xoxo Growing up in a rich, aristocratic family was not easy for Christine. All the rules, the constant attempts to pound proper etiquette into her head, the expectations--she hated it all. While her brothers were shipped off to military academy and she off to a high class private school, Christine decided she'd had enough of it and she started to rebel. She wasn't stupid enough, or low class enough, to descend into alcohol or drug abuse, fortunately, but her attitude and behavior got her into trouble at school more than once.
xoxoIn high school, she finally got herself expelled after being caught sneaking a boy into her dorm room. She didn't fare much better at her next school, and her parents, somewhat at a loss, threatened to disown her completely if she didn't straighten up. Christine managed to clean up her act long enough to make it through school, but did not hold back on the partying once she hit university. She managed to get a business degree (much to the chagrin of her parents, who were hoping she would attempt something a little more challenging) and left home as soon as she was able. She spent a few years on her own, and did pretty well. Despite her refusal to act at all like the lady she was raised to be, she kept herself out of too much trouble.
xoxoUntil her attraction to dangerous men landed her in an abusive relationship that went sour very quickly. She finally contacted her parents again after a fight with her boyfriend landed her in a hospital ICU for several weeks with numerous broken bones and second degree burns. She moved back home and stayed with her parents during her entire rehabilitation but when news reached them that her ex-boyfriend's charges were cleared due to lack of evidence, Christine and her parents decided it might be best for her to move where he couldn't easily find her again--fortunately, her brother and niece had moved off to some island in the middle of no where so it was easy to ship her there as well.
xoxoShe hasn't sworn off men, in spite of recent events. But she has sworn that the next man that ever hits her is going to come out of the situation missing several critical appendages.

Due to her recent experience, Christine is very skittish around open fires and can be a little clingy at times.
She still has numerous burn scars on her back and left shoulder from the encounter with her last boyfriend.
The same incident resulted in a severe head injury that damaged the structures in her left ear, resulting in permanent hearing loss. She now wears a hearing aid on that ear.
