★ The BasicsName : Orik Nickname(s) : N/A Age : Unknown, though quite old as he escaped Poena Privus prior to the curse. Gender : Male Sexual Orientation : Undisclosed Race : Spiritus Class : N/A Stage : 2? 0.o Theme/Type : Lucifer's Lament Abilities : Orik has the ability to bend the laws of physics. He can literally change the realm of reality and how the world works (though only in his general vicinity but his powers can cast a blanket over towns and cities if they aren't too powerful, he cannot change the entire world) for various periods of time. Bigger changes, such as warping time do not last as long, but decreasing or increasing gravity can last much longer. He also has extensive knowledge on biological magics and uses his abilities to change the physical realm to create new life with the use of the dead, though often distorted (See Nine for example). Outside of magic, he is a brilliant scientist who specializes in theoretical physics, which aides him in his ideas on how to fight using ways to break physics with his theories. Occupation : Currently he works under the guise of a physics teacher at Makai Academy. Favored Weapon/Item: He oddly enjoys using beakers full of strange scientific concoctions that can be thrown to either blow up, implode, poison or do other various afflictions to people, structures, or whatever he deems in his way. Quote: "The laws of physics are more like guidelines, wouldn't you say?"இ Physical DescriptionEye Colour : Ice Blue Hair Colour : Black with a single blue streak to the right side of his face. Hair Length and Style : Medium length, tapering off at the base of his neck. [Image Reference] Skin Tone : Porcelain pale Body Build : A lean frame but more on the skinny, less defined type. Fashion : [Second to left!] Anything like that is super awesome. Extra : Orik has bat-like wings on his back (a medium size) He is based off the Fallen Angel, Lucifer, a demon of great strength and great remorse so his eyes often cry despite him not even being sad, thus he would have a tear falling from one eye in the artwork, if that's alright. References Images : Since I've given them in the subject areas, I'll leave this blank.
Personality : Knowledge Seeker- Orik has a passion for the unknown and exploration of the scientific realm. He also enjoys simple research to what has been known for centuries, but exploring the crevices as well as the generally known. He loves knowledge and views it as a passive powerful ability that can tear a nation or construct the most powerful one. Humorous- Orik enjoys a good joke. Humor is a sign of a sharp mind and thus he will respect anyone if they have a talent for comedy. He himself often will laugh off a joke or state something sarcastic in jest. Polite- Unlike the reputation his kind has, Orik is not a vile, evil, angry creature waiting in the shadows to strike out at witches and children. He feeds when he must to sustain himself, but he is respectful and asks permission at a great risk to himself, which creates a need for "followers" of which he has as either friends or unfortunately "worshipers." Outside of feeding, he is kind to others, opening doors for those with objects in their hands, or because chivalry is not dead to him and always saying "yes please" and "no thank you." Patient- Orik has been around for a long time and in his conquests of science he has learned that most things come to those who wait. His experiments can often take years and even his most prized experiment is still in its testing phase (Nine). Survivalist- Orik may be kind to anyone who comes in contact with him, but that does not mean he will lay down his life for someone, or even risk it to protect them unless they have some other greater value to him. Orik has survived this long because he has looked out for himself, and himself alone. He has traveled pathways between life and death, bending reality, trying to find the holes and gaps of what is true life and what is true death, but he would never go so far as to destroy himself for the sake of a scientific question, or because a child was crying in the night. Lonely- While he wouldn't ever tell anyone, Orik is often quite depressed at how his solitary life has played out. He consumes himself within his experiments as a way to escape what is truly lacking in his existence...someone else. When given the smallest bits of affection or kindness, he often lets his guard down, truly realizing just how sad he is. Obstinate- Orik sees something one way, and that is all there is to it. There are no exceptions to this and he will let anyone know that. If it is the way it is, because he sees it that way, there is no budging on the subject. This will often lead to strange altercations of ostracizing people from his life, or casting himself away from them if they do not back down. He certainly won't. Strengths : Scientific knowledge, life experience, accuracy with projectiles, charisma, and being undetected. Weaknesses : A bit selfish, cocky within his experiments, fear of ants (long story...) and Subject Nine.

