It had been a long time since Gehenna had been a regular part of the war. After he was able to travel to his planet it was.. different. He wasn't just Kamboja anymore - he was Kamboja, harboring Gehenna's soul inside of himself and losing track of who he was now and who he was then. They were blending, morphing together into one person, and it was.. hard. How did he mourn a life that ended thousands of years before he was born? Too bad a psychiatrist would think he was nuts, because he could do with some good old fashioned therapy right now. Or maybe just a hunting trip. Yeah, shooting a bunch of things also sounded pretty therapeutic. He had perched himself on an old brick wall that separated the public road from an old manor-turned-museum. He liked it because he could look in at their garden without touching it, without ruining it with his foot steps in the grass. He liked to think that if places like this still existed, then it was still possible to have life on earth. He could still.. He grit his teeth and pushed the thought down, turning back up to stare at the moon. From the moon he traced his eyes outward along constellations, until he could see the glimmering blip of light that represented Mars in the sky. It was so far away and yet only a breath's wish. But he knew he couldn't go back to his planet, not right now, not after everything that he had seen. But he also couldn't keep hiding from Gehenna. If this world wasn't a place he could live in, then it was his duty to make it so. Somehow. He'd just.. lost his place in the world of kicking a**. He drew up the soda can and took another long swig. Those that knew him well were probably happy to see he wasn't looking for happiness at the bottom of a whiskey bottle instead. It was a pretty precarious line he was walking these days.

Felyn I really hated my post given a day to let it settle and a review of it, I hope you don't mind but I added more and changed things, mostly the second half >.> sorry about the crappy post Pompeii was leery about being out and about so soon after the carnival... or the carnEVIL as she had been thinking of it. If she had a place to go to be completely alone she might have disappeared for a while but with a business to run and a mother to placate Pompeii wasn't able to find solace in solitude. So nearly a month since the fiasco of the carnival she knew it was time to 'get back on the horse' as the saying goes. So it was with great trepidation that Pompeii powered up and began patrolling. Since she was use to roving the area around her job she went a bit out of the way this night hoping that a different place would be quieter since her normal area was a bit more active then she would like. As the night slowly passed Pompeii breathed a sigh of relief. She had yet to sense anything let alone anything with a chaos feel and it had actually turned into a beautiful night. The weather was clear with only a slight chill to the air, typical for a spring night. Pompeii didn't figure that the stars would have been as bright as they were, but there they were points of bright light sprinkled against the dark sky with a glow in the distance of the city proper. She shook her head in sadness, thinking of the images that her parents had sent her of a unpolluted picture of the night sky out in Midwest dessert. It was like a river of light crossing the sky and her dad said it was so bright that they weren't worried about tripping while walking around at night. To think that there were that many star out there in the universe, that there were how many more planets and asteroids that were not giving any light that we, as humans, could not see... and to think that, at least in theory, every single one of those hidden planets and asteroids could be home to senshi is astronomical. Soon Pompeii would call it a night but she wanted to see the manor-turned-museum that she had heard about that was in the area. She had read about it in local history books. How it once housed some of the most influential people in the area and how the gardens were spectacular in the spring, there was even a hedge maze with a small grotto in the center. It was Pompeii's great sadness that she hadn't had the chance to visit such a historical and beautiful place before not, let alone in the day when she could actually go inside. As she got closer however, she sensed another. After a moment to determine just what she was feeling, since she still wasn't terribly great at that, she knew that it was a order member... stronger then her but not as strong as Camelot or Maia.... and felt more like Camelot then Maia so was likely a knight... then again she might be wrong again. With a bit of hesitation Pompeii walked up to the closed gate of the museum and called out softly, "Hello? Anyone there?" Part of her hoped that no one would answer, that she was wrong on her feeling of another but the other part... the knight part... knew that there was someone there, the question would be if they wished to respond.

Kam felt the weaker energy signature approaching but, given his years of practice, he quickly decided that whoever it was, they simply couldn't be much of a threat. Instead he remained perfectly still and silent, hoping that they were a little less aware of their surroundings. No such luck though. He saw her approaching and drew his legs up slowly onto the column he was sitting on, keeping his body shadowed in the darkness behind the glow of an old worn down street lamp. For a moment he thought she was going to turn around and leave but instead she approached the gate and called out. s**t. That meant she sensed him here, even if she couldn't find him exactly. At this point Kam realized he could do one of two things: first, he could quietly slip away and avoid the first member of his faction that he had seen in months OR he could suck it up and let her know that he was there. If he was going to become an active Knight again then there was only one thing he could do.. "Up here, Frills," he let his leg drop back down again, flopping and dangling down the length of the column. "They close at sundown, so there's no getting through that gate." Fiction1119 No, hun! Don't stress. It was lovely. (:

