Zel had gathered up the books that had caught his eye this go around of the library, mostly theory books and the like. There was no way for him to practically apply scaring techniques at school - and he wasn't about to try anything shifty to even do more than research theory. He was only a first year student, but he was trying to pin down a possible career as soon as possible. He liked having prospects - he liked having goals.
Right now it was all about knowledge. Taking his stack of books into one of the back study rooms, he dropped them on the table with a loud bang.
He didn't think anyone else would be in here. Not this close to lunch.

His nap was going rather well, it was nice and warm in the study room. The peace of the room allowed dreams of running around in his home forest chasing after lightning bugs to fill the little foxes head as he snoozed. However, pleasant his dream had been they came to a screeching halt when a loud thump startled him awake. Jumping at the thump the little kitsune bumped his head right on the bottom of the table and groaned, "ouuuuuuuuuuchy!" Grumbling and rubbing over the sore spot on his head the kitsune wiggled to peer up and out from under the table.
Staring at the fiend that ruined his dream, he pouted angrily and pointed a finger at the other boil. "Hey what cha do that for can't you see someone's sleepin in here?" A bushy red tail flickered around the leg of the table, curling tightly around said leg before letting go and moving to rest on the kitsune's legs. Now sitting cross-legged under the table, Tavi pouts up to the boil waiting for an apology.

Zel raised a brow when the little fox-boil crawled out from under the table. He had just been about to open up one of his chosen books when he was suddenly getting accosted by the other male. Sighing a bit, he put the book down slowly and listened. Shaking his head he crossed his arms across his chest. "Well, no - you were under the table, so of course I didn't see you under there. I am sorry I disturbed you, I didn't think anyone would be in here this close to lunch. If you'd like, I'll just move over to the next room." He motioned to the stack of books. "I just wanted to get some light reading in."

At the sigh and the crossed arm look Tavi wrinkled his nose up and rolled his eyes, just as sassy. With cheeks now puffed the little red-head pushed his lips to the side and swished his tails in a rapid annoyed motion behind him. The fanning of his tails causing a few pages in the open book to flare up.
Tavi looked down for a moment as the other boil explained himself, technically it was true, he had kind of being hidden, so maybe- but still!"Well, a'rite...I guess that makes sense but hey next time look ok! Cause maybe if you would've looked you could have seen me." He wasn't going to let the other off that much cause he still could have seen him of course. At the idea of moving he shrugged his shoulders and moved to shuffle into the seat next to the other boil. There wasn't a reason for the other boil to move now was there, since he was awake so why not let him stay?
"No that's ok, hey hey so what cha readin on anyways?" Moving a hand up he flips the book over and examines the cover, for a moment struggling with the title but eventually announcing it aloud with a curious head tilt.

"I don't generally make it a habit of looking under tables to see if there is someone sleeping there, but I will make it a point to do so in the future." Zel chuckled weakly, before slowly picking up the book and sitting down at the table proper. "It's just a collection of essays on the theory of scaring. How to properly make humans jump out of their skin and run the other way." Zel smirked. "I'm trying to gather as much of the theory as I can so I can put it to practice someday. I want to prove to my parents that they were right to send me here. I know it was hard for them to let me go."He smiled at Tavi before setting the book aside completely. "I'm an only scareling you know - what about you?"

For a moment Tavi turned a slightly admiring gaze on the taller boil, he wanted the same thing as him it would seem, to prove it was a good choice in sending him here. "I like that! Hey hey...maybe you can help me too? I really want to prove the same thing, only ..I kinda get sidetracked." Admitting that was hard and with the admittance the kitsune flattened his ears and pouted again.
Shifting in the chair he shook his head then reached up to scratch his ear, then soon after started to stroke over his tails by pulling them into his lap, fidgeting out of pure habit.
An only scareling, the first thing Tavi thought was, "that must'ah been lonely huh?" Of course he blurted it out as soon as he thought it and felt no remorse for doing so, "though yanno sometimes I wish I was, but I like most of my bothers." The most was clearly pronounced in a way that left it clear that there were some inner family problems.

Zel smiled at the fox-boil and nodded his head slightly. "I think I could help you out, I have no problem in helping tutor you if you run into something you're not quite sure about, or we can study together, I'll give you the number to my eyephone so we can stay in touch."Shrugging a little at the smaller boil's comment he smirked. "Eh, you learn to fill in the emptiness with friends - or pets - or in my case, both. At least you get along with the majority of your family?"He wasn't sure what the other boils in Tavi's family did to set him off like that - but it was obvious there were some pretty hefty family issues going on - and Zel wanted no part in that. Holding out a hand to the other boil he grinned. "Name's Zel by the way."

