Occupation: He occupies himself in the gym, his finances are set and working on his build is something he lives for. He gambles quite a bit and tends to find the best bars in town pretty easily.
Physical Appearance: Liam's hair is a hazel brown and is usually styled into a subtle faux hawk if he has the chance. He tends to keep it significantly short. His hair in general tends to have a soft texture to it. He has deep blue green eyes and tends to have a bit of stubble growing on him most of the time. His attire doesn't change much, but that doesn't mean he doesn't change clothes. There's just no point to change clothes often when they're going to be ruined on the job either way. He's into a nice suit and tie in public or just a simple tank-top if he's not working.
Personality:
Liam's personality can tend to be a little over-shadowing at times to the people around him. It's not that he means anything personal about it. He's just naturally dominating in his words, and tends to live on a high horse due to his position as an alchemist. This causes him to be elitist when it comes to other people.A modern day psychologist would call it a narcissistic personality disorder. To him though, this is far from a disorder. It's the only confidence he has, and all he needs. He's a very social person despite being seemingly alone. He tends to throw many people off with that ego of his. But if given the chance he'd talk until he's flat out asleep, or until someone else puts a floodgate on his words.During work he tends to be edgy, perhaps it's the burning heat of his field or just the adrenaline of the job.He's actually very friendly when it comes down to it. Depending on who you are. As stated, he loves company and doesn't mind talking. Sure he'll hold a grudge or two if you interrupt him on the job for something that could have waited, but despite his narcissistic qualities or train of an ego, he's a positive man with perhaps a bit too much on his mind. The only times he's not positive is about every weekend where he proceeds to get drunk and takes out all of his stress by blowing his money and sulking like a wet rag. If there's a cure for his narcissism, it's the beauty another's physique. He just doesn't understand how to flirt. It's almost at the point of impossible. But he'll never admit this, he'll just proceed to blame his faults on other people.Honestly he can act like a stubborn teenager at times. Always looking for someone else to blame and someone to push lower than his level. It's very hit and miss with him. Let's just call it a complicated internal complexity.
Flaws: Where do I start.. his mountain of an ego. It doesn't mix well with other people and conversation if he's too busy getting distracted by his reflection. At the same time the opposite. His narcissism is only temporary and works as a shield for his fears. To be honest, it probably isn't true narcissism. You handle stress by getting a headache and getting some rest? He handles stress by becoming obnoxiously narcissistic. Which he finds to be nothing but pathetic. He has plenty of flaws but another major one would be being an alcoholic. He tends to drink his solitude away at times and he'll drink until he's flat out unconscious. Drinking causes him to have volatile emotions and that's a big reason he enjoys gambling. Plenty of alcohol, and socially acceptable to fight.
Good thing that no-one has found him engaging in these activities yet. He'd have his licence suspended in a heart-beat. Then again, who can afford firing one of the only alchemists willing to work in his position.
Back Story: Liam was born into a rich family. His mother and father both being very successful alchemists. Despite his parent's influence, Liam despised Alchemy. He never had much time with his parents due to them both working in the field full-time. For him Alchemy was just another obnoxious barricade keeping him away from spending time with his parents. Soon enough, by his teenage years. Liam found a new love. Himself. He became obsessed with his physique, driving whatever little friends he had away. He coped well with it either-way. More time to focus on his studies and composure. By the time he was 21 Liam was a decent 170 pounds of muscle and in the middle of his studies of alchemy. Eventually, Liam had his licence. At first Liam worked in Botanical alchemy, but this wasn't very beneficial for neither him.. or the plants. His build wasn't very fragile to the poor green beings and eventually he was re-assigned to a new position. Mineralogical Alchemy. Honestly Liam always knew of it. But it wasn't very broad. To be honest, nothing was said about it. It seemed almost like a peasants job.Even in his studies, not much was said about it other than how alchemy was started from it and how much it has evolved since then. Was.. this a demotion?.. At first it may have seemed like it. Despite the criteria. He entered the field a month later and excelled. It was a great mixture for him. Combining intellect with lifting. Not to mention finally being able to wear himself out time after time. After about 6 months, Liam weighed a decent 180 pounds and already tippled the progression of Mineralogical Alchemy. He definitely made himself known. Liam is the head alchemist of the mineralogical field. Of course having a job isn't all what a life is about. Liam doesn't have many friends due to his full-time job and shaky personality. Not to mention not a lot of people want to talk to some egoistical man who works in the “peasant” part of alchemy. If anyone talks to him, it's about money. Sure Mineralogical alchemy is looked down upon. But it doesn't change the fact that it's income is high, not to mention his family's income. Now at age 28, Liam spends his time loathing in his self confidence issues in the bar or gambling. Most men he know at this age would have a family already. But he's too busy getting wasted to think about that.
Talents and Skills: His physical strength is impressive despite his weight. He's pretty big for a 180 pound man. No matter what he thinks while loathing on the weekends, the guy has charm. Perhaps not with people he has a thing for, but there have been plenty of times where this guy has gotten himself out of rough situations by.. negotiating with someone. This won't always work keep that in mind. One man can't lure them all in. We're all human after-all. (aka: it's not possible to be done on other rp'ers. honestly this seems like a civilized role-playing Guild, that's called forcing another's character into submission. Which is illegal in many Role-playing groups in and outside of Gaia. So no worries with that. If you need more explanation on why this is an almost needed talent for Liam, pm me. )
Research: Liam has discovered plenty of combinations of metals that first weren't tried to be used together due the volatile stature of them Liam tends to work with volatile metals, and large amounts of them. Due to this he gets a quick answer if the metals are worth combining or not.
Hobbies: Liam's an alcoholic, gambler, physical fitness fanatic, and last but not least.. (he'd never admit it without murdering the person who heard it) but he's a pretty decent piano player.
Likes: himself, playing with chance, conversation, people, eating, drinking, complaining about redundant matters.
Dislikes: himself, advice, help, he has a small dislike for certain fields of alchemy still even though he's part of the major field, cold weather, alcohol, people who complain too much.
