With an influx of new trainees and the subtle shift in island weather that indicated summer, Bix had started to take his lunch outside and observe all the various hunters training. He, of course, kept his eye on the Suns but also the Moons as somehow it had become natural to pair the two together.

He was currently sitting in the grass with a sub from the cafeteria and his belted sleeveless coat hanging around his waist. The albino always glowed a bit neon in the sun but thankfully the natural misty cloud cover gave his fair skin a bit of a break.

He munched down the last nub of a sandwich and leaned back on his palms to pat his stomach. "Mmm.." he expressed his sandwich satisfaction aloud as the sun hunter scoped for any trainees who may need a bit of assistance.

When his fullness wore off of course.

Bix had been watching a few trainees fumble with weapons that just seemed awkward but this guy seemed to be having an especially hard time. It wasn't a surprise really when they gave them these weapons that no one had used since ancient times.

Bix pulled the shoulders of his coat up and on, zipping it half way so that you clearly see the sun on his chest, and hopped to his feet. He smirked a bit to see the young man talking aloud to his weapon. He must not have mastered that yet either, not that he was alone in talking to himself.

The albino mosied over with his hands stuffed in his pants pockets. "Hey there.. having trouble??"

"Bix." He offered his hand for a shake and gave Crispin a smile in greeting. "It gets easier eventually. Your balance seems to be a bit off." He mimicked the other's bobbling with the spear.

"No sweat though. It's not like we magically learn to use these things when you get them. And it could be worse.. you could have gotten something bizarre." A magic wand or something on a string or... well ranged weapons could be pretty difficult.

Bix smirked a bit and had a bit of unorthodox advice, "Tried watching any movies? Action movies? Where someone might use the same thing? Sounds stupid but sometimes it helps you get an idea of how to stand or what you could be capable of."

"Well if the flesh is weak, you have to train!" Bix popped a flex, his archer's arms momentarily bulging with muscle. "I was kinda of a lanky goof when I got here. Computer nerd and comic guy and.. well my hobbies didn't really help me be in shape. But since there's no real studying here, especially in Sun, I had to start working out."

Bix looked at the spear which look heavy and awkward to balance. "Has you weapon helped at all? Usually they have a little advice.. ?"

"Might need the strength stat too bro.." Bix laughed. "You wanna start training with me? I wake up kinda early. Jogging and then weights. Sometimes a little heavy bag. There's a guy on campus, Leon, who was a boxer. He sort of got me into that."

Only now did the Sun think to look at Crispin's coat, "Oh cool. Moon? We're like meant to be friends! Eclipse is like.. the trend now. My girlfriend's a moon. Ceres?" She was always doing weird a** missions for people. He may not know her.

Whatever the answer was, Bix summoned his own bow. It had changed a lot since he'd first arrived and now seemed bigger and more imposing than ever. "Don't sweat the weapon thing. I got this gal here and... well ever tried to fire a bow?" he just shook his head. "Practice makes perfect and, ya know, they keep weighted mock weapons in the gym. It might be lighter weight, to get your movements down." Weight aside, Crispin's falling also probably had to do with some coordination issues.

"I get you. I got hella picked on in school. I still have a bit of that.." he made a face. "When guys show up here and you know they are just those... 'I am hot s**t' kind of guys." He sighed a moment. "I don't think you ever lose it but.. Leon's pretty nice. If not, you could always come train with me in the mornings."

Bix grinned to the compliment but almost cooed at Shaiming. "Aw I think Shaiming's awesome.. I'm kind of a nerd for these things. Like you play video games your whole life and then suddenly someone's handing you a real magic weapon? It's like dreams come true!" Minus the fighting monsters who can corrupt and murder you. Let's ignore that part.

"Well it's up to you. When I was practicing using Mina as a close combat weapon, I went and used some of the staffs in the gym first. It helped me get an idea of my range and all that, without stabbing my eye out. But there's really nothing like practice, practice, practice."

He fired off an arrow, the energy projectile appearing in his fingers when he drew back the string. It flew straight and true into the dummy and popped with a tiny burst of red energy. "Have you been ok on missions?"

"Well no way to get yourself out there except to uhh.. heh well PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE!" Bix grinned. "But don't feel bad. I didn't really think at first that I could be a good sun with a bow an arrow. I mean it's all about smashing right? But theres more to all the divisions. Like strategy. Maybe you are more of a strategy guy? Maybe more of a repair guy? Maybe you're good with runics? get yourself qualified on some of those and you can run around and set up barriers and stuff."

Bix gave him an encouraging nod. "We don't get a lot of guidance from the leads unfortunately but.. well it gives everyone a chance to carve their own path. When in doubt you can always switch divisions!"
