A very flamboyant character in appearance, he also sports a native american headdress along with several bracelets and such on both of his arms. He also has one ring on his middle finger and two on his ring finger, all having some significance behind them all. Jousake's eyes also make him stand out from the crowd, as he was born with genetic defect that gave him red iris'. As for his hair, he was also born with pink hair, due to yet another genetic defect that created such an odd hair tone for him.

Background: Born a prodigal son, Jousake had probably one of the best childhoods around. He was well educated, lived under an extremely wealthy family, and was incredibly gifted from a young age, Jousake had it all. Never was really exposed to hardships, he was able to amass a wide amount of knowledge on various topics about the human world along with the history of the Gotei 13 and their entire organization. He was craving to join the Gotei 13 and was denied from his parents on several occasions to do so, as they saw him as someone who was too weak to join the ranks of the Gotei 13. This only pushed Jousake to continue to train overtime to become worthy enough to join the academy and start his training to become a shinigami.
After twenty long years, his parents finally caved in and he was admitted to join the academy, though they expected for him to drop out within the first week of joining. To his parents surprise along with his classmates, he was able to graduate the academy in a year, a feat not seen before in hundreds of years, as he progressed into the fourth division with incredible ease due to his amazing skills with healing and combat. Within twenty years of being a member of the Fourth Division, he was already promoted to lieutenant of the Fourth Division. Many were surprised by this rapid increase of rank, as he was expected by many to take over the Fourth Division in a matter of months. To the surprise of many, he stayed lieutenant of the Fourth Division for a hundred years, as he remained loyal to his captain, as the two bonded unlike any other captain and lieutenant at the time.
However, when his captain died, he was promoted almost immediately to the rank of captain of the fourth division. He remained in this position ever since, as his reputation soon became legendary in the Gotei 13 for not only being the most liked captain of the Gotei 13, but for also showing a degree of leadership that rivaled that of the Head Captain himself among his peers, as he was soon to demonstrate a sheer level of authority over shinigami that weren’t even in his division. The people had a tremendous level of respect for Jousake for all the battles and work that he aided in over the years. One thing in particular that made Jousake stand out was the reform of the Fourth Division via the creation of the Sword and Shield Initiative.
This initiative pretty much everything about the Fourth Division, as for the first time in history, members of the Fourth Division were able to stand on par with those fabled fighters from the Eleventh Division, and in some circumstances, even exceed their skill on the battlefield. Not only did this raise the reputation of the Fourth Division, but it brought the legendary shinigami Jousake Hiroshi more fame and glory to his name and division. However, as the decades passed, an offer was presented to Jousake. For his many contributions to the Gotei 13 and to the Fourth Division, he was being promoted. Though this news came as a surprise to many, as he was a captain, and the Captain Commander spot was occupied by someone. Though it became clear just what the nature of his promotion was being.
He was being promoted to become a member of the fabled Royal Guard for his dedication and loyalty to the Gotei 13 and his contributions to the Seireitei through the Sword and Shield Initiative, with his unrivaled knowledge in healing and kido. However, surprising every single person in the Gotei 13 that was aware of his promotion, Jousake incredibly turned down the promotion, becoming the first shinigami in the history of the Gotei 13 and along with the Royal Guard to turn down such an offer. News of the offer did go however well received by the Soul King, as Jousake was permitted to keep his rank and such, but his reputation and legend only grew after this, as his name and legend has spread not only through the Gotei 13 and the Sereitei, but also in the Royal Guard, the world of the living, and even in the fabled realm of the hollows, Hueco Mundo.
Though as the centuries passed, he was pressured continually not only by the Royal Guard, but also Central 46 and on the rare occasion, a letter or two from the king himself asking for him to join the guard. It wasn't until five years after the Second Great Ash War, when Jousake caught almost everyone by surprise and secretly decided along with the Royal Guard that he would join their fabled ranks as their fifth and final member. Ever since then, Jousake has remained posted in the Soul King Realm, loyally serving him, ready to lay his life down for the linchpin of the Soul Society.

