Erevu felt rather under the weather.
He had woken up late, rendering him unable to do training. When he decided to patrol the border, he found that he simply couldn't walk about as much as he would like and his senses were simply gone. A hare had ran right in front of him, causing him to jump back, before he noticed it. He had scowled and scolded himself the following hour it took to return Pride Rock.
Staring grumpily at the ground, Erevu had taken up a flat rock in the shade at the base of the jutting rock, panting at the heat. He certainly wasn't feeling well, if this type of weather got to him. Wrinkling his nose, he stretched out his paws in order to find release from the tension and finally relax before deciding to just flop on his side. He let out a grunt, closing her crimson eyes on the world.
He didn't like feeling under the weather.

Emrys was a small little thing, which left him pretty weak in nearly everything he tried to do. But there was one thing he excelled in, and well ... today he was taking advantage of that! He'd managed to sneak out of the den, and away from Izzy before she'd noticed. He'd hoped he would return before she noticed he was missing, but then it didn't really matter. He was likely to get busted anyway! He always got busted!
He tried to shrug off his dread at getting caught, but he knew it was an inevitability. It was like the sun rising and then setting. It was going to happen, so get used to it.
Grunting a little, the cub tried his best to jump onto a large rock. He'd eyed it many times in the past, but he'd never tried climbing it.
Well ... today was going to be the day.
Another grunt as he tried to grasp his claws around the granite. Followed by a small whine as he slunk slowly to the ground. His claws scratching against the granite the entire time.

What is that awful noise?
Erevu grunted, flipping onto his stomach to cover his head, and ears, with his large paws in an attempt to block out the shrill noise. It didn't help much and, irritated, he stood up to tell the perpetrator to stop it. Politely, of course.
However, when he found a cub sliding down a rock, nails trying to grip at the surface, the lion's bad mood all but evaporated. He grinned, watching. Erevu couldn't remember a time where he was irritated with a cub; that just simply didn't happen. If he wasn't set on becoming a scout, he probably would of wished to be a nanny. Probably still would, when it was time to give his scouting job a break and step down due to age.
"What are you doing?" he asked, tone full of amusement. He sat down, eyeing the cub to assure there wasn't any injuries from climbing pride rock. He decided the cub hadn't gotten very far.

Emrys hardly noticed the larger lion as he leaned over the rock to watch his epic failure. In fact, it wasn't until he spoke up that the cub took notice. The unexpected voice startled him, and he sheathed his claws quickly. Causing a quick and definite fall to the ground. With a grunt of pain, Emrys shook himself free of his fall and tried to look up at the male. "I'm trying to climb this rock."Lowering his belly to the ground, the cub's rear rose into the air. He claws unsheathed once more and his tongue stuck out from the corner of his mouth. A second later, he was latched onto the rock with all his might. Though he wasn't going anywhere, anytime soon. With a groan, Emrys looked up at the much larger male with his sad cub eyes. "How come you can get up there so easily and I can't?"

Erevu winced as the cub fell, feeling a bit guilty for startling him. However, the older lion knew there was no helping it. Sitting down, he looked at the rock before back at the cub.
"And why is that?" He murmured, watching as the cub attempted it once more. The noise was dreadful. Flattening down his ears, Erevu cringed, feeling shamefully relieved when the cub failed. At the question, a grin crossed his mouth.
"How come?" he echoed before chuckling. "Because I'm a lot larger, that's why." He paused, looking hesitant, before smiling gently. "Would you like some help?"

The pout came on rather quickly and soon the cub looked as though he were near tears. Though in reality he wasn't going to cry, he just had a knack for looking extra pathetic. "Because."Emrys shrugged his shoulders at the older male, as he inspected the rock. There had to be someway to get up there. "I'm not good at this type of stuff ... so I have to keep trying to get better right?" Again he prepared to jump at the rock, but he hesitated. He'd noticed the new male's reaction to the terrible noise the last time. "Well that's not much of an answer is it?"Sticking out his tongue at the older male, he rolled his eyes jokingly. "I thought adults were 'apposed to be smart and serious all the time?" Shooting an accusatory glare at the male, he quickly shook his head in rejection. "No no no! My brother can already do this all on his own! I'll never learn if I have to get help from big guys like you!"