History: Orik had traveled from Poena Privus before the Nine Heroes ever needed to arise, and even before King Yllarian's rule was usurped. There had been no other reason other than to simply gather information, record scientific observation and one day return home, but after Poena Privus was destroyed and lay to waste by what had happened... Orik had no where to return home to. So he stayed, continuing his research on the physical realm and what lay between until it became his everything. Orik would take months on a single experiment, a single note of observation until he knew everything and anything about it. He'd been cast from his home by those who sought to restore some kind of balance, but was balance correct? Did science seek balance? It was calamity, it was chaos... Even the very definition of the Chaos Theory disproved that life was balance! With his burning desires of exploration and discovery, he became a hermit within the world of witches, only coming out for air when the desire to feed became too great, though he'd never kill them. He valued life far too much, as death was a complete unknown to him... which led him to his next quest. What was life and death? What was true death, and true life? As he practiced his magic, warping and changing reality around him, he searched for holes. He'd even try to reanimate the recently dead, at first, it was animals, but later...the eighth time, it was a witch. He searched for the "otherworld" or death but it was always lost to him. Frustrated, defeated and extremely depressed that none of these subjects ever worked, Orik sought out the comfort of another spiritus and with her, he found some temporary solace, while she was wild and felt all witches were food, she was also beautiful and persuasive. He traveled with her and her band of worshipers. It was then where he found a majin with a particularly rare gift of magic, pure energy... Orik did all he could to try to keep his spiritus lover from torturing him, and forcing him to become a witch eater, but she wouldn't listen. She was engrossed with anger and destroyed the boy's life and body. Anguished by this loss, Orik proposed to piece him back together and bring about new life within him...pushing technological boundaries like no other has pushed before within the world of witches.
He infused his magic into the dismembered body of the majin, creating an android of sorts realizing that just pure magic could not do the trick this time. Orik infused both biological magic and pure science into the corpse, in hopes that this new idea would finally spark something! This body...this Nine...became his passion, his light in the dark! Nine would show him scientific discovery in a new light! The ability to read into the soul, change the mind, work within the confines of the biological body that Orik had never thought possible!
For a time...it worked. He, along with Nine and the female spiritus traveled with their band of followers. Along each and every step, Orik would use Nine to explore the depths of people's minds, searching for any signs of proof there was either no life after death or something else... Or even a state of ascension! Was it locked within the mind? Or no? Though his solace within Nine destroyed his relationship with the other spiritus and she became extremely bitter against him.
Nine had also done something inexplicable. He betrayed Orik... Nine had slept with Orik's lover, though now in this point in time, he wasn't sure if he could call her that. She had done this for revenge, but to Orik's surprise, Nine had done it for freedom. He revealed each passing thought the other spiritus had on Orik, leaving him angry, abandoned, and most of all...lonely. It was then that Orik knew Nine had adapted, and that this journey was to come to and end with his most prized experiment, at least for now... Orik would never let Nine simply leave him, but Orik would have to flee for his life...
His abrupt abandoning of the group led the other spiritus to suspicion and she too fled, leaving her precious band of witch eaters to the mercy of Nine, of which Orik made sure to watch as Nine killed them all. Content for now that Nine was alive and that Orik would never truly find himself lost to his experiment, Orik left, searching out the answers to Subject Nine and formulating new ideas for Nine in the future...when he was ready...
Orik found himself in need of finances to pursue his experiments, and came to find employment within the Academy at Makai. Here, within the bowels of the school, Orik still experiments, binding life and death together, changing and warping reality as he sees fit, searching for answers to every question. But will he succeed? Or will Nine come to destroy him one day? Plots:
