Clerise looked around: good, the kitchen was empty-- not a straggler in sight. Good thing, too, because she had nefarious purposes in mind. Well. Less nefarious and more juvenile, but her new pal Jed (unbeknownst to her, it was actually Mark in a lab coat pretending to be a Life Technician) would probably appreciate the thought. "Psst!" she stage whispered at her partner in crime, in a manner that was not very quiet at all. "Do it! Do it now!" Clerise jabbed her finger at the pot of coffee. "It's a fresh pot, too."

"Dude." Mark stared at Clerise, boggling. If she hadn't noticed, he was finally wearing his Deathly Death Hunter coat, because he sort of assumed that she actually knew who he was, how could anyone not know about Mark the Awesomenator. "That's never going to work. Okay, look, the secret is to bribing, and I have it all here-" and then, he pulled out from god knows where a bag of Italian coffee. It carried rich tones even from a distance.
Slowly, and a little secretively, the Death assist took out a few bags. Aged Sumatra, Brazillian. Blue Nile, Ethiopia. Carmo Estate, Brasil Espresso: 100% Bourbon. Still giving Clerise the untrustworthy stink eye, he dumped out the contents of the current coffee right into the trash dispenser and then pulled out a new filter, setting up a new fresh batch of coffee. As there were three coffee filters, Mark did this three times.
When he was finally done, after all that tedious setup, it had already attracted the attention of a few Hunters, who were only afraid to approach because Mark. And since Mark was also in ninja Death spy mode, he made his way right under the coffee table and hid himself between the white table folds. Incognito.
"Okay," came the muffled voice from under the table, "I set the runes on each coffee cup, so all they have to do is take a sip of the coffee. Then just like, write some effects and stuff for me, but make sure to watch out of the big booby ones cuz those are like, the most important. For science and research and stuff, let's do this!" It seems to be free, or maybe, though Clerise is handling the contents and handing out free samples! Free! You swap bodies with the next person you touch. It's only temporary, about 5 minutes geez, but the effect is slightly disorienting. 5. You grow a pair of luscious DD breasts even if you are a man. If you are a man you just grow a pair of boobies but are clearly male. Awkward. 6. You start turning invisible, but only half of you (you can choose which half). Unfortunately since the other half of you is visible, it just looks extremely odd. gaia_crown Step 3: Clerise is supposed to be uh, watching you. You might want to talk to her about a cure....

Peyton walked in, saw a literal giant passed out on the floor in front of a very tall woman, and debated just turning the ******** around and walking right back out.

She watched Mark with vague horror and almost respect (ALMOST) as he proceeded with bribery. She wasn't too hot on coffee as anything besides fuel, so it was all a little. Well. Lost on her.
After Robert passed out on front of her, Clerise produced a funnel from somewhere in a cupboard, and proceeded to use it for, well. Funneling. Don't drown Robert!
She looked up at some pea-sized little girl. "Hey," she said, pointing at her. "Come hold this. Want a cup, by the way?"

Melvin hadn't been sleeping well the past few days, and hadn't felt productive even though he was using lab-work and various signups for Life duties to distract his troubled mind. Coffee had always been the lifeblood of most of the Life department, and had been one of the biggest errands he had to run when he was a trainee just out of the pod. Coffee kept you going, awake, and from sleep and the troublesome thoughts that came with it.
Used to the acidic, burnt smell of bad coffee, the alluring aroma of something Grade-A was enough to be a bright, visible cloud wafting through the hallways like a smoking hand curling it's finger as if saying "This Waaaayyyyyy."
Melvin turned on his heel and entered the room to see coffee perking and coffee being separated into individual cups. "What's going on here?" Was someone having a party, and if so, could he pretend to know whoever the party was for in order to have some coffee?

