3nodding I live in the tropical part of the USA; and I've noticed a lot of those trails in the skies too. Only the local news of individual states seem to have investigated the matter:

That's the only solid answer I've been able to find about what they actually are (aside from the official explanation given by the US Air Force [
»] which isn't comforting at all; aside from contrails, they're spraying pest control/insecticide/ aka spraying poison in the air, plus commercial companies are "cloud seeding" to produce rain [who knows what kind of long-term effects that will have on the weather], but back to the bill):

The bill ("Space Preservation Act of 2001") intended to implement a world treaty which would ban space-based weapons. I can't find any information on whether it passed into law or not (I'm guessing it didn't; I was 11 at the time, lol, don't kill me). I actually wanted to vote for Kucinich back in 2008, but he didn't make it out of the caucus/presidential primaries. So, I voted Obama
