Valkyrie stared down into the water of the river watching the fish swim about. She frowned as she considered the best way to catch the main course of her lunch without getting soaked. She had already gathered some berries in a leaf 'bag' that was sitting on a rock a short distance away. Eying the side of the bank unhappily she started to pick her way down. Clinging to the bank with her claws she waited for a fish to get close enough to grab. When a fish swam within reach she let go of the back with one front paw and curled her talons into a hook like shape. Just as she swiped the fish out of the water she slipped. The fish landed at the top of the bank and she landed in the water with a slash and a curse.

From a short distance away, Zeb had been watching the foxlike creature, snickering as she fell in. He sauntered over, his plume and tail bouncing as he went.
"Marvelous job deary. Couldn't have done it better myself. Oh wait, yes I could." He sneered at her. He stayed on the bank where it was dry, not offering to help the mare get out of the water.
He was feeling extra vindictive today, and so bent down, took the fish in his mouth, and mumbled around it. "Thanks for lunch, by the way," and turned to walk away.

Valkyrie sputtered in disbelief as she stared at the stallion. Did he really just steal her fish? With a growl she launched herself out of the water and up the bank. Upon reaching the top she stopped for a moment to catch her breath. Soaked from head to tail tip she looked more like a drowned rat then a regal fox-dragon.
Snarling she started to move towards him, her tail puffed up and lashing back and forth. "Give me back my fish before I pluck you like a turkey!" she shouted at him between growls.

"You'll have to catch me first!" he said, turning to run. He took off, trying to run with the fish in his mouth. He ducked and dodged under some branches and a log on the ground. He almost tripped over the log, but using his wings to hover just a bit, he managed not to fall flat on his face. Though he couldn't fly with his wings, he was able to hover a short distance. He listened to see if the mare had followed him or not, daring not to look back as he ran, for he knew he would definitely fall if he did. He didn't really care about the fish really, it was the thrill of the chase and his vindictiveness that spurred him on.

Valkyrie huffed annoyed with the stallion. After shaking off as much water as she could she ran after him. Her talons made running on the ground uncomfortable so she took to the trees, jumping from branch to branch.
She looked down to see how close she was to catching up and was startled to realize she had gotten a bit in front of him. Running to the edged of the branch she was currently on she leaped off hoping to land in front of her nemesis.

He didn't hear her behind him. He turned around and walked backwards, scanning the area behind him for the foxy girl. He didn't see her anywhere, but out of nowhere, he heard something hit the ground behind him. He turned quickly, coming face to face with the white mare.

"My fish or your feathers, choose." she growled in his face. She was tempted to take a feather either way, they were rather pretty. Not that she would ever tell him that.

He chuckled at her, and dropped the fish. "I'll save you the embarrassment of trying to catch me to take a feather and just give you your fish. I don't even eat fish actually. I just wanted to get your attention." He smiled and winked at her. "Looks like it worked."

Valkyrie eyed him distrustfully. She hesitantly reached out and grabbed her fish watching him carefully the whole time. She trusted him about as far as she could throw him which considering she was probably half his size was not at all. Clutching the fish in one taloned paw she blinked as his words finally registered. "What makes you think having my attention is a good thing?" she asked in confusion far more accustomed to others trying to avoid coming to her notice. The residents of this land were far different then what she was used to that much she was certain of. Giving him one more distrustful look she started to walk past him heading back towards the river bank and her berries. A smirk crossed her face as she purposely smacked him in the face with her tail.

He chuckled at her comment and while he tried to dodge the tail slap, he ended up getting a face full of fur. "Why would your attention be anything but a good thing?" It was time to lay on the charm. He had her attention, he wasn't going to lose it. He followed after her, catching up quickly. "I'm Zebediah by the way....but my friends call me Zeb...well they would if I had any, that is," he smirked. "But hey, friends? Who needs em, eh?"