Too late, she'd been spotting.
Shoulders hunching only a little, Peyton obeyed, walking forward to kneel beside the fallen hunter so she could hold the funnel steady. "Ah, sure?" She wasn't a huge coffee person, but she wouldn't object to some free java.
The dainty Sun looked up as another person joined then, and after a second or two of staring she turned her attention back to the funnel.

As the scalding liquid bubbled down his throat, Robert sputtered and coughed, grabbing the funnel and holding it until he'd swallowed every last drop, before throwing it away. And he wasn't mad - no, this was exactly what he'd hoped, and expected, of Clerise. Coffee forced down his throat when he was too tired to actually get the drink himself was the perfect way to revive himself out of his exhaustion.
But it would take a minute to get to him, so he curled up around Clerise's feet, his arms wrapping around one of her legs, and cuddled them like a teddy bear, mumbling up at her sleepily. "mmthanks, sugar."
Just five more minutes.
All the parts of his body hugging Clerise turned invisible, but she could still feel his love.

The addition of a growing number of troubling external pressures (and the constant internal one that was Svensyl) drove Mimsy towards fetching more and more coffee to be able to concentrate. All was well and normal - until she noticed that, for some reason, the coffee was Clerise-serve.
"What are you doing?" she asked, stopping a couple of feet short of the table.
<HELLOHELLO I SAID HELLOHELLOHELLOH-->
Despite his efforts, it appeared that she had no intention of relating Svensyl's message.

"Celebration!" Clerise replied in a jovial, sing-song tone. She jabbed a thumb in the direction of the coffee. "Help yourself to one cup. Trust me, you can't have more. There's not enough for everyone, you see, and that'd make you a selfish t**t, but I know you're probably not, so." She waved her hands at the ambrosia.
All the while, tiny-thing helped her force-feed robert Mark's Special Blend. TM. "Shhh, Robert," Clerise said in a soothing tone, patting his head and futilely trying to disentangle her leg from his grip. "Just let it happen."
Partially invisible? Clerise reached for her clipboard-- where it had laid abandoned on the ground beside her-- and jotted some notes.
"Oh, you know, Mimsy." Clerise smiled, and it was like a wild little rabies-infested mob. "Science."

Then went back to sleep with his cuddly Clerisebear leg.

It was fortunate for Clerice, though very unfortunate for Peyton, that she'd helped herself to a cup of coffee before half of the sleeping hunter had started to disappear. She didn't notice that little bit of ******** until she'd already taken a drink, and instead of spitting it out like she'd intended she ended up choking on it in surprise, and a tiny amount dribbled down the back of her throat.
For one tense moment she waited, but when nothing seemed to be happening she relaxed quite a bit.
More then a bit.
A rather serene smile slid along her lips as she regarded Robert on the floor and everyone else that was there or arriving. She sipped her coffee delicately.

Having completely missed the fact that Robert's invisibility came after his consumption of the coffee, Mimsy just chalked that much up to...well. Robert. She glanced at him before looking back to Clerise, blinking suspiciously.
"Right. Would that 'science' have any correlation with this coffee?" She looked as if she was going to back away, already shifting to move her foot backwards.
She sincerely hoped not.

Melvin only questioned the coffee because Robert was on the floor, making him think he was poisoned, but the coffee smelled too high grade that it was worth the risk. While Robert was being funneled his drink, which made Melvin cringe at the idea of hot coffee on a tongue, he took a cup and went to fix it, adding some cream and sugar.
As he turned and took a sip, he swallowed just before Robert started to go invisible. This was not normal coffee.
Looking at his own cup, he looked at his person but saw no parts of him turn invisible. Just as he was about to breath out a sigh of relief, he felt a sort of tingle across his body akin to when your leg fell asleep and was just waking up, and then noticed his arms start to tense and seize before relaxing, popping up and expanding with new muscles. His turtleneck, a nice choice for a lank Lifer, was suddenly restricting and held against his chest. Melvin now knew what it was life to become the Hulk, and he took a breath as his collar nearly strangled him.
"What the hell?!"
Melvin was now He-man.
