Welcome to the 2013 metaplot for the Kizi~ This thread will operate mainly as the 'home base' for this event. Each 'phase' will be announced here and as one phase closes, a summery will appear for those that are late to the party so you can easily jump in. This event is open for all Kizi members, members of the Bahari that are hovering about for a visit, or prospect kizi members. If you don't have a lion that matches any of those molds, feel free to play an npc beast of prey or a pre-existing familiar.

Overview...
It was the last thing that Shandor wanted to hear that morning.

Strangers were to be expected, and welcomed if they meant to stay, but bad news was neither expected nor welcome. The two came in the same package and the news had left the gypsy king rattled. The patrons were called to patrol the boarder, doubling their numbers and doubling their shifts. While the mutterings of the fortune-tellers was normally something that Riddle-mouth wrote off, something seemed all too real about this particular fortune-teller's vision. A seer, and apparently, the child of a god.

"You have run from the past so long, it seems it's come to find you." The fortune-teller's warning rang in the back of his mind, "You've invited the muses back in without even knowing it. Seems their followers are not too far behind. Brace yourself."

OOC:

• Common members: Would notice that Shandor is acting oddly at this point. He's pacing a lot, speaking with his patrons on a daily basis, and he's tightened security at the border. They would also be aware of two new strangers within the lands. They may be the reason for the king's odd behavior but they are both a little difficult to approach. The male, known only as "Wizard" seems to have joined the ranks of the fortune tellers but he's not yet opened his services to the rest of the pride. The lioness, "Tail" never leaves his side.

• Royalty: Shandor has approached Fireheart and her family, as well as the gypsy lords and ladies, with the warning given to him by the new fortune-teller. He has asked the gypsy queen to keep the pride calm and her family to keep their ears sharp for any strange activity.

• This metaplot will restore (to a degree) the muses to those that want them back. If you decide you want your lion to go back to the founding state of the pride, there will be some restrictions but the insanity can return, along with the muse, and names inspired by muses.

• Non-Kizi members are welcome to bring in interested lions or lions who left because their muses fell silent. This will still require a joining rp though ample participation could count. If you want your member to join with the cult, feel free, but you will have to work with whomever ends up winning the king of dreams.

• Everyone: Muhali -is- living within the Kizi once more but she has taken a mortal form. No one will be able to recognize her and seers will not be able to 'see' her true form.

The Dreamers...
• "Dreamer" will be a new rank made available to lions within the kizi. These lions are full members of the pride, but they will be looked on more or less... special. Some will even see them as children, regardless of age, and as such they will be limited in what they can or cannot do within the pride.

• Only adults may be 'dreamers'. If two dreamers make a family, their cubs will be given a 'sane' mentor from within the main pride. When they are full adults, they can choose to follow a career or become dreamers like their parents.

• If a dreamer and a non-dreamer mate, there's no taboo there, but the young produced will be raised by the non-dreamer within the pride and exposed to their dreaming parent only in their 'sane' state.

• The dreamers will live primarily in and around the Cave of Muses, a location a mile from the main denning site where the muses appear. While Shandor was fully unaware of this fact, Muhali, the goddess of insanity, has returned to the pride in mortal form. She will find amusement in this small cult of worshipers and bless this small location, including its cave, to produce the exact same effect that the entire pride lived under in the past. However, once away from the site the effect is gone within an hour, returning the lion to a sane state.

• The dreamers will be kept under close watch by pride patrons. This is mostly for their safety as sometimes their madness will make them quite vulnerable. This is also for the good of the pride so that the dreamers don't mistakenly give away the pride's secrets to passing outsiders.

• The Bahari will not allow their members to mate with the dreamers! This is a term that will come about when the prides meet for the lover's ball for the first time.

• The dreamers are still bound by the rules and laws of the pride. Gypsy names, restrictions in mate material, etc. all apply.

• Dreamers live much the way the entire pride did prior to the lifting of the insanity. This means they really have no duties, they're not all there, and their insanity takes on a variety of forms.

One afternoon on the border, a call came from one of the Patrons of a group of lions making their approach. Five in all, they followed a charismatic young lion with a purple mask and a fox's grin on his maw. He approached the gypsies without fear or hesitation, walking as a king among peasants.

This character will require an extremely active player who is willing to work with Thalion for the remainder of this metaplot. He will hold a brand new rank and lead what will become a small cult-like religion within the Kizi. He is an extremely important character so if you aren't able to play nice with the pride owners, if you aren't able to keep up in the role playing, and if you aren't comfortable with the role he plays- do not enter. The others will be far more laid back in how they are issued, but this individual is extremely important to the plot. Still interested? Read on.

Name: Besnik (Romani name- Faithful/loyal)
Age: Young adult
Brief History:
With so many Kizi having dispersed, the stories of their lives have slowly filtered beyond the borders of their former homelands. Those pining after their muses weren't exactly secretive about their loss nor the betrayal they felt when their beloved goddess left them not only without the companionship of their dearest muses, but with a ruler who rejected the idea of the muses entirely. Besnik was very young when he heard of the existence of muses and became enchanted with the idea of them. Once he had grown old enough to wander from his mother and his home pride, he went off in search of these mythical beings. He searched high and low, scrounging for any information that he could find regarding these muses and the gods behind them.

The muses found him one stormy night when he ran into the mouth of a deep, dark cave to escape the elements. In sleeping, a voice touched his mind and an enchanting peace swept over him. The air seemed sweeter and he found himself breathing easily, deeply, and in the months to come, he found himself returning to the cave to listen to the voice of his muse. Over time, he began to attract others, promising them the peace of an enchanted mind and the voice of one who knew them better than they knew themselves.

Soon the group began to travel, and always they found a cave in which to pray and call out to their muses. When the caves were deep and the air was sweet, their muses came to them and welcomed them into their warm embrace.

Now his paws have found their way back to the source of the original rumor that had sent him on his journey of enlightenment. A place now dominated by tricksters, thieves, and silver-tongued sirens. As luck would have it, the pride holds within its lands a cave much like those in which the muses slept. Convinced that he can call on them here, and return the pride to its former state, Besnik has entered the lands as the king of dreams, promising those who will follow him a muse of their very own and a return to the arms of their goddess.

OOC Info:
• Besnik will hold the new rank of "King of Dreams". This is not an actual noble rank, it's essentially a pretty way of saying 'leader of a cult'.
• Besnik will essentially lead any lions who decide to accept his offer and join his following. These lions will receive the new rank "dreamer".
• He will likely have to buddy up to the gypsy queen, Fireheart, because Riddle-mouth will want absolutely nothing to do with him or his 'crazies'.
• You are entitled to a free edit token from Thalion when you win him! I purposely did not edit these lions so you can have some say in what they look like in your own mind.
• You can set his personality as you like! He can be fully aware that he's creating a cult, power hungry and taking advantage of other lions or he can be honestly convinced in his own religion.
• He is a member of the pride and therefore must follow all the rules of the pride. This means he must have a gypsy name, the rules of picking a mate/flinging apply, and he is to remain in secret to outsiders.
