One fateful day a letter was left at your door detailing descriptive directions to a military facility on the outskirts of the city and these few words

"You have been selected based on meticulous observation for a top priority assignment. Failing to respond within 12 hours to the duty bestowed upon you will result in immediate incarceration."

Once inside you escorted to a enormous planning room. The person who seemed to be in charge began to speak. "We are playing a perilous game now of days. War and pestilence is now knocking on our nation's door and there is potential that the human race can be wiped out because of idiotic politics." He paused ominously before continuing again. "We have found a way to prevent this grim future and you all are the most necessary components of this plan." He gestured to a few men to uncover a large machine and proceeded to say...

"We have found a way to travel in time."

"We will explain while you go. Good Luck." He said before you were escorted to a capsule which had glowing numbers and letters on it that said ' Year 2126/ Month July/ Day 01' and the heavy glass door was shut in front of your face. The world around you faded into black.

The entire expanse that extended in front of me was littered with gun-toting men and women, machinery that resembled a tank but it was much more fatal and fast, and explosions that could swallow up cities whole.

In fear I ran for my life, I ran hard until I couldn't anymore but war was everywhere I turned. "Where am I? What is this place?" I screamed out into nothing and was quickly replied to by the voice of the man who had sent me here. "You are standing exactly where the meeting held place about a century and a half ago...Be calm and wait for instructions."

I was angry, confused, and afraid but I knew when to obey and so I waited for instructions quietly in the snow. "When the others arrive I will tell you what your objective is."User Image

Layla squinted her eyes as her eyes adjusted to the new scene. She was in some sort of armor, but she didn't remember putting it on. There were different pistols holstered in her belt, and a machine gun in her hand. "What the?!" she heard herself say as she almost dropped the gun. She looked up at the other people, one a man with dark hair she had seen before she had gotten to this strange place. "What the hell is this?!" She screamed at them. Layla looked down at her belt, seeing strange weapons that seemed to futuristic to exist. They had a warning picture on them: a picture of flames. Looks like they suited her up that so it was fit to her skills. Fire. Of course. She glared at the people that stood around her. "Who the hell are you people? Where am I?" she asked angrily.

"It seems like we are in hell but I know this is the future according to that man..." I cringed as the cold started to settle in and erase any other thoughts of complexity I had at the moment, I needed warmth.

"Now, Serva look down at the wristband on your left wrist. I want you to press the button on it and slide it to the shield symbol on it." And like clockwork I followed each step. My arm spontaneously began to metalize and soon the metal spread over my shaken body until I was completely encased by what seemed like armor or a battle suit. I tested the armor out by striking my fist against a rock. The armor was the definite victor as the rock lay in small pieces of rubble beneath me.

"Now, what dammit?!" I exclaimed. "Here is your current objective and everything else you need. You are to find a device hidden in a military base and report back immediately. Your time here is limited, so if you do not retrieve the device in time you will be lost here forever." The communication link then fell silent.

"This is insane, why is...damn I don't even have time to ask myself this." I got up and looked at the girl beside me and pitied her, I pitied that she was caught up in this too.

Layla swallowed hard. She didn't even know where the hell she was, let alone how to get to this base. She hesitated before walking over to the dark haired man. "Well," her voice cracked. "I suggest we get to it." She nodded at the map he had, one of the supplies the strangers had provided for him. But what happens after? she wondered. Will we be set free? She couldn't help but wonder if they would let her leave this place alive. Despite the possibility of her death, she didn't seem to care if she died. Yet she still felt fearful of what was ahead. "You know what you're doing?" she asked him. Do I know what I'm doing? she asked herself then.

"I never do...I just go." I looked at the objective information flashing across my helmet. "This device is the cause of this battle, according to this, so it will be on high security...but what does it do? It doesn't say. The directions are all here and nothing else."

I glanced at my armor and saw a button on my other wrist and decided to do the dumb option and press it. Information flooded my mind in waves about the armor and the weapons attached to it like a tidal wave. "Two years worth of training just got crammed into my head..for what?" Then with grim realization I answered my own question "To cut down the training time needed so more people are available to fight..." I began to follow the path highlighted on the map in my helmet.

"This place is so strange, do you know anything about the people who took us? By the way you should press that button, it teaches how to use this crap pretty fast." I spoke as I ran, dodging the boundaries of conflict and misery.

Layla ran next to him. She did as he told and pressed the button. She almost tripped at the sudden feeling in her head. Her head pounded with memories that never happened and training she never experienced. Then the pain ceased, and she was suddenly a cold-blooded killer.
"Jesus," she breathed. "No, I know as much as you do." Layla frowned. She looked at the highlighted path ahead of them. Also on her helmet visor was a mini map of the area surrounding her. A radar was in it, showing friendlies and enemies. "Red dots!" she exclaimed. "I see red dots on the radar!" she panicked. Two enemies ahead, not moving fast. She slowed to a halt and switched out guns with the sniper resting at her back. "They're unaware of our position," the two were visible now. She adjusted the hold on her sniper. It sure was a beautiful gun. Heavy, but the power held within it made it worth the extra weight. "You take out left I take out right?" she suggested, aiming her sniper at the man on the right's unprotected head.