Frills? Pompeii was glad that her sense wasn’t off but still…. Frills? She looked around and noticed the leg hanging down, following the line of the column. Following that boot clad foot to the rest Pompeii finally spotted the other knight. Apparently the brick provided the perfect perch since that was where the dark red, gold, and black knight was sitting, with no visible care in the world it seemed. “It’s Pompeii not ‘Frills’.” She corrected him, arms crossed. The purple corset-blouse might have been covered in gray ruffles and yes her outfit was rather frilly but that didn’t mean she appreciated being called frills… he could have at least come up with something more original like ruffles or something. She relented a bit and turned back to the gate, “I know but that doesn’t mean I can’t look.” If she really did want to wander the garden she could in theory hop the fence or even hop the wall. The other knight was actually in a perfect spot to do just that, but like her it seemed he would rather look at it from afar then to disturb the solitude the garden promotes. “Who ever planed the gardens did a fantastic job.” Pompeii briefly wondered how much time and money it would cost to create such a look, such an effortless feeling that took serious maintenance. And if she could ever pull off such a feeling at her own home.

"Pom-poms it is, then." Mirth turned his lips half-up in a smirk and he tipped his head back to get the last bits of soda from his can. The long, red-stained dreads stretched down his back and rolled in the hair clip the great superhero fashion designers had given Gehenna. He slipped off the column and landed in a crouch, his boots thumping gently on the pavement beneath him. He eased back up into a standing position and tossed the empty can at a nearby trashcan, free throw style. It dinged hollowly around the inside for a moment before clinking to rest at the bottom of the plastic-lined container. Then his attention slid back to the weaker Knight and the gardens he had been admiring beyond her. Despite his joker attitude, he did sober a little at the sight of the flowers just beyond the fence, shrouded by darkness. He found peace in simple beauty and, after his long years hiking to wherever it pleased him, sometimes he just longed for that. Of course, he still had an image to uphold. "Well, there is a special kind of beauty in anything innocent still left standing in this city. Everything else is crushed by our secret cosmic war and all.." He shrugged his shoulders and cracked the knuckles of the hand sporting his spiked gauntlet out of habit. "But what brings you to this quiet side of town, eh?"

Pom-poms? “I think I like Frills better… at least I don’t sound like a poodle that way.” She practically muttered, she knew he would likely hear but wasn’t too worried about it since it really wasn’t a big deal either way. Pompeii watched as he landed on the ground and tossed his can in the trashcan where it landed. She nearly said three points but held her tongue since she wasn’t too sure what the basketball scoring system was. Would such a distance be three points or just one? It hadn’t really come up in any of her reading and since she wasn’t a sports fan she didn’t watch any games so she remained quiet. Only a look and a nod acknowledged the accurate throw. “Innocent?” The word slipped out before she could squash it. To her, while the glade was peaceful it was not innocent. Beyond the fence the plants were in a constant private war between themselves as well as the gardeners. Each plant, from the grass to the great oak that Pompeii knew was behind the house, was vying for the best sun… the best water… the best fertilizer… even if it meant killing its neighbors. Pompeii was so absorbed in eyeing the garden that she had missed the second part of the sentence not that she could really comment on that since the she had only really just understood the damage this war was having on the inhabitants and the city itself. “Hum?” She pull her mind away from the plants and focused back on the other Knight. “Oh. Well I was just…” How to explain that she didn’t want to patrol her normal walk because she was afraid? “I just ended up walking and I ended up here.” There was no point explaining that she didn’t want to fight and hoped a new place would provide such a place. “What about you?” Pompeii turned the question around hoping to distract both him and herself.

The knight simply crossed his arms and raised a brow as she disappeared into silence. For a moment he considered just walking away from the space case but then he figured he should.. probably start getting to know the new kids on the block. Right? Ugh, where the hell was Meri? He didn't want a new partner, or team, or whatever. "There's nothing wrong with that, it's what I've been doing for a very.. long time." He flexed his hands as he spoke, staring down at the spiked gauntlet that had become a part of him. "But I'm at the end of my vacation, I think. Tonight was the last time I'm going to wallow out here in self pity." He smirked at himself, some joke resurfacing in his memory, but it faded as he dropped his hands back down to his side. "I guess I've got to seek out the last of this power and finally be a good inter-galactic crime fighter." He shrugged, making the metal plates across his chest clink with the shift.

Felyn oh my god o.O i am so sorry i htought i had posted to this "And I'm afraid that my wallowing has only begun." Pompeii shrugged and shook off her melancholy, or at least tried. The easiest way was distraction. "So since your stronger then me but not as strong as Camelot and it seems our system is loosely based on the European Knight's class system you would be a Squire, am I right?" Pompeii had given this a lot of thought and had picked the brain of most other order members when she had the opportunity. That and reading every relevant book she could get her hands on. She eyed the other knight's outfit once more. Noting the reds, blacks, and golds. The armor and general style of the outfit screamed roman or Greek, the color almost cinched it as roman since Greek was more of a lighter color, from what Pompeii remembered from history class. She then tried to figure out what his planet was, all in the name of distracting her mind from the carnival, and the inevitable question as to if he had been there as well. Her eyes lit upon the golden symbol on his belt. "Mars... Roman God of war. Always liked Ares better though since he made for some better stories." Pompeii shrugged and smiled, although her smile was pretty weak.
