Since her little escapade through Zena and Jahuar, Winta and her grandmother Zoan had been on very bad terms. Which seemed to only make everything worse because now her grandmother had taken up to doing whatever it took to keep Winta inside the house. Who knew what else that old woman was going to do. So last night Winta had taken to sleeping by the forge that they had in Vers and not showing up at home unless she needed clothes. Only then she'd sneak in and take some out. While she enjoyed going to sleep making something and waking up to her creations displayed openly it was hard sleeping on the hard floor instead of her plush bed. "This has got to end today." Winta groaned, after having gotten dressed for the day.

Within seconds of cleaning and dressing herself it seemed that Winta had climbed down the tree in which she'd been staying in and down to the ground floor. She was a strange Leaf. While she enjoyed being in the tree's or any high place really, she enjoyed the feel of the sand beneath her feet. Plus it was easy to find a twig or two you could make into a stake. Winta had some skill when it came to make small weapons, it was just the big one's that gave her some trouble. "These look good." She said, propping herself up at the base of one of the large trees with a small, baby branch in her hands. It had some leaves sprouting out at the end but they'd be gone within seconds. Her troubles with Zoan could wait until later. Right now it was all about the weapon.

It was good to be home in Tale, however as always Niadra had wandering feet so she didn't stay in one settlement for long. It didn't hurt that there was just another one right next to the one that Nyiim and some family lived in. Plus she wanted to check out who was living next door to him. But no, it wasn't just a trip for jealousy, it was also to see if there was any new talent that could come on the road with them!

As Niadra walked, or rather danced, she sung as well. As she walked she spotted someone whom she wasn't sure if she had met before. She was a girl, a leaf girl, and really really pretty. Niadra frowned. How had she missed her before? If there was anyone who could steal Nyiim's, and any males really, attention, it had to be her. She was beautiful. But what exactly was she doing?

Niadra decided to find out. Walking over, she didn't want to scare the girl away by dancing, Niadra smiled. "Hello, I'm Niadra." she said with a smile. Maybe it was a little awkward way to start a conversation. She would have to work on that. "I saw you but I wasn't sure what you were doing, and well curiosity got the best of me." she said with a small laugh.

Winta rarely ever paid attention to what was going on around her while she was carving, so it wasn't hard to guess that she hadn't noticed Niadra until she was near by and talking. At least Winta didn't jump when her bubble was finally popped. "Oh, hello." Winta replied, looking up from her half-done stake. "Uhm. I'm Winta." Was all she could say in response. Lately, she'd met a lot of new people so she shouldn't be all that surprised for someone to stumble upon her but she still was.

"Oh this? I'm just making a stake. Didn't want to cut any wood for a spear." With that Winta held out the nearly completed stake for the girl to see. As she did so, she took notice of Niadra's odd body composition. She seemed thin but fit. Muscular but frail. It was for someone to be so many contrasting things at once. Then again, if Winta wasn't so absorbed in her weapons and designs she probably would have been able to put together the fact that Niadra was a dancer. "You're not from around here are you?" Winta asked in a friendly tone, but with her usual straight to the point edge to it.

Winta? That wasn't the kind of name she was expecting. It just didn't fit for some reason. Then again it could just be her jealousy talking. Stake? Now that was new. She hadn't meet any weapon makers before, and for some reason she just assumed that it would be a man that made weapons.

Niadra nodded at the stake. It was nice. "Looks good so far." she said with a smile. When Winta asked if she was from around there there or not she was a little startled. That was more something that she would have asked. "Well no. I travel around a lot. However if I had to consider some place home it would have to be Yware. I have been here before, and I never saw you around here. Are you new around here?" There was no way that she had lived there her whole life. Niadra would have noticed someone like that.

At the girls reply she smiled a little. It felt good to get complimented on her work, whether the girl meant it or not, especially considering the fact that she pretty much had to sneak around to do it. Her grandmother really just couldn't stand the idea of her making weapons. "Thanks." She replied, smoothing the tip a little with her thumb. It was far from perfect, at least in her mind but it was a good start. These were certainly a lot easier to make than spears. "Yware? I've never been there before." Her response sounded like she was debating going to visit it sometime.

