Bio:
Kamili's mother is a light-skinned African woman who moved to America, which is where she met the girl's father. He's a Native American man who lived on a reservation. She met him in a market outside the reservation and her mother had told her it was love at first sight. After months of spending time together they started dating. Years later they decided to get married and Kamili's mother moved onto the res. with her father. Months after her honey moon her mother discovered she was pregnant with a little girl. She grew up on the reservation and some of the other native kids teased her because she was slightly darker than them. After the years grew on the kids started to like her better only because she lightened up a bit. While playing a game with the kids she hurt herself. But a few moments later she got up as if nothing had happened. Her wounds had healed themselves. She went and told her parents about it and they spoke to the elders. Some said it was a curse and others said if was a gift from the gods. As she grew older she drifted apart from the others because they knew she was different. After having received a letter from Nakaumi Academy, a few months later she was at Nakaumi Academy. She knew that she would fit in better here. If only she could learn better English.
