Magic || 7 (+0)(+0) = (+0)

Zuri smiled at her lover. He was many things, but fierce wasn't really one of them. It was part of the reason she loved him so. However she was worried. After saving him that one time from the Radaku she became a little worried about how well he could protect himself. What would have happened if she were not there to save him? No, he needed to learn to protect himself! And today was the day she taught him.
"Okay love, even though this is just practice don't worry about hurting me. It just means you can patch me up later." she said with a wink. Zuri moved into a fighting stance and once she was sure he was ready she went at him with her spear. She was going to soften the blows as much as she could, she didn't want to actually hurt him, however going easy on him wouldn't teach him anything!

HIT: 17+5=22/2=11 damage
No paralysis
Biroki wasn't sure about this. He really wasn't sure.
He both didn't want to hurt Zuri... and boy did that spear look sharp...
But she had a point, and since he was thinking about moving out he should at least be able to defend himself.
"Okay... Rea..." he began before Zuri's spear nicked his side.
She was fast! He yelped and, instinctively, reacted with a fast move of his own.
KRAK! lightning lanced from his staff to strike her. He blinked.
"OhgoshZuriI'msosorry" he said frantically, moving to make sure she was okay. That had been a lot of lightnin... Was she okay? He was sorry, he really was!

She laughed, after the lightning struck her as well. It hurt, she wasn't going to say that it didn't, however she knew she couldn't act like it. If she showed how much it really hurt her she was scared that Biroki would stop and they needed it.
"Don't be sorry that was a good shot!" she said with a half smile. She went to go attack him and missed. "I didn't think you would be so much better then me." she teased with a smile and a laugh.

"It... it's good? Really?" He was still a little nervous about hurting her, it was Zuri, after all.
But she was being so complimentary! he was a good shot? Better than her? Nooooo no that couldn't be true! That wasn't true.
"I... Okay." He sent another bolt of lightning at her, but now that it was intentional he was holding back a bit- the bolt wasn't as strong as it could have been. It did crackle nicely in the air, though!

"Well the one before was good, but this one wasn't! Don't go soft. Pretend like I'm someone who would put us in danger! You can heal me later if you hurt me, but I promise I'm tougher then I look!" she called out at him. Maybe if she didn't go soft on him then he wouldn't go soft on her either. It was a hope.
She went towards him, faking left before going right and hitting him on his leg. It wasn't as hard as she could, but she wasn't going soft on him either! That wouldn't do any good for either of them.

dodge attempt: 13+3=16= half damage
Biroki tried to leap aside but only managed to make the cut from the spear go along his leg instead of deep.
"Ow! Ow ow ow! Those things are sh-sharp!" he said, backing up to try to move out of range. He took a deep breath. Ow ow ow! He'd have to get serious, because that didn't look like a nice wound. Actually, it looked like it would need extra care besides a paltry little healing spell! Ow!
At least with some distance he'd have a little bit of breathing room.

Maybe she had gone to hard on him? That cut actually looked pretty bad. She knew he could heal himself later, but still. She didn't want to kill him! "You okay love?" she asked tentatively before moving towards him with her spear held in a defensive state in case he attacked.

No, he was. He was sure right now that he probably was. Probably just overreacting. Probably. He hoped. He watched the spear warily, raising his staff defensively. Oh yeah! He could use it like that! What did you know.
"Eheh..." silly him. He had to calm down, relax. It was Zuri. She wouldn't hurt him... too much.

He was fine, she knew it and he knew it. Part of her felt bad, maybe she shouldn't have talked him into this. Sure they both needed the practice, however maybe he needed to practice with someone else first. She moved towards him but was blocked by his staff. "Baby you have to try to attack me." she told him lovingly. Being hard wasn't working, maybe if she was soft about it.

"Wh... Why?" Biroki moved back, keeping an eye on that spear, "C-can't i be sneaky instead?" he asked, casting what looked like a small flame spell around his hand. But he was really trying something tricky and new. He was aligning leylines of fire magic around her, calling it up slowly so that, in a little bit, she would feel it.
That was what this was for, right? figuring out new skills before he faced something less friendly in battle?

(A little dirty play can go a long way. Attack an opponent with a poison tipped spear. The attack does x.5 dmg and deals an additional 1 dmg for 3 turns. Can only be used once every 3 turns.)

Damage: 19 (+7) = 26/2 = 13 + 13(.5) = 19.5
Zuri sighed. "Yes, you can be sneaky. But when battling for real being sneaky wouldn't always work. Now would it?" she asked him. She wanted to make a point, and hopefully he wouldn't argue with her. She went towards him with her spear again, trying to show him that being sneaky just wasn't going to cut it!

"Wha!" Biroki yelped and did a somewhat impressive rolling scramble out of the way. Yikes! That would have hurt!
"Okay okay! I get it , I get it!" he yelped, flailing at her with his staff. Surprisingly, he landed a hit! He didn't feel sorry, this time. He was too busy being slightly terrified. Zuri was scary when she was fighting. Well, okay, there was a bit of pride there too.
