It was late, but not too much - not long past nightfall. As Caitlyn Masters, she had asked for and gotten permission to go on a late-night walk, after demonstrating to her parents that she had both a cell phone and a can of pepper spray, to hopefully prevent the sort of incident that had landed her in a hospital not a month before.
As soon as she was a decent distance from her house, she'd powered up into Sailor Persephone, and she was enjoying a bit of rooftop-hopping on a commercial street, which was surprisingly not busy. An oddity for so early in the evening. She was staying mostly out of sight, especially given people's general tendency to avoid looking up.

Lance stretched his arms over his head as he walked down the empty sidewalk. He loved this time of day. ...Aside from having nothing to do at the moment. His little sister was off at a friends house for a sleep over study session. While his 'foster' family had extended an invitation for him to join them in whatever they had planned, Lance figured he should give them sometime to bond by themselves. So here he was, walking down a random street at night.
Way to cure boredom.
Hmm.... Maybe he'd stop by the karate studio??? See if he could sneak in some sparring practice.

Persephone frowned a little, feeling a tickle of Chaos energy on the edge of her radar. Well, that wouldn't do. Much less so when she spotted someone she thought she recognized. It was hard to tell from up high, so she dropped down behind him, her best winning smile in place.
"Hey there!" She greeted cheerily, tilting her head to the side and waiting for him to turn around.

"Christ!" The blonde yelped, whipping around to face the sudden voice that had come out of nowhere. Though he blinked stupidly at what he saw.
Well that was new...
Lance had expected to find a normally dressed person. Not someone who looked like they just skipped out of the Parthenon. Huh. "Uuuh Hi...?" He answered back slowly.

Persephone sighed at his expression, reaching up to muss her hair a little. "Yeah, I know,t he outfit's weird," she said, feeling whatever Chaos was on her radar moving towards them. Now that she was sure it was Lance, she walked closer to him. "I swear to God I'm not a mental patient. I'm just out for a walk, and you looked like you could use some company."

"....I've seen...weirder?" He offered. Though the weird he was use to was whatever Cait happened to be cosplaying as on that day. Or hour depending on certain things. The blonde eyed her curiously. "...Ya know.. Opening with you're not a mental patient, really doesn't help." Not that the thought had crossed his mind before..

Persephone laughed, trotting up next to him. "Yes, but would a mental patient say she wasn't one? Probably, don't answer that." She probably shouldn't act too much like herself - it wouldn't be a good idea for Lance to start to pick up on any similarities. Ah well.
She could feel the Chaos thing coming closer. Quickly. s**t, she should probably try to get Lance away...but how to do that?

The blonde didn't answer but he fixed her with a stare that was enough of one. Despite himself, for every step she took forward, Lance found himself taking one back. "Sorry... Nervous habit?" He lied.

Persephone found herself looking in the direction of the Chaos aura regularly, hoping not to see it. It was likely hiding in the shadows between buildings, and she knew she was like a beacon.
"I...you're afraid of me." She said, putting her hands on her hips and frowning. s**t, this was going to be even harder than she'd thought.

"Uh.. Not necessarily? I've just never been jumped by uh..." He waved his hand at her outfit. "...A Grecian?" Is that the would he wanted? "...What are you looking for?" Lance asked. The green haired girl kept looking over her shoulder.

Perspeohne laughed, but it was tense, not a lot of humor behind it. "Ah, that's not exactly the word you want, no," She said, "right styling though..."
She turned completely in the direction of the aura. "I'm just...I...s**t." A shape, almost like a very, very large bear with what almost looked like sabertooth fangs and overlong claws started to lumber out. "Oh s**t." She ran forward, all her Senshi speed and strength in it, and grabbed his arm. "******** run, okay? Don't ask questions just <******** run."

"Hey, atleast I didn't say crazy lunatic. But again, I've seen weirder." He blinked at first curse, raised a curious eyebrow at the second and then nearly lost his balance at the third and forth. The ********? As he was about to question why she was now cursing at him, he saw why she was cursing.
"...Yeah I think I can agree with you on that one. I'll ask the obligatory question later though."

Persephone started pulling him along, her breathing a little heavy. They were going uphill...s**t, this was probably the worst direction she could have run in. Uphill, towards what looked like a residential area, with tended and fenced-in trees lining the street.
Bad plan. More innocent people were this way, and the sabertooth bear was getting closer.
"It's called a youma," she said, "and it wants to quite literally eat your soul." She stopped, and then pushed Lance behind her. "Stay back, alright? I'm equipped to fight this thing."
Well, better equipped than him, anyway.

This time, Lance pulled the girl. "Gonna let a little hill stop you? I thought greeks did all kinds of physical things like this?" He teased, though it probably wasn't the best time. "Uuuh. No. I like my soul intact and not eaten thank yo- ack!" Again with the pulling and shoving. "You just said that thing eats souls and you want to fight it?!"

Persephone shook her head. "I'm not leading that thing into a neighborhood full of innocent people." She said, and then she flashed him a very, very reckless grin.
"Yeah, I'm gonna fight it. I'm a goddamn magical girl." She wasn't normally reckless, but this was Lance. This was one of her best friends, and a street full of houses and families that did not need to become sabertoothed bear dinner.
So she let out a wild amazon scream and charged, slamming her entire body into the thing.