Erevu hesitated, looking around quickly. The cub looked as though he was going to cry. He took a step back, not really wanting to take the blame for causing the cub distress. Stopping himself, he shook his head, placed on his friendliest smile, and ducked down a bit to be at eye level. "Because?" he murmured, but didn't press on.
Erevu grinned; the cub was actually pretty insightful. Nodding his head, he settled down, watching as the cub got ready to jump. However, he never launched off. The lion narrowed his eyes quizzically, tilting his head in question. "Why aren't you going to try and jump?" he mused.
He laughed at the face the cub made, sticking his tongue out in response, before lifting a large paw and ruffling the small tuft of fur on the cub's head. "Hey!" He mockingly cried out. "I've only just become an adult! Give me some credit here!" he grinned, before hopping on the rock the cub was attempted to jump on, then another. He turned around, laid down, and watched the cub.
"Alright. I suppose I'll stay right here and supervise, then. Maybe give you a few pointers. What do you say?" the lion asked, not wanting to leave the cub alone and without adult supervision.

Emrys released a heavy sigh and mockingly rolled his eyes in his head. "Because i'm not good at anything, and if I can't even climb a rock imagine what everyone will think of me when i'm an adult?!" His voice became a bit frantic and shaky, but he continued on anyway. "And i'm not just being dramatic either! My sister calls me that! I just really can't do stuff." Emrys' head fell in defeat as he admitted his words. Though he remained crouched and ready to pounce. That is until the male asked him another question. Letting his tongue creep back into his mouth he sunk lower into his crouch, all the while his eyes were squinted to inspect the distance between himself the rock. "I'm try to calcu-ma-late! Don't you know anything?" Emrys giggled, having no real idea that he'd even mispronounced the word. "I guess I could give you some slack .. BUT! Only if you give good pointers like you promised!" Nodding his head, he reverted back to a standing position and stared with envy at the male's skills. How much he yearned to do the things that this male did so easily. "I wish I was big like you."

Erevu gave him a solemn look.
"Can I tell you a secret?" he said in hushed tones, looking around in mock nervousness. Hunching down, he leaned closer to the cub. "To be honest... I couldn't climb a rock, either. I had to take the path," he whispered, before straightening up and firmly nodding. Smiling softly, he placed a large paw on the cub's head, messing up his small tuft. "Eventually you'll get it, though. Maybe you'll never be able to climb a rock... I'm sure there will be plenty of other things you can do," he informed him.
Calcu-ma-late. Erevu blinked. And then, a roaring laughter escaped his throat. The cub was just too much! "How kind of you," he chuckled once his laughing calmed down, slightly breathless. "Agreed," he told him, grinning.
At his last statement, the lion blinked before laying his head on his paws. "Mm? I wish I was small like you. I can't even begin to tell you about my favorite hiding spots. I can't fit in nearly all of them," he said with a sad sigh.

Emrys' eyes narrowed suspiciously at the male lion as his tone lowered to hushed whispers. What exactly was he up to? "Of course you can! I won't tell anyone!" Hopping up and down, his little tail swished back and forth in excitement as he waited to hear the secret Erevu had promised him. "Took the path?!" What kind of a secret is that?! The young cub's head tilted in confusion as he tried to catch a glance of this path Erevu spoke of, but he didn't see anything. "Well I sure hope you're right, Erevu, I wanna be good at at least opne thing when i'm bigger!" Emrys heaved a heavy sigh and looked hopefully up at the older lion for his wise words. "Hiding spots huh? That sounds like fun!" He was just about to ask the male to tell him more about them, but a vulture screeched in the sky causing him to look upwards. The sun was getting lower in the sky. Mom would be on edge if he didn't get back soon! "Uh oh I better go before my Mom starts looking for me. Maybe next time I see you, you can tell me all about your secret hiding spots!" He mused happily, stirring himself to his feet and preparing to dash away. "It was nice meeting you Erevu, I hope we meet again soon!"Lollipop x L u x u r y Oh my ... I'm sorry Lolli! I hadn't realized I lost track of this one D: Yes we can call it finished after this post if you'd like <3
