Jordan had finally tracked down a concrete lead on the artifact he was looking for: confirmation that it existed and even a suggestion of a few locations it might have been hidden in. However, there were about ten different weighty, dusty, entirely-too-dry tomes to hunt through in search of that information. He looked at the stack on the table and sighed. Maybe this would go faster if he had help. Baneful Text to Rep: Mind giving me a hand with some artifact stuff? Saliru Text to Al: I'd like your help with artifact research.

Rep eyed his phone, he'd just finished filing the paperwork for some of the basic tested runes and was about to move onto his next distraction for the day involving hot chocolate and lazing around for a while when he received Jordan's text.
Quote: Anytime. Need the personal touch? Where are you?

Jordan grinned at his phone. Quote: Text to Rep: I always need the personal touch. Though maybe not like that right now. In the library, just need some help with getting through this stack of books.

Rep almost looked disappointed but didn't drop the smirk, as if somehow his phone could see him.
Quote: I can live with dusty books, on my way.
He texted back before he put it away and got up, heading straight for the library, sauntering in with his usual lazy propitiatory swagger and sitting down at the table with Jordan, propping his chin on a hand.
"The cavalry has arrived."

"Watch out, we'll make you into a nerd yet." Jordan gave Rep the soft-edged, affectionate smile that was reserved for him and Harrison. "Thanks, man. Here," he indicated the stack of books. "We're looking for stuff about a Greek artifact, a cup associated with Charon, boatman of the underworld. I got pretty solid confirmation that it exists, just have to figure out where it might be hiding. Location information." He slid a notebook with neatly written notations over to Rep. "There's some indications that it might be part of a larger stash with Greek-myth associations."

Prolixity Text to Jordan: on my way : ) Al showed up as fast as he could, which was quite a bit later. He offered Jordan an apologetic look as he entered the library and doubly so when he realized Rep was summoned too. He didn't bother making excuses; though when he got the text he was on the other side of Deus entirely. "H-hey..."

"People are welcome to try." he said, fishing out his reading glasses and pulling a book from the stack to flick through it. "Sharon? Isn't that like, a ******** woman's name?"

Jordan nodded at Al as he arrived. "Thanks. I need some help looking through these books to figure out where the artifact I'm looking for could be. A kind of cup, associated with the Greek boatman of the underworld." He handed Al the book from the top of the stack, a thick, dry tome that listed archeological discoveries, their location, and the mythological and Fear-related links connected with each. He glanced at Rep at the question, paused for a moment as he noticed the glasses, then answered, "Not Sharon. Charon. I don't think there's any connection between the names. This was the guy who ferried souls across the River Styx and Acheron so they could get to the afterlife. Might still be around. I don't have any confirmation on that. I'm pretty sure we don't want to actually run into him if he is, not without a hell of a lot of backup." He tapped his pencil thoughtfully on the page he was taking notes on. "The research I've been doing indicates the kylix isn't actually in his possession any more, but if I'm wrong about that, I might have to start over from scratch. This isn't an important enough artifact to tackle a reaper that ancient for it, so I'm hoping I'm right and it's cached somewhere else."

Al took the book and carefully flipped it over in front of himself. "A death cup then?" He asked curiously as he began to page through the book for any pictures of cup-shaped objects. He listened curiously at the conversation the two were apparently having before he arrived and soon looked a bit nervous. "We aren't going to hell, are we?"

"No, the available information suggests that it's a cup containing the waters of one of the rivers - the Styx is the river of the wrathful, the Acheron the river of pain; both are associated with cleansing those qualities. It could be really useful for research." Jordan tapped the page in front of him with a finger. "I don't think we'll actually have to go to the underworld for it. It seems to have been stolen or lost at some point. It might have ended up in an artifact cache."
"The underworld isn't hell as such anyway, but a more general afterlife. It's where the dead go, but not necessarily to be punished," he added helpfully.
