back..he pinned it over his work station...and realized something.."Wait..you play?..I would have never guessed.."He said referring to her playing the guitar, he guessed since she wanted some picks as well..

xAnna smiled, glad to hear he was doing good. She couldn't believe that he was the manager here, she didn't come very often, in fact, she usually went to a different music store, but since this one was right here, and her and Ellie were out, she was glad to go. "Oh cool! I bet this is a fun job." She said with a grin.
Anna giggled at his question, he finally was catching onto her playing. "Yeah, I taught myself during some pretty boring Friday nights over high school and it has just stuck. Not many people really know, cause I don't play in public." She said with another laugh. "Do you play?" She asked, curious.

Lee nodded a bit..."Yeah its pretty fun...meet a lot of interesting people...and sometimes old friends.." he said winking a bit..he chuckled a bit...he smiled when she confirmed that she played..."That's awesome...yeah I play, I learned my first year out of high school...been playing ever since haha..."
He looked behind her at her friend and tilted his head a bit..."Um...your pick will be ready in like five minutes...you can come back and sit while I make it if you want..." he said raising the bar that separated the back from the store..."Your friend can come too if she wants..." he said pointing to the only other person in the store...he remembered seeing them eating together and guessed she was there because of Anna since she didn't seem to be actually looking for anything...

xAnna grinned, she wished she got to interact with her customers more than to just receive comments on her meals, 99% of the time they were good, and the other one percent was not even her fault, it was her dumb waitress who messed it up on the way to the table. She liked the few times she did get to interact though, it was nice to meet new people.
Anna looked at Ellie as Lee said they could go to the back. Ellie had some smug look that only Anna knew. "Actually, I am in need of some shopping of my kind, so I'm sure you will be fine Anna, come find me if you want to when you finish up here!" She said, giving Anna a hug, "He is cute!" She whispered in her ear before letting go and leaving.
Anna made her way behind and went to the back and sat down. She set her beg beside her and looked back to Lee. "I love music, especially the guitar, all the different cords and combinations you can do with them...my fingers are permanently callused now but it was worth it. Which is why I need new picks...Mine all either broke or are playing a good game of hide and seek." She said with a small giggle.

Lee waved at the girl exiting and went on back to start on the pick...the equipment was pretty hug-tech for the small dinky store...his boss was very particular about the things he'd buy for the custome gear...only the best..which was good, because Lee would not want to work on any crappy old machine...He sat and started working looking up at her application and giggled a bit at her comment..."I feel you there..i buy new picks like every other week...but our custom picks are premium, they'll definitely last at least a year, or we will supply you with free picks for life, a free guitar case and custom guitar...My boss is really sure they'll last long.." he said with a slight chuckle...
He looked over at her and smiled a bit.."So...you don't usually play in public...do you not like to? Or you never had a chance?" he asked...he was thinking of inviting her to the Summer Jam, it was the next night, an event he came up with last summer where young inspiring musicians could come and just play and get the reactions of other musicians...like a free jam session

xAnna let out a small gasp, "Really? A year? Wow, if they do, I am certainly getting my picks from here from now on. She said sitting up a bit. She had spent so much money on picks, if she had just come here, she would have saved so much. She also may have gotten to see him sooner than this.
Anna blushed at his question, "Uhm, never had a chance, I also kinda am a bit shy about my playing." She said, running a hand through her hair. "I do love it though, there are just so many different combinations of different notes." She finished. She wasn't really shy or modest about much, but when it came to the guitar, she was nervous about. She loved music, so much, but she was nervous about messing up. Being a chef, she cooked in a kitchen, where no one saw her. She didn't have an audience. She wanted to perform at some point, but she was nervous about it.

He asked smiling a bit at her...he was nervous when it came to playing in front of others at one time, but got over it by forcing himself to do just that, playing in front of others