Carried Weapons: Jousake almost always carries his zanpakuto. His headdress does have several sticks of dynamite, which he keeps handy in case of tricky situations on the battlefield.
Fighting Styles:
-Hakuda: Being that Jousake has been an active shinigami for hundreds of years, his skills at hand to hand combat unrivaled by many. Even members of the Second Division, which has been well known for their skils in hand to hand combat have a hard time keeping up with his skills.
-Kido: Jousake has been able to perfect every single known Hado and Bakudo spell and can easily perform high level spells without incantation with ease and deliver devastating damage with his kido. He’s also incredibly skilled with healing kido, as he has mastered every single form of healing kido, and has even developed some of his own secret healing kido, which has been proven to be extremely useful on the battlefield.
-Zanjustu: When it comes to fighting with his zanpakuto, Jousake can fight with his zanpakuto with incredible skill, as he can use extreme accuracy and precision with his sword. With his incredible knowledge of the body, he can easily target an opponent’s vital spots and at the same time inflict incredible damage to his body, without hitting a single vital spot with incredible ease.
-Hohō: Jousake boosts incredible skill in the art of movement and has mastered Hohō unlike anything most shingami of the art have witnessed. He can easily dodge some of the most intense and more powerful attacks that can be cast by opponents with ease and is very fast on his feet, making him someone very hard to inflict damage on.
Strength: Jousake's physical strength is average among shingami and it has proven to be useful for him in the past. He can use this skill in times of medical assistance if people are trapped under rubble that can prove to be a hinderance to get to his patients.
Speed: Jousake's reflexes are some of the best around, making his incredible mastery with Hohō even more useful. He can dodge some of the fastest attacks known to shinigami.
Intelligence: Jousake is probably the wisest and one of the smartest captains in the Gotei 13 presently. He has incredible insight on life as a whole and in regards to situations on the battlefield, as he has increidible knowledge on battlefield tactics. He also possesses a massive amount of knowledge in regards to medicine, healing kido, and in combat, making him quite the formidable foe.
Stamina: Jousake's stamina is well above average, as he can handle some of the more physically demanding tasks with extreme ease for days. He can also use extremely demanding healing kido spells for days on end to heal hundreds of soldiers if such numbers of people are injured on the battlefield at any moment.
Durability: This is perhaps the weakest aspect of Jousake, as he possesses average durability in regards to taking hits on the battlefield.

Spiritual Pressure: Jousake possess a vast amount of spiritual pressure and due to his age, his spiritual pressure is one of the highest recorded for a shinigami. When released, it can prove overwhelming not only for his opponents, but also for himself, as his vast spiritual pressure is incredibly dense and heavy.
Swordsmanship/Accuracy/Other: Jousake's swordsmanship is one of the best around and he's extremely precise with blades. His accuracy is second to none, as he can make his sword hit whatever part of his opponent's body, but this doesn't come with ease due to the size of his zanpakuto.

Appearance Description: Jousake’s shikai takes the shape of a Native American dreamcatcher. Although it’s worn as a shield on Jousake’s right arm, it still retains the normal shape of a dream catcher. Measuring four feet in diameter, making it a relatively large shield to protect Jousake on the battlefield.
Abilities:
1. Jousake's shikai has several purposes, but the primary purpose is being able to protect it's master against attacks. When first used, it has no defense at all and slowly increases in defense with each growing attack a opponent throws at it. The dream catcher itself serves as a way of absorbing attacks, thus protecting Jousake from atttacks, and can form a barrier that protects him from all angles. However, if he wishes to use the dream catcher to launch a attack on his opponent, he must give up all stored up energy from his dream catcher to launch a powerful beam of energy that can consume anything in it's path. It has the capability to take on the force of a full potent cero oscuras and can fire back the strength of an attack of that caliber with ease.
2. Jousake's shikai also allows for him to heal him during battle only by the reshi absorbed from his dream catcher. Much like the offensive move used by the dream catcher, it takes away all energy stored up by the dream catcher to heal Jousake. This can also be used to heal others on the battlefield, but like mentioned before, this uses up all the energy stored up from previous attacks. Although it has been noticed that arrancar that posses high speed regeneration can heal themselves on the battlefield, this ability isn't on par with such skills, as it can heal some serious injuries, but if a person is on their deathbed, not much can be done with Jousake's zanpakuto in this regard. He certainly can't save himself from death on the battlefield, and it hasn't been proven that he can save those entirely from death with just his zanpakuto.
Bankai
Appearance: Jousake’s dreamcatcher dissolves into thin air, as green reiatsu begins to manifest over Jousake’s body, as this starts to grow into a massive astral giant, measuring to be an impressive forty seven feet tall. This form seemingly puts Jousake in a comatose state of mind, as he’s relatively relaxed in this form.
Abilities:
-This bankai offers Jousake the ultimate level of protection on the battlefield, as this giant can produce a massive dome made of energy, which has a diameter of roughly 50 feet, allowing some room for the giant to stand comfortably.It can withstand the force fully charged cero oscuras. However, when using this barrier, he cannot move when using it.
-The final ability in Jousake's bankai is that he can produce one final beam of pure energy, which offers devastating damage. It's on par with that of a fully charged cero oscuras and has a blast radius of three hundred meters. However, this final attack forces Jousake out of his bankai immediately upon activation, rendering his zanpakuto useless for the remainder of battle.
