The raunchier of the teen-hangouts in the city, where underage teens can partake in virtual alcohol and equally-virtual disco lights.

Florence Basset

Florence pushed her way through the door trying to get past the mass of teens who were either drunk, high, or both. She walked to a corner that was not very crowded with people and tried to focus her energy. To anyone with normal hearing, they would have heard loud thumping beats and a few words here and there. However, since Florence did not have normal hearing, she could hear the pounding beats of the music, the slight vibration of cups at the bar all the way on the other side of the club, and the many conversations coming from all over the club. Mixed in with the audible noises were the noises that no one else could hear except the owner of the noise and Florence. The thoughts of everyone around her were faint but present. She knew she shouldn't but she could not help but focused her energy on a boy and a girl she had seen earlier at the entrance of the club. The boy was blond, tall, and muscular. He wore a muscle tee that showed off his biceps, and a mischievous smile on his face. "I really like you," he said. "Naked," he thought, and the girl he was talking to really believed him. She was tall and lean but shorter than the boy, and her brown hair was in a Katniss braid over her right shoulder. "I like you too," she said while playing with her braid. The boy leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear, "Let's go somewhere private,". "I'll see if she is better than her sister." Florence could not take it. She felt sick at the thought of what the boy had planned, and she felt bad for the girl who had just accepted the boys request. "I shouldn't do this. But I would be helping her." As she was mentally arguing with herself, the boy and the girl began walking toward the back of the club. "Fine" she thought, and with that she placed her hands on her headphones and focused her energy on the girl. "He slept with your sister" she told her. Florence watched as the girl looked around the club wondering where the voice came from. She turned to the boy and asked if he had done what Florence had told her. Stunned by the seemingly out of nowhere question, the boy stumbled over his words told her no, but the girl did not believe him, and she took one of the drinks that was on the bar table and threw it at him while yelling "jerk" and stomping away. The boy looked around in bewilderment while groups of teen stared at him. Florence burst into laughter, but after a few seconds she felt bad. It was an invasion of privacy to read people's minds, but she would try not to act on the thoughts she heard; however, this was an exception. If she had not interfered, the girl would have fell for his trick and make a huge mistake. She was helping people, but why did she still feel guilty. She focused her energy again and tuned out all the thoughts and conversation and extra noise so that all she could hear was the pounding music. She walked into the crowded dance floor filled with wild silent teens, closed her eyes, and let herself get lost in the music and the crowd.

Jayce Wilder (Jay Cross): Admin in Disguise

Jayce appeared outside the only place where someone could actually lose themselves in the city: Naturally, seeing as it was very loud and very full of people. He took a seat at the bar next to an NPC. "The usual, Chief." He muttered his request, but the NPC could hear him just fine. Two seconds later, a strange combination of root beer and milk appeared in front of the odd buy, with his hood still up to hide himself which was pointless seeing as he himself was disguised in this form, but he was being extra cautious as he has not revealed his fake face to the public yet. He had been thinking about Melissa and her proposal this entire time. Just because he wasn't romantically interested now, doesn't make it a no, does it? He had never had to think about this before. He was thinking maybe he should just give it a chance and then something could happen that was real later, but would that be leading her on? It was then he realized that he barman was waiting for Jayce's response to the drink, seeing as the NPCs made sure everything was too their liking before leaving. "Moto bene.exe" He said calmly as the barman nodded and continued serving drinks.

Florence opened her eyes not sure of how long she had been out. She was still surrounded by hordes of silent teens and the music was still thumping in her ears. She was beginning to feel a bit claustrophobic as people were dancing closer to her and squishing her in their mass of sweaty grinding bodies. She pushed herself through the crowd again and took a seat near a boy in a hood at the bar trying to catch her breathe. She looked out into the dance floor at the happy indifferent faces and thought back to times when her brother would take her to parties he would DJ at. She smiled at the thought of how she had to be snuck in since she was always too young, but then she began to miss her brother. "Ugh you came here to not think about that stuff." She looked over to the boy next to her in the hood tempted to read his mind. "NO!" She yelled at herself mentally. "Did you completely forget about what just happened not to long ago?" The image of the girl with the Katniss braid throwing her drink at the boy in the muscle tee came to mind which made her laugh again and probably look like a psycho. "If you want to know what is on someone's mind, ask. Plus, this could be a good opportunity for you to work on your social skills for school." She rolled her eyes at her conscience but agreed. As she opened her mouth to say something to the boy, nothing came out. "What do I say. Just say hello, jeez" "Uhm. Hello there...stranger" was all that came out of her mouth finally.

