Personality: Honest, straight-forward, and generally amiable, Joss can flip on a switch if he discovers someone being hurt or abused in some way. His temper, though explosions are rare, can be a terrible thing to behold, and he isn't afraid of getting in the middle of a physical altercation -- which isn't the wisest thing for him to do, necessarily, as Josiah is blind, and has been since he was a toddler. He has learned how to fight despite it, listening to auditory cues, pushed by a powerful sense of right and wrong... and maybe, just maybe, a bit of adrenaline addiction.
He is a stubborn creature, and resents other people trying to do things for him. He'll try to do things himself, even if it's much more difficult, just to prove that he can -- even though occasionally it goes terribly awry. Generally, though, he is a kind and helpful person, who prefers listening to book readings, playing the piano, and spending time with his friends above all else.
Skills: Having developed a strong memory over the years, Joss has become rather good at repeating back songs, melodies, and poetry, after only hearing things once or twice. Despite his blindness, he is skilled with his hands, once given instructions and shown where necessary parts are.
Strengths: A keen personal moral code and a strong body and mind.
Weaknesses: Entirely too stubborn, often to the point of pain.
Background: Josiah grew up in a moderately wealthy home, which is probably one of the few things that saved him when the fever struck him as a toddler -- they had access to a doctor and good care, and Josiah made it through, losing only his sight to the ravages of the illness. He was physically weakened as well, but plenty of fresh air and playing in the countryside helped him overcome that and become the strong young man he is now. His family is extremely close, and he knows full well that he is lucky to have come from such a loving, steady household... Especially one that has a lot of practice at helping him do things himself.
