    Personality:
Despite being a member of the infamous Carnage Division, Typhus is not bloodthirsty and demented like the name my suggest. He is a somewhat well spoken and surprisingly cultured individual who can carry a conversation aptly enough for there not to be an awkward silence. That being said, he still loves a good fight and enjoys showing off his prowess on the battle field. He has a bit of dislike for physically weak people because he does not think they should be on a battlefield as front line forces. However, he values the fact that the physically weak can unleash a variety of supporting fire and urges them to train their body with their mind in case they do not have a choice in fighting at a distance. Still, he prefers to be on the front lines himself, even with a ranged zanpakuto like his own, despite his more impressive melee presence. As a Captain, he's rather confident about when he'll retire, although the date itself is vague, described only as "The Day I've finally payed back the Academy everything I owe them."
    Sexual Preference:
    Heterosexual

    Family:
    The Shimazu Clan

    Background:
Typhus was a three quarters Japanese child that never knew his father. Typhus' father had been called away to war during the Warring States and Typhus would never see the man again. Consequently, he had to be raised by his mother who had few options available to her. One of the options was a brothel. Although it would likely pay more, that was only if the young Typhus could be kept away from the building and out of trouble. Still, his mother tried it, and was denied so long as she had a child. Instead, she turned to the only other option available: cooking sweets. Normally a job done by woman and the transactions handled by men, it was a hard life for Typhus and his mother for several years, at least until he could walk, talk and handle business strictly for himself. That being said, he asked his mother to teach him how to make the sweets as well and took over both the cooking and the selling of their products. It was not a particularly successful business, but slowly and surely Typhus made a name for himself in the world of food, just not quite in the way one would expect.

You see, as the war continued and soldiers became more of a common sight, Typhus had to expand his repertoire from desserts and sweets to portable snacks. Because of the small size of sweets, this was an easy transition and soon he was almost alone commercially for a quite a while in both his range of foods and skill. He even took up business in preserving certain foods, namely meats such as fish and pork and other farm animals. Although a mere playful nickname, he became known as the "Bento Soldier" simply because he supported the armies that came through with paying soldiers, with warm home cooked bento boxes and sweets. And unlike most people, when other armies came through, he treated them as simple soldiers doing their job, taking no sides as the Wars continued. The only thing, aside from Thyphus' nickname, that spread were his mochi. Chewy and sweet, this became one of his most ordered treats and the boy constantly found himself needing more than he had. If he ever hired help, something he could not do because of financial constraints, he wouldn't have to worry about the labor intensive process required to make it. But alas, all was not well, and Typhus' ran out of mochi almost every time visitors came through.

Eventually, the unfortunate happened. Two opposing armies came to the sleepy little village at the same time. The larger army began to sack everything in their hurry to destroy the smaller army which seemed to be more focused in actually taking down the whole of the enemy forces rather than raiding a small village. As the armies clashed, Typhus' mother was killed and his sweet shop set ablaze. Running inside, he grabbed the only weapon he had; a mallet used to beat the rice paste to make mochi. Turns out that the mallet was also adept at cracking skulls through armor, and siding with the smaller force, Typhus took on the army with the under dogs, driving away the destructive, larger foe. After the battle, he was taken prisoner and then given an audience with the General. After a long and lengthy verbal exchange, Typhus was freed as a member of the Shimazu clan. The boy would be required to fight, but he would also serve as cook for the upper echelon of the Shimazu soldiers. Consequently, he would have quite a bit of a military stipend. Although Typhus' initially refused, he was tied up and carried around like livestock for a day, which changed his mind. He agreed, and took part in the next battle. However, the boy would not live through this one and as a new member of the Shimazu clan, he died only a month later. His lack of training had been his downfall, but things were only just beginning.

Typhus found himself in the World of Souls, the Rukongai's infamous Zaraki district when he awoke. The District was brutal on the sweet maker and he almost met the reaper for a second time on several occasions as he tried to escape from this hell after earth. Eventually, he found his way into the ninth district, and although not the best place to live, it certainly wasn't the worst. Typhus managed to find himself a job cooking sweets again, something he had ample skill at, and took to it like a fish would take to water. His sweets, especially his once slightly famous mochi, often found their way into the higher districts, which led to higher class clients, forcing Typhus to improve his work. Additionally, with his work consistently pounding away at and sculpting mochi, he had great stamina and pretty good physical strength along with rather effective attention to detail, but this would not be what got him into the Seiretei.

Enter two drunk Shinigami. They were looking for something to sate their want for some sweets and decided this would be the best place to do it. Although not stammering drunk, they were not entirely sober either. They placed an order and Typhus took the payment and went to go make the mochi, telling them they would have to wait just a bit. As the two drunkards watched him work, one made a bet to the other that the boy could disarm him with the mochi mallet. Taking the bet, the Shinigami in question drew his weapon and asked the boy to come to him. Obliging him, but not coming unarmed, he took the mallet with him. The Shinigami held up his sword and told the boy to swing. Typhus refused, but this only made the situation worse. Instead of simply putting his weapon away, the drunk man swung at Typhus, causing the youth to bring about the mallet and shatter the drunkard's zanpakuto. The two men panicked and left and Typhus went back to making his mochi. Several days passed before Typhus saw another Shinigami, and this time they were en masse. He was questioned, at length, and then ordered to quit his job and follow the Shinigami. Doing as he was told, he followed the men and was thrown rather than enrolled into Shino Academy.