I noticed the two dots coming closer as the woman next to me indicated and I pondered her question for a moment. "It sounds like a plan. But make sure the noise doesn't draw any attention over here, we want to get behind enemy lines quickly, I am not sure how much time we have left or how much resistance we may face so use your weapon wisely." I admonished before taking off the safety lock on my right arm which revealed multiple glowing beams in small pointed capsules. "Heh, not as cool as your sniper rifle but here goes..:

With haste I ducked behind cover and shot one capsule and readied my arm to fire again if the situation became dire. I watched the man that the capsule entered into crumble to his knees then the armor fell apart like an empty shell. "So these bad boys disintegrate the body inside...."

Layla nodded, taking an attachable silencer out of a metal satchel and quickly attached it to her sniper rifle. One quick pull of her trigger and the man was motionless on the ground. "Wow," Layla chuckled, looking at the man on her team. "That felt good." she flashed a toothy, but charming, smile at him. She put her sniper back across her back and held the machine again. For the moment it seemed no one had noticed the noise they made. Layla strided over to the two dead bodies and dragged them with ease into the shadows. She shrugged at the dark haired man. "Just in case," she smiled at him. "Let's continue, then." She continued walking. The radar on her visor went to static. "Huh?" she stopped. "What the hell?" she turned to the man behind her. "This can't be good."

I held a finger on my lips making a 'shh' gesture as I immediately activated the cloaking device on my back and pulled the woman close and hit her cloaking activation button as well.

I pulled her back into the shadows and waited for whatever interference was coming our way to pass. While waiting I saw large vehicles carting things out from behind enemy lines then returning with more items in its cargo hold. After about two circulations of the convoys I hatched a plan.

I crawled to the woman and whispered very quietly "We need to get in those." I pointed at the trucks...then I drew out my plan in the snow. "Got it?" I whispered questioningly.

Layla nodded to herself as she watched him scribble in the snow. "Yes," she breathed, the steam from her breath the only thing showing she was still there. The cloaks worked well.
She heard voices nearing, but they weren't close enough to where she could understand what they were saying. Layla stood quietly, getting in position, leaving her tracks for him. She eyed the convoys in the corner of her eye. They were clear, but she still heard voices and could not tell where they were coming from. She bent down and wrote "Care" in the snow quickly, signaling him to be careful. Even though they were invisible, their tracks could give away the positions. She stood back up, holding her gun at the ready. Layla then waited for the first move.

(lol I was scared to do anything in fear of messing with the plan or anything)

I nodded and hesitated before remembering something. I held out my arm and activated a small thing that was called an E.J.D. It caused the voices to stutter and make cacophonous chatter about not being able to see. In that time I burst into a sprint and grabbed the girl's hand and jumped with her into the convoy's cargo hold. I deactivated the cloak around my face for a moment and smiled charmingly at her. "Electromagnetic Jamming Device. If we can't see them then I say they can't see us either." I put my cloak back up and peered out of the convoy.

We were golden, no one suspected us, there was a lot of damage done to the base so thankfully there attention was turned to putting out fires. 'They won't be able to quell the one we are about to start..' I thought slyly. The directions to the device came back online on my visor for a moment, long enough for me to draw a map in my head.

Layla smiled at him. She then pressed a button on her suit, and it raised the armor to her nose to act as a mask. She then put away her machine gun and took out one of the strange weapons with the picture of fire on them. The convoy was nearing their destination. "Ready for some chaos?" she purred. Before he could answer, she jumped out and landed with ease. She scanned the area. "Clear." she called. With her free hand, she took out a metal sphere. She pressed a button on it, then tossed it towards the building far ahead of them. Instead of it exploding like a grenade, it actually released fire. When the crackling fire was spread, the ball suddenly disintegrated, leaving no evidence of how the fire started. "This oughtta distract them." she smirked, then used the strange weapon. It was a flamethrower. It hissed out blue and purple flames, flames that could go through anything with ease.

"That girl really is something.." I said to myself after she made a perfect distraction with her quick action. I followed behind her. "Lead the way and I will cover you with this little friend of mine~" I pulled out what resembled a shuriken however it could do far more than just cut enemies in half oh no it was much better.

I smirked devilishly as I started to think of how I could use all these weapons on the man that sent us to this hellhole but alas that could doom him to imprisonment or worse so I bit my tongue and focused on the mission.

The fire started to cause a real commotion as people fled to put it out before it engulfed the entire facility in it's gaping maw. But my attention was on the location of the device it began to move which meant someone was moving it to a different location. "We need to go now. They are moving the device."

Layla nodded, then begin sprinting towards the device, suddenly discovering her new and almost flawless agility. She took out one, two men with her pistol she reached from her holster. Adding a silencer at the moment didn't really matter, the cackle of the flames was deafening. Then, there he was. A man with a suitcase in his hand in which the device was in. He was sprinting off towards the smoke. "There!" she yelled, pointing at the man. "Take him out with that, make it silent!" she told him, talking about the shuriken. There were too many enemies in this area to risk it. Layla could hear the yelling of men all around, probably the ones attempting to put out the flames that spread like wildfire. Jesus, do we have enough time? she wondered as she wiped away the sheet of sweat on her forehead with the back of her cold, metallic gloves.