Jayce began drinking again, when he heard laughing next to him. He tilted his head and noticed there was a girl next to him, and she was apparently laughing for no reason. How... odd. Odd was pretty cool though, so maybe she would be interesting to talk to. But he was here to think, which seemed kind of hypocritical, but thinking is what he was going to do here. He mulled over his own thoughts as he focused on his drink once more. As he was about to finish, he had noticed the girl was speaking to him. She seemed shyer than he originally thought, but she was still interesting all the same. He supposed that given the way he was thinking, it was natural that he blurted out his question before greeting her. "How do you handle someone liking you, but you aren't quite sure how you feel about them? Er, I mean, hello.exe." Yup, still not used to social interaction after all.

"Stranger? What's wrong with you. That's not what people say." Chloe could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks as she knew she made a fool of herself. She snapped out of her self criticism when the boy she had greeted suddenly asked her a question. She stared at him for a for a few seconds not sure of how to react. "Why's he asking me? No one's liked me before." She pondered over the boy's question hoping not to sound like an idiot and dig him into a deeper whole."Well... say something." She sat up a bit taller trying to look as if she knew what she was talking about and looked around the club gathering her thoughts. "I guess, don't lie about your feelings. If you're not sure, then be honest and hope they understand." She nodded to herself as she said this. "Ya, that seems about right." She looked at the boy trying to see if his facial expression would give her a hint as to whether she did well or not.

Jayce had to wait for her response, but he supposed that was natural. For all he knew, she was gathering her own thoughts before blurting out something stupid like just did. 'Alright, that was only mistake, just breathe and relax and you'll get it right next time.' He sighed soft enough to not be heard before the girl responded. When she did, he could understand where it was coming from, seeing as he didn't really supply her with enough information to begin with. "Well, hypothetically, if she was my best friend, how would that work? I don't want to lead her on, which I think I have been doing, but then again I have no idea if I am or not. On top of that the girl is a monster when she's angry, so if she doesn't I am going to get the snot beaten out of me." He removed his hood and began running his hand through his hair. "Let's just say I have a fear of getting my butt kicked and maybe not surviving afterward." He was pretty sure he had been rambling there, but he was prone to speaking kind of fast when he was upset or nervous.

Not sure of how to respond to the boy's question, Florence had to take sometime to think over what he had just said. She wished her brother was with her. He always had an answer to everything and would know what to say. Plus, he had more experience with interacting with others, so of course he would know how to handle the situation. "Well he's not here so get over it. You have to think for yourself." Florence scrunched up her eyebrows as she stared at the boy determined to solve his dilemma.Although she looked as if she had smelled something awful she tried to figure out how he could best handle the situation. After keeping the same face and probably creeping the boy out for what felt like fifteen minutes, she snapped her finger and smiled. "Be a man about it, or well, own up to your emotions, whatever they maybe. Tell her straight up what you feel and if she doesn't like it and kicks your butt, accept it and take some pain pills. It's better than having her wait and wonder. Plus, the way you describe her, I don't think she is one who enjoys waiting for too long." Florence had felt confident about her answer, but after hearing it come out of her mouth, she was not so sure. "Ugh, I should just stop talking now"

Jayce ordered another drink as he waited for her to respond and just about spat half the thing down when he saw her face. That face was comedy gold, like someone just got home and their entire house smelled like rotten eggs and they were confused as to how it got there. Needless to say, he had to hold in the laughter as she continued to think. Her answer though, really got him to thinking about what would happen if she did kick his behind to next Sunday. What would happen then? Would their Admonics switch or would nothing happen? "I suppose that could work... Thanks for the advice." He was thinking of leaving right then and there, but decided he did not have the courage to face her yet, and he had nowhere else to go for the current moment. "I just realized we got all emotionally talkative and we don't even know each other's names." He laughed about that fact for about a solid minute before giving her a hand to shake. "Name's Jay. Jay Cross. Pleasure to meet you, Miss Therapist."

Hearing Jay's response, Florence's mood brightened. "Yes! Haha! I'm a genius." "It's no problem. Anytime." She did not really mean the last part, and as the boy began laughing, she wondered what he found so amusing. ]"Probably preparing himself for the beating he may get." She shook his hand and giggle when he called her Miss Therapist. "Florence Basset, but most people call me Salva." She thought back to the Brazilian city that was the reason for her name and the beautiful beaches.

