There were dreams. And then there were dreams. Molan didn't particularly pay much attention to dreams usually. He dismissed them as brief fantasies that danced by and vanished as quickly as they'd begun. That was how he saw them. It made things less complicated because he didn't have to look any deeper into them.

So when a strange mirror if yourself appeared in one, seemingly staring at you through it curiously, you had to wonder what you ate. Especially when it said it had a lot of interesting things to say. Even when you repeatedly stated you had no interest. Because... Molan had a firm belief that talking with himself too much would be a clear sign of insanity. He didn't want to make a habit of it, or even go on explaining it to anyone. This was one thing he didn't really think he'd be telling Etzer about. Not as it... he... started babbling to him about some kingdoms or something.

"You know, Edric wasn't so bad." There was no such place as far as he knew. "I wouldn't know." His tone was flat, willing the apparition away as he watched him, more annoyed at the calm smile that overtook the mirrored features. "I could tell you. Actually I'd like to-"

"What if I'm not interested in hearing?" There was a pause, the figure seemed a bit confused, and then a light smile again. "I see we share that." And then he looked equally puzzled with the figure who was just amused, and almost annoyingly calm. Collected about this whole event that just screamed that he'd finally fallen over a ledge and into the realm of insanity. Because that was oh so comforting. "As I said. I'm a fragment of you. We're alike." That bit again, he'd said it earlier. Something about an alternate world that existed briefly and being him, and yet... not.

"We're not the same." There was a small noise as the other figured mused, then nodded slowly. "I'm far more open to change and curiosities than you it seems." Ah, it really seemed his 'other self' had a way with annoying him. Actually, he quite wanted to tell him to just get out and go back to his 'Edric' if he liked it so much. But he seemed to like insisting this was so important. "I'm just here to talk a bit."

Was he always this persistent and talkative? And did he always have a look that said he'd resigned to his fate? This other him seemed like he didn't care how things were now... why?

"Is it a conversation if it's one sided?" He stated, voice empty of much care as he watched the mirror of himself tilt his head briefly, obviously musing over it. "Rather, it would be a lecture." Great, he was lecturing himself now. Was it going to tell him to take notes or something? Really. This mock version of himself even looked too human for his own liking. Plain and normal. Not unlike a reaper, but even lacking any real indication that he might have had some special skill. In truth it left a bit of a bad taste in his mouth to think of himself as a human. He didn't detest them, but he certainly wasn't one. He was proud of what he was and saw little reason to be anything else.

Though maybe it wasn't right to hold it against that... other self? He'd only known being that, right? "You're staring." Or, maybe it was entirely just to dislike his pseudo-clone. Because his other self apparently needed to go back to it's own place. "I was merely trying to figure out why I would ever desire a lecture from myself." A slight huff was offered as he crossed his arms, ears falling back as he glowered at the other person before him. Honestly, that fellow seemed far too cheery. Carefree?

"Well, perhaps as a warning?" Not exactly something he'd expected. Wouldn't an imaginary world have nothing to do with him? "Why would your events apply to my life." Then there was that knowing, ever so calm, smile. One that accepted what was and had been. Really, this fellow wasn't any older than himself and he acted like he'd seen it all. "Because you don't realize your own faults until it's too late?" Why would he say that? What had he, that other self, done?

He wouldn't have made a mistake he regretted to that extent. He always thought things through before doing something. ...minus that one time with the mop. But here, this lookalike was suggesting he'd missed something? "Like?" Even as his eyes narrowed the other person seemed pleased, leaning his chin on one hand as he seemed to sit down on an invisible ledge. Ah the wonders of the dream world.

"Well... let me just explain a bit about my world then." Why did he get the feeling this was going to be an annoying story?