"New? No. My families lived here for a couple generations." Winta replied. "My grandmother likes to keep me inside most of the time so I'm not out here making weapons." She added, waving the stake a little as she did so. Not that she wasn't allowed outside but her grandmother would try to go with her or make sure that there was no possible time for her to sit down and do what she wanted to. It was a little frustrating. Okay, maybe more than a little. "I wander a lot myself. So that might be why?"

So she had never been to Yware, well that made more sense to why Niadra had never seen this girl. It also made Niadra feel a little bit better. If she had never gone to Yware before there was a chance that she didn't get out much, or that she didn't have a reason to do so. Hopefully that wouldn't change any time soon. This girl was just too pretty. "It's nothing too special. Most villages are pretty much the same from my experience. It's just the people that change."

When the girl said that her grandmother kept her inside a lot, and that she didn't want her making weapons Niadra smiled. A rebel. That was interesting. "Yes, that must be why. Why doesn't she like you making weapons? And how did you get away this time?" she asked curiously with a smile. Now that this woman wasn't a threat she was genuinely interested in her.

Not that Winta had been planning on visiting any of the other villages in Tale any time in the immediate future, she still lost interest in visiting them ever. Not that she hated her home and only had that to compare it too but who wanted to see the same place all the time? Wasn't that the point of visiting other places? "Oh. Well I guess I won't be making any trips anywhere in Tale anytime soon." She laughed.

When Niadra brought up her grandmother Winta sighed. Well, oh well if she was about to sound like a whiney brat. "To put it in easiest terms, my parents were fighters and died because of their job so my grandmother doesn't want me to have anything to do with weapons or the like." She shrugged slightly. Her grandmother could hate her for it but Winta wasn't going to stop. "I--" Winta paused as she thought of how to respond to the last question. "I didn't really escape? Probably ran away." Winta said with a laugh. "I've been spending my time in the forge and because I refuse to stop until I can't even stand anymore I haven't been back home. So I've bee avoiding her without really meaning to. Sort of." Her eyes focused on Niadra as she finished, trying to see how she would respond. Winta wasn't one to run away from things but when it came to her grandmother she often did things she wouldn't ordinarily do. Like running away.

Niadra smiled. Yes this was good, just stay in her village and things would be okay. "Yeah, out side of Tale is much more exciting in my opinion." she suggested. She wasn't sure if this girl had ever been any where outside of Tale, but Niadra didn't want to discourge her from traveling ever! Just not to Yware.

As Winta talked about her grandmother Niadra frowned slightly. She felt bad for the girl, both because her parents were dead and also because her grandmother was limiting her because of her own fears. Even though her whole family dance, Niadra knew that if she really wanted to her family would support her if she wanted to do something else. That was what family did. When Winta explained that she didn't escape, more like ran away, Niadra nodded. "I understand, it must be hard to know the path you want to take and not be allowed to take it. I hope in time your grandmother sees that making weapons is your passion and gets past her fears. After all, it might be more comfortable for you to be able to work from your home."

So Tale did have some places not everyone would want to visit. If it was more exciting to visit other places too then of course she would go there. "Where else have you been?" Winta asked, curious to know what places she could visit. Tale was very big. Maybe some of the places near the border would be okay. "Are the border towns in Tale okay?" She further asked. What was wrong with the places in Tale to begin with? It was all very confusing but at least she had an excellent source! This girl was well traveled so she knew these things.

"It is at times." Winta admitted, frowning for a moment. "But as much as I hate being home and having to deal with all the stuff she says, I do understand why she doesn't want me to do it." It was true. She understood but at the same time this was her life and she should be able to do what she wanted. In all aspects. If she was a weapons maker then her grandmother wouldn't have to worry about her dying. Then again, she might. Especially if she went with the fighting. People need weapons and in wars sometimes weapons break. It was a lot to consider but she knew that if she tried to talk to Zoan about it she would blow up. "What do you want to be?" Winta asked, curious to know a little more about Niadra.
