The Old Crypt was rockin out, doomboxes bumping loudly as several people were setting up the stage for the next band. From behind her, an obnoxious a*****e with flaming hair leaned down and yelled over the music, "Hey ghoulie, watcha got for us?"

"Not bad, ghoul, not bad at all!" He plucked them out of her hands and whistled. One at a time, he threw a bottle up into the air and Bomb appeared to snag it out of the air. Each time, the bomb would take a quick swig from the bottle and then belch a huge ball of fire before giving the recruiter a thumbs up and dropping the bottle off at the drinks table, currently covered with dozens of of bottle and stacks of orange Soulo cups. "And legit booze, even. Sometimes wannabe's try to pass off booze bottles full of water, juice, and other s**t, and seriously? Points for the attempt at trickery, but nothing holds water like actually being capable of getting a job done."

Punching her lightly on the shoulder, Nox, pulled Hel into the crowd, talking loudly in her ear as the band took the stage and loud cheers filled the crypt, "So you have my attention, now. What are you gonna do with it?"

The Ifrit's eyebrows shot up and his own grin widened in answer to hers, "Ghoul, that's a terrible offer. Come on." Tugging her elbow he led Hel out of the fray, and into a smaller, quieter section of the crypt. "You don't make a demon an offer like that. And you're almost graduated?"

Nox snorted and popped a squat on an empty stone casket, "You don't need a job, you need a minder if you plan on offering demons whatever they ask once you;re out of her." Crossing his arms he looked her up and down, "So is it a job you're looking for, or are you looking to join the ToTC? They may seem the same, but in the long run, there's a lot of major differences."

Settling, Nox began to explain, "Well if all you want is a steady paycheck and decent benefits, you can work for me. But only for me." He gave her an even look, "You don't work for other ToTers, you aren't forming a power base and network for yourself among the ToTC. Work can run anywhere from book-keeping in an office, to following me to other worlds and acting as a personal assistant. If you're looking to join the ToTC, I'll help you get your feet wet. You'll travel, take on a few missions, start gaining the tools needed to get what you really want out of life. But the pay is unpredictable, anywhere from jack to treasure hoards, and the health benefits consist of encouraging you not to get seriously injured and knowing a few people who can fix you up for cheap."

With a shrug he finished, "Both have a their good points and bad points, which is better depends on your priorities."

Scratching his chin, Nox didn't answer for several minutes. Finally he nodded, "Right, here's what we'll do. I'll hire you as my personal assistant while you figure out what you want as a Treater." He jabbed a finger at her, "You'll need to choose eventually, though. For now, you can start as a Jr. Treater, which means," he grinned toothily, "...coming up with your own personal code for secret messages."

Nox nodded in a decidedly self-satisfied manner until Hel started asking questions. His visible dismay grew with each one and by the time she got to paperwork he looked ready to run. "Yeah you're hired...ish." He backed-up a step with slow caution, as if any sudden move may cause her to attack with a request for detailed information on his dental plan. "I'll send whatever forms you need to your jackhole counselor since you're a minor at the moment and have him deal with it. You start the moment you make yourself useful to me, for the most part that means gathering information. About other students, about teachers, about what's going on at school, on the web, whatever you think might be useful, or is a bit whacked, you know, out of the ordinary."

Somebody handed him a Soulo cup, and he drank with something that looked a lot like relief. "No dress code unless you go somewhere you need to blend. For other stuff? I'll need to get a better idea of your skillset, but I'll let you know."

"It means you're on a trial period, ghoul, so don't get cocky," Nox waggled a finger at her and took another drink before handing her a plain white card. "When you have something for me, write it down, set this on fire and use it to burn the information. It's reusable but not cheap, so don't jacking lose it."
