"They were giants, twice as tall as your father and very stupid and they were blocking the entrance to the World Tree."

Isidore listened to Phirren, eyes wide. He loved listening to stories about different worlds, his father had told him about some of them, and Phirren had really good stories about others. Isidore wanted to visit all of them, even the scary ones.
"Were you scared?" He asked, resting his head on Scimitar's back. The Grimm puppy, who had already doubled in size since he was found, was curled up on the floor next to him, patiently listening to the stories.

"Me? Perhaps a little." The Nyanko replied with a wink. "Though a giant, stupid opponent is no match for short and clever creatures. My brother and I ran through their legs, then round in circles, they tried to catch us ... like this." Phirren jumped up and made a show at trying to swipe clumsily at something on the floor, his feet became tangled and he fell too the floor.

Isidore laughed hysterically. Phirren told the best stories.

"Once they were down, we zipped past and through the door." Phirren straightened out and pushed himself up.

Kyrie's eyes were as wide as her brother's as she watched and listened to Phirren weave his tale. She looked up towards the ceiling as she tried to imagine something twice as tall as her father. True, she had met others that were taller, but not twice as tall. Her brother's question drew her eyes back to the Nyanko and she nodded in agreement. She was pretty sure she would have been scared if she had come face to face with scary giants. When Phirren admitted he had been a little scared, she smiled and relaxed a little. That seemed to make it a little better somehow. As he demonstrated what he and his brother had done, she joined her brother's laughter and clapped her hands when he fell to the floor.

"And what did you see when you went through?" she asked with breathless anticipation.

"Well, the inside of the World Tree of course." He perched on the stool he had been occupying and leaned forwards. He quite enjoyed entertaining the little godlings, they were always up for listening to his tales of adventure, even if they were a little exaggerated sometimes. "It was dark, and like you might imagine the inside of a tree. It is not always the same though, it depends on thr route and the world. The giants were very ... simple people, their passage was vast, but very dull. Some of the paths are carved with patterns and stories."

Isidore grinned more.
"The World Tree." He breathed, he had heard other people speak about it, but none of them went into as much detail as Phirren, he made it soung exciting and Isidore really wanted to see inside. One day he would, he was going to add it to his list of adventures that he wanted to do.

Cosine had entered midway through the story and was watching Phirren entertain the pair of them. She smiled and walked forwards as he finished, her long skirts swishing as they brushed over the tiled floor.
"I don't think I've seen them sit so still and attentive." She remarked, taking a seat on the edge of the coffee table next to them.

Kyrie clasped her hands together and sat forward a little as he described the inside of the World Tree. To think that each path was different and led to different worlds...

Blinking as their mother suddenly appeared, she bounced up to her feet and went to her side.
"Momma, Phirren was telling us about the giants that were twice as tall as Daddy and how they tried to catch him and his brother. Momma, when can we see the World Tree?" she asked, grasping her mother's arm lightly in her dark hands.

Cosine was not surprised by her daughter's excitement. Anything new and different, any hint of an adventure caught the adoration of all three of her children. A trait from their father, the wanderer perhaps. Cosine like to travel too ... though she was always happy to be back him.
"One day perhaps, when you are older. It is not a place for children." She placed a hand gently over Kyrie's. "There are worse things than giants inside, more ancient, darker things." The goddess raised an eyebrow. "Phirren, have you heard of a world called (need to check name in my notebook)?"

Isidore smiled as his mother joined them too and shuffled a little to lean against her leg. He didn't care if there were scary things in the World Tree, he still wanted to see.

"Hmm, now." The cat man mused. "Yes, it is not the world though, a country within a world called Tieren. A desert country if I remember, the people are not all like humans, it is a mystical place, a land of djinn and exotic creatures."

Kyrie's eyes lit up and she glanced to her brother. She hoped that one day would come soon. Like her brother, she was fascinated by the thought of the worlds beyond their home. To know that there were new and exciting things out there, just waiting to be discovered, that was utterly exciting to her. As her mother queried Phirren, she tilted her head a bit and glanced between them as they spoke.
"Momma... what's a dj...djinn?" she asked, peering up at her.

"It's a magical being, born of smoke and fire. They can change shape and they like to trick people. They are not to be played with." She gave a nod and reached out to rest a hand on Kyrie's soft feathery head. She looked back to Phirren. "Is it still there? Is it safe?"

Phirren nodded.
"Yes, it is still there, I met a group from there in the roots about a month ago, they seemed healthy and optimistic. Why do you ask my lady?"

"I plan to go there, I believe there are some things that belong to me."

A being of smoke and fire? Immediately her imagination went wild and she looked down at her brother. Could he even imagine what that might be like? She certainly couldn't but she was trying her hardest to. Her mother's final words drew her attention back to the present and she looked back up at her.

"What things Momma?" she asked. She liked things. Things were fun no matter how mundane they might seem. Things had stories and purposes and value and she knew her mother's things would be super special.

Isidore was of course intrigued, anything that was new interested him. New worlds, new creatures, objects. Most of all he liked learning about cultures, it fascinated him how they would develop their own ways to celebrate things.
When his mother said she planned to go to this world there was only one question on his mind.
"Can we go?"

"Books." Cosine replied in answer to her daughter's question. "There are some books there that I would like to return to the Pantheon. They belong here." Her son's question she would have to think about. Though if, as Phirren estimated, it was a safe world there was no reason why they shouldn't come along.
"Yes, I could take you both with me."

Kyrie looked to her brother at his very obvious and awesome question. She wished she had thought to ask it. Looking back at her mother, her eyes widened. Books? She loved books! As their mother declared that she would take them with her, she gave an excited caw and bounced on her toes.
"We're going to get to see the World Tree!" she exclaimed, then dropped down to her knees beside her brother to take his hands in hers. "We're going to get to see the World Tree!"

"Yaaay!" Isi cried happily as his sister got excited about their next adventure.
"Can I bring Scim." He asked excitedly, refering to the grimm puppy asleep in the sun, that was not so little any more.

"We are not going through the World Tree." Cosine laughed. "It is too dangeroud I have told you that. We will take the doors and Scim may come too, of course." She looked over to Phirren and smiled. "You will come with us too of course and I will bring Kleo, she knows what we are looking for."

"Awwww," Kyrie pouted a bit as their mother put the kibosh on going through the World Tree. She didn't want to go through some boring old door. Sitting back on her heels, she looked at the goofy puppy that followed her brother everywhere. "Yay! Scim gets to come," she grinned and reached out to pet him. "Will Fin come with us too?" she asked.

"I would imagine so." She replied, her crow companion came most places with her so this world should be no different. "We will leave tomorrow so that gives us an evening to pack up and get ready."

Isi nodded, he knew all about adventures and he knew just what they would need.
"We need to take some food and some water and um ... some other stuff I think."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 23, 2013 9:38 am

Kyrie grinned and bounced up to her feet.
"Come on Isi! Let's go get packed up! We need to make sure we bring Scim's favourite toy too so he won't get bored," she declared and reached for her brother's hand to impatiently tug him up from the floor.

Isi allowed himself to be dragged up and towards their bedrooms, Scim following on after them.
"I can fit his toy in my bag." Isi replied, taking over the dragging and pushing his bedroom door open. "What else do you think we'll need?"