Grinning from ear to ear the kitsune nodded eagerly at the offer, "That's great! Yea yea, let's do that all of it! I mean if you want, cause I don't mind studying together yanno and then if we do that is easier for ya to help me too! " Eagerly he rambled on for a moment before pausing to catch his breath and pull out his own eyephone, the baby blue and sticker ridden device was quickly handed over to the bigger boil.
"There ya go just pop it in !" Giggling he wiggled a little in his seat then turned back to look at the books. "Hmm...what kinda pets you got? I have lots of minis! " Casually or so he tried, he avoided answering the question about his family not really wanting to talk more on that particular subject. Noticing the movement in his peripheral he turned and blinked at the extended hand for a moment. With a tilt of his head Tavi giggled again and flicked his fluffy ears happily, "I like that name, you can call me Tavi, kay?" Grabbing the hand with both of his smaller ones he gives it a hearty shake before letting go.
Turning back to the books he picks one up and smiles enthusiastically, "maybe you can read some of them aloud so we can study together now?" Tavi gave Zel the eyes, after all he figured it was worth a shot if the older would do it since he really liked books being read to him.

Zel's brow shot up at the question of if he could read the book aloud. Clearing his throat a little bit, he chuckles softly. "Well... It's a little unorthodox but I don't see why I can't. If it will help you focus on the material..." He made a vague hand gesture and opened the book, turning to the first page of the chapter. "Chapter One - The importance of FEAR..."

Tucking his feet into the chair Indian style he sits happy with a smile as the other boil agrees to read to him. "Yeah! I bet it'll help a lot cause I can remember all the stories my older brother has read to me!" He bristled slightly recalling the one about the hounds. Propping his elbows up on the table he leans towards Zel as the other boil reads, listening intently and nodding from time to time. After what seemed like hours of reading, Tavi's eagerness and eyes started to slowly drop bit by bit. Though he was dozing off and on his hand continued to brush over his bound tails, petting them lazily out of habit like a scareling that sucked their thumb. The petting mixed with the soft reading voice of the other boil was in all honesty lulling the kitsune to sleep. "....Nnn.....Mocha you can't use ...fear.." Tavi muttered under his breath, officially lost to a dream of his favorite minipet trying to battle him.

They'd only made it about halfway through the chapter before the smaller boil fell asleep, which left Zel wondering what sort of thing the boil was used to reading if the first chapter of a rather robust reference book knocked him out cold. Sighing a bit, he pulled his tail from the floor and slowly snaked it up to tickle the back of the other boil's head. If that didn't wake him up, he might have to resort to more drastic measures, but he'd like to avoid causing bodily harm if he could. Zel had stopped reading aloud as soon as the other boil had started to mutter in his sleep. So the room had fallen quiet.

Snoring softly along with an occasional muttering of randomness, the kitsune was blissfully unaware of the other boils intentions of waking him up. When the tail tickled through his hair a small giggle was given then a pull of his lips. His dream had taken a fun twist, instead of fighting Mocha he was now playing with her and the little scamp was tickling him with her tail!
A few more soft giggles sounded before his body responded to the tickle by having an arm move to swat at the source of annoyance. "Knock...et..of..Mocha.." Slowly rousing from sleep Tavi blinked to clear his fuzzy vision. What? A slow lazy movement of his head had him peering up to Zel, sleep flushed and grinning innocently. "A-are we done reading the book?" He asked sheepishly while rubbing the heel of his palm over his eyes.
Tavi could only imagine what kind of stooge Zel probably took him for now but in his defense he was up all night making sure he knew the campus! Maybe he should tell Zel, that could save him some reputation points? Tavi pouted to himself while clearing his eyes of the small amount of sleep that had gathered. He really didn't want to give his first new friend a bad impression of him!

Zel chuckled and let his tail drop, pulling it back to his own feet as he looked at the smaller male. Tilting his head a bit he smirked. "We got about halfway through the chapter before you decided to take your little nap. But we can be if you'd rather do something a little more engaging."Zel had stressed the last word on purpose. He wasn't upset with the boil - he understood that this wasn't everyone's favorite thing to do. Regardless, he closed the book and put it aside, smirking. "So what do you like to do Tavi?"

Engaging? "Yea..?" Tavi nodded slowly to the bigger boil and leaned back in his chair. "Hey hey, but we can still study together right? Promise I'll be more awake next time kay?" He didn't want to lose his new study-buddy just yet afterall.
Watching the other move the book to the side he props his head up on the desk, staring at the smirking other. Things he liked to do? Tavi gave a long thoughtful hum obviously thinking about the things he liked. What did he like, there were so many things perhaps he should just say his favorites?
"Um, I like minis, uh I like swimmin and uh playing with n'making toys!" Wiggling a little he moves a hand into his pocket and pulls out a pencil with some fur glued to it. With the fur it looked a little more like a mini than a pencil now. "See? Cool right! If you want I can make ya one!" He totally would to, because they were friends now and all.
Sitting the pencil on the desk top he strokes over his tails happily and turns giggles softly. "Umm I like to go outside a lot I guess.." Tavi trailed off for a moment before a soft flush hit his cheeks at a sudden realization. "WAY!?"

Zel would have politely declined the offer of his own pet... pencil - had it not been for the fact that the younger boil seemed so enthused about it. He chuckled a bit and nodded slowly. "Sure, I'd like that." He wasn't against it, and he was sure the boil would have fun. As far as studying he wasn't against them studying together again - he would just hold the boil to his word. "Just be ready to learn and we'll try again when you're more rested." After all - it wasn't a huge deal really. "Hmmm?" Was all he said in response to the other boil's sudden outburst.
