Baking: It's easy to lose yourself in a world of flour, sugar and rigid measurements. Anelie loves to bake. At the moment her specialty is cookies, but she's proud to say, that with her mother's help, she even made a carrot cake. For Anelie, there’s nothing better than getting your hands dirty, the smell of baked treats in the kitchen and being able to share all your goodies once they are made.

Watching Animal Documentaries: Like a lot of kids her age, Anelie loves animals. The first store she wants to go to when she goes shopping is the 'Pet Store'. Every Christmas all she asks for from Santa is a puppy or a kitten (though to this date she only has a goldfish). To fill her cravings she spends most afternoons after school watching one of her many animal documentaries; crying where she's cried a hundred times over and cheering for the deer that is just about to escape the jaws of death. She currently owns 32 different titles and will force you to watch one of them with her when you stay over.

School Relay Team: Despite first appearances (totally girl), Anelie is surprisingly athletic and is a force to be reckoned with on the girls relay team. She enjoys the challenge and the camaraderie and also just really likes to win. While she doesn’t care to run outside of school, Sport is her favourite class.


Virtues:

Confident – If there is one things this girl is, is self-assured. She doesn’t doubt her ability to take on anything and moves through life with an innate confidence. This is an effect of her sheltered lifestyle. Anelie has never had any reason to doubt herself and so simply doesn’t. All her life, her mother has told her she can do anything, and Anelie believes it with her whole being.

Generous – Always ready to give time and energy to anyone in need, Anelie is full of generosity. She’s the first one in the playground to tear her sandwich is half because you don’t have anything to eat, she’ll meet up with you at the slightest notice if you need a shoulder to cry on and she’ll lend you her pocket money without expecting it back.

Hopeful – There is a bright future ahead. If things seem bad, they’ll get better. Anelie knows this as her truth. At the end of her path is only light and happiness. Or so she hopes. In the face of darkness, she refuses to acknowledge it and she thinks that every person is really good inside.

Flaws:

Naive – She doesn’t understand the real world. She doesn’t realise the extent of the cruelty and harm that goes on day to day. Anelie has yet to experience heartbreak. She doesn’t understand that things can go wrong and never be made right again. Because of this she often trusts where she shouldn’t. Where other kids might become suspicious over someone’s motives, she refuses. No matter how blatantly dangerous they appear to others. Her mother is quite aware of this and often repeats the warning of ‘don’t talk to strangers’. But Anelie will talk to strangers, even the ones that don’t approach her first.

Quick-tempered – She’s a charming girl but she often expects to get her own way and when things go wrong, she’s quick to anger. She’ll throw quite the tantrum until things are set right and then she’s all smiles again. Anelie gets over her anger quickly, apologizes and expects everything to be fine. She hardly realises someone’s feelings might have been really hurt.

One Track Mind – When Anelie is focused on something, she finds it difficult to shift that focus. If she has something on her mind or something she’s doing, she’ll remain focused on it. Oh, she just watched a new lion documentary last night? You’re going to hear about it, multiple times a day. The conversation might shift, but she’ll bring it up again without fail. When doing a task, she is intent upon it. She won’t allow herself to be distracted. When Anelie is chooses a path, she will walk down it and refuse to deviate from it. This makes her quite predictable and closed to new ideas.