By the time Typhus had graduated, there were a lot of different costs added onto his bill, mostly construction over anything else. He was thrown into the Ninth Division and then batted around in several other areas before coming back to where he started in the Ninth Division as a Lieutenant. When his Captain finally retired, he took over the Ninth Division as acting Captain. He claims once his debt to the Academy is payed he'll retire from the Gotei Thirteen, which may make his subordinates wonder just how much chaos this one man caused in the Academy.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ZANPAKUTO

    Zanpakutō Name:
    Ama-sa
    Zanpakutō Type:
    Ranged
    Sealed Zanpakutō:
[In Appearance Picture]- Ama-sa is a longer than average katana that comes up to Typhus' shoulder when drawn. Because of it's length, it gives Typhus an advantage against most people. However, this zanpakuto lacks a guard on it, allowing it to flow more freely through the air while reducing the defensive possibilities of the weapon, allowing it to be brought through the air faster than would normally be allowed and also drastically increase Typhus' offensive capabilities with the weapon.
    Zanpakutō Spirit:
    Ama-sa

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SHIKAI

    Shikai Incantation:
    Break 'em down, Ama-sa!
    Release Appearance:
    Shikai

    Description:
Ama-sa is an odd zanpakuto that blends in supporting power with ranged attacks despite primarily being a melee fighter. Consequently, this makes fighting Typh rather odd as he is comfortable at either range.
    Abilities:
    • Pesutoeka [Paste Maker]: The user grips the handle of the zan firmly with both hands, swinging the mallet in a wide, forceful arc. Like the name suggests, this swing is designed to crush through defenses and depending on how the blow lands, disarm foes. Inanimate objects with the exception of zanpakuto and the inclusion of Kido that end up deflected by this attack turn into a thick and sticky white ball of mochi.
    • Hageshi Fera [Fierce Blow]: The user either flips forwards or backwards to bring the mallet down on the foe or lift them up into the air. If the blow strikes an object or person, the force is focused into a single point, significantly increasing the damage and pain the target undergoes should it hit the foe. Needless to say, this makes upwards attacks by this move throw the opponent much farther than would normally be possible. Inanimate objects and kido, with the exception of zanpakuto, overpowered by this attack turn into a pile of mochi.
    • Usaginoashi [Rabbit Foot] The user throws the mallet upwards, arcing it towards their opponent. As the mallet hits the ground, it strikes with concentrated force on the head, causing a rather small area of force but increasing the damage in that area before ricocheting backwards directly for the user, giving the attack a triangular attack pattern. As with other attacks, with the exception of zanpakuto, inanimate objects and kido overpowered by this technique turn into a glob of mochi.
    • Miwohiku [Bow Out]: The user calls nearby mochi to their location and absorbs it into their body before throwing a palm thrust that sends them sliding across the ground, air, or whatever substance they need at the foe, save for several substances, namely fire and electrical environments. As the user nears the foe, they "bow out" and turn away from the opponent as a mochi doppelganger continues on with the palm strike towards the opponent with a surprising amount of force given that it's a squishy pile of rice paste.
    • Mochi Mochi Busou [Mochi Mochi Rampage]: The user gathers a highly condensed ball of reiryoku in their hand and causes an flux of reiatsu to the ball, forcing nearby mochi globs in the area the gather in their hand, causing anywhere between a 30cm to 1m ball of mochi to gather up before being fired at a speed comparable to a Bala and just as quickly. It slams into the foe with a lot of heavy force and splatters on impact, dissolving into reishi when it hits something however.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ BANKAI

    Bankai:
    Koibito
    Bankai Incantation:
"Encompass all in your embrace, Koibito!"
    Release Appearance:
The Bankai maintains it's appearance from Shikai, instead simply becoming more dense and deadly to the enemies.

    Description:
Koibito's bankai is different from the Shikai in that it focuses more on ranged combat with a small to moderate distance between the user and their opponents,

    Abilities:
    • Waidoaku [Wide Arc]:The user inhales and puffs up their cheeks, exhaling as they move their head from left to right or right to left, spitting out a long, wide arc of mochi. The damage dealt is entirely by the impact of the squishy sweet treat slamming into you at a high speed before either splattering or sticking the foe to the wall. It's moderately strong and can slow down a foe just enough for Typh to make a follow up.
    • Engetsu [Crescent]: The user swings the mallet down and hits the earth, causing a wave of energy to ripple through the ground in a wide arc, ending under the foe or a maximum range of three meters with a small but powerful compacted blast that send globs of mochi everywhere. If used to hit a foe in the air, they see a giant line of mochi race at them before balling up and exploding. The sheer stupidity and hilarity of it has been known to throw foes off guard enough to get caught in the blast.
    • Yumigami [God of the Wide Arc]: The user creates a point of pressure with his reiryoku and reiatsu, dragging all mochi in the area into his hand and compacting it to an inhuman amount, the size never growing larger than a softball, no matter how much mochi is absorbed into the ball. After reinforcing it with more reiryoku, the user tosses it lightly into the air, hitting it with a home run styled swing from the mallet at his foe. Although it starts at only the size of a softball, it expands near instantly about three quarters of the way from the foe to minimize their chance of escape as well as cause a swamping mass of mochi to overrun the foe and either drag them down in the sea of sticky treat and capture them or outright suffocate them.