Jayce shook her hand, glad that she did was a very trusting person, and a very kind one as well. He could do with more people like this in Virtua than he could with all the riff-raff who haunt this club like they were actually dead. Hearing her name, and subsequent nickname, he raised an eyebrow. "So how does someone with a beautiful name like yours end up getting nicknamed after a Brazilian tourist city? Is there some kind of mystical journey or adventure to go behind it, or is it something that you picked out for yourself?" Now he was curious as to her odd nicknames. He would give her his, but that would reveal his identity to her, and he didn't trust her enough for that yet.

Florence gave the boy a quizzical look not used to receiving compliments, especially from a boy. "Well my parents travel a lot because of work, and when they were in Salvador, I was born." She thought back to the beautiful beaches and how she used to love playing in the water. She then touched her ears reminding herself of why she no longer enjoyed such an activity. "They said I loved it so much that when we left, I cried for a day, and my family called me Salva ever since." She gave a small smile not sure of what else to say. "Not much of a big adventure I guess...But what about you? Does your name have any special meaning?" She added the last question in order to not have the conversation only be about her. She was very interested in Jay since he was the first person she had spoken to while at Virtual High, and she knew in order to make friends, one had to listen to others more rather than talk about one's self

Jayce listened to her story with interest. He had never left his city, so he could not even begin to imagine himself outside of the country. He had watched her intently as she told her story, and noticed something with her ears. Maybe she had some sort of ability relating to her ears? That would be interesting. After all, he did not assign people abilities, the computer worked with an algorithm that assigned them, so even the creator of the algorithm did not know the possibilities that it could hold. Sure there were infinitely many possibilities, but his mind could not account for all of them. "At least you have stories and interesting things like that. The only reason I'm named Jay was because that was the doctor on call when my mom went into labor. Apparently he passed out, as this was his first delivery or something." The story was true, but the name was right. He felt bad about lying to her, but he had to do so for identity's sake. "Not to mention you've been places... I was one of those kids who just kind of holed themselves in their room. But now I'm stuck doing this.." He pointed to the screens of the hooded figure before it fizzled out. "My family has always worked PR for the Wilder family, so naturally I am the hidden face that does all the announcements and junk around here. But you didn't hear that from me." He chuckled as if to say 'this sucks.' "But enough about my boring old self. What brings you to Virtua? You a big wig's kid or just an average kid who somehow can't fit in anywhere else?" Jayce knew that about 90% of the 'students' that came to Virtua were divided between these two groups. The other 10% were absolutely average for normalcy sake, so the benefactors didn't think of this as an asylum.

Florence laughed as Jay told her about the doctor passing out. Her parents were doctors, and she could recall many times they had to deliver a child in a hospital, house, car, or any where else a baby could be delivered. She did not blame the doctor for passing out, since the first time she witnessed the miracle of life, she could not sleep for a few nights. "So he works for the Wilders. That must be so cool." She felt as if he was letting her in on some huge secret, and it made her feel special. His later question confused her, but she did not want to seem stupid by asking questions about it, and the description of the average kid that did not fit in appeared to resemble her life, except for the average part. "I guess you could say I'm an average kid." "If you ignore the fact that I've been to almost every country on Earth, my brother is on Mars, and I have super hearing and can communicate telepathically." "I never really fit in at school. Most kids thought I was weird." Florence tried to give a light laugh at the end of her response so as not to make it sound not as depressing. It was true that she did not have friends while at school, but while traveling with her parents, she made many acquaintances with the locals. Plus, the time she spent not interacting with other kids at school allowed her to build a love for pottery since she spent much of her time alone in the art room.

Jayce listened to her reasoning for coming here. He could go either/or with his story out of the reasons he had given her, and he felt guilty for having to lie about his identity, but what had to be done had to be done, so he had to continue lying to her regardless for how much he hated lying in general. "Regardless of monetary status, I suppose that I could fit in with the 'never really fit in crowd.'" He chuckled bitterly at the stereotype. "I mean, I only went to real school for a few years for schooling, most of it was done at home, which was more like grooming than actual school." The bartender slid him another drink, glad that for the momentary pause in order to think up the next part of his story. "I'm an heir of a company that I personally don't like, but I have a knack for what we do. And so I'm here." He swirled the ice around in his glass for dramatic effect. "Anyway, enough about that boring old backstory rubbish. You actually do the whole fighting thing, or do you just live your life like normal?" This is what he was curious about at the current moment.
