As much as Wash would love to roll around in bed -
-or the floor -
-or the desk-
-or the windowsill, the bookshelf, the dresser, the wall, the nightstand -
with Sasha, he felt it was about time they went back to a more usual routine of exercising, eating, and generally leaving the dorm for more than shower (sex) and bathroom breaks. He'd cajoled her onto the training field -or maybe she'd cajoled him, it was always hard to keep track- and now he stopped for a moment, to bask in the midafternoon sunshine.
"Sometimes it ain't so bad, livin' here," he commented. Trouble was on the horizon, but for now everything was alright; his spirits were high.

"I suppose you're right," Sasha agreed, idly stretching in order to limber up. She was still sore in places thanks to their recent marathon, and Sasha had muscles that ached in places she didn't know had existed.
"As long as you're around," she amended briefly, taking a moment to remove her jacket and scarf so that she wasn't hindered by them. Sasha was clad in black leggings and a red tank - the red suited her mood as of late. Violent, passionate, bloody.

Wash watched her, admiring her lithe, slender curves; her petite figure slashed in red and black, fabric clinging to her body. It was hard to concentrate once she'd shed her coat and scarf.
There was something about that edge, that contained violence that thrilled him.
"C'mon, darlin. Take ya best shot," he called teasingly, arms wide open.

There was something indescribably frustrating about hand to hand combat. Throwing punches felt so graceless, so unrefined - nothing close to the deadly elegance of wielding Nona.
Fists were uncouth. Distasteful.
Inaccurate.
Sasha's swing came in low and barely glanced off the hard wall of abs that it came into contact with.
It infuriated her.

Wash didn't summon Sally - not that it would really matter.
"Swing from the hip, put ya whole body into it," he commented, taking up a defensive stance. She was real good at putting her whole body into things.

"You're distracting me."
Sasha lashed out again, first one fist and then the other, before stepping back with a scowl on her face.
"Have you been working out? I feel like I'm punching a wall."

Wash grinned innocently.
"Had to work on somethin' while you was gone."
He lowered his arms.
"'ere, have a free shot, since I'm so distractin'."
And then he took his shirt off.

Now he was playing dirty. Sasha drew up close and lightly socked him right in the stomach.
"You're going to pay for that."
It sounded more like a promise.
Sasha leaned in and sank her teeth into his pectoral.

"Promises, promises," he chided darkly.

Sasha appreciated that dark tone. It fit her current mood. It incited something deep inside of her, something that fueled her rage and sent her fist flying at Wash. She hit him hard, almost as hard as she could, right in his abdomen.
That connect felt good. A little too good, considering she was beating on Wash.

Wash grunted as the blow connected, but didn't back off, instead responding with a light blow of his own.
"That's it," he coaxed. " I can take it, darlin'."

Sasha swung wide and missed completely. It only served to piss her off.
"If I ever hear someone cry about their weapon again, Wash, I am going to rip their head off."

He feinted to the right, delivering a light jab to her shoulder.

Sasha rubbed her shoulder where Wash's fist had lightly connected. The pain was a non-issue; it hardly hurt at all. The real frustration stemmed from the fact that she could feel that light punch at all.
"This is the worst feeling in the world. I need to get back there, and soon - unless they kill me beforehand." She shook her head and gave a mirthless laugh before swinging, and missing, at Wash's arm.
