"Come on Ilyra, it's time for us to go back home. We've been at the beach long enough, and I've run out of the skin stuff." Briella called as she packed up most of their stuff, watching Ilyra play in the wake at the beach. Since coming back to the forest Briella found that Ilyra liked the beach, and they came pretty often. Normally there were other sisters on the beach, as this was the shore where most of her sisters landed on when coming to the forest. "Come on Ilyra, don't make me come get you!" she teased as she put all their stuff in a neat little pile and started running towards Ilyra with her hands reached out to grab the youngling.

Ilyra would run towards the water, and then when the wake would come in she would run back to the beach, trying to outrun the water. She looked back at Briella and stuck her tongue out at her new mother. "But mom I don't want to leave!" she called back. She knew that if they didn't have the stuff for her skin then she would get burnt and then she would be paying for it later. It had already happened once, and she wasn't going to let it happen again. When Briella threatened to come get her she rolled her eyes, but the next thing she knew Briella was coming at me! "You'd have to catch me first slow poke!" she screamed as she ran as fast as she could, not looking where she was going but instead looking back at Briella.

Kadriye current hunt for magical potion ingredients was not going so well. at the moment she needed several seashells that would later be ground down into a fine powder. However the creatures that the shells came from washed up on shore infrequently and hand a habits of half burying themselves in the dark wet sand making them easy to miss. Qi was of no help during the search either, the sprite having opted instead to try and fashion seaweed into clothing. Kadriye had no idea why, he didn't need protection from the elements and his was not ashamed of his natural form.

Distant voices caught the young woman's attention as she strode up a section of the beach. Abandoning her quest for the moment she looked around but unsurprisingly found no one, this section of shoreline had been quiet all afternoon, which had been good as it had allowed her to slowly comb the edge of it for the sea creatures uninterrupted.

It was only after heading further up the beach and around a bend that Kadriye spotted the noise makers along another long stretch of sandy shoreline.

Was that Briella? It looked like her but who was that she as with !?

Ilyra was running around the beach, going closer to the water then further, Briella always a few steps behind her. "SLOOOOOWWWW POKEEE!!!" Ilyra screamed as she ran about laughing the whole time. It wasn't long till she spotted someone else! Another sister no doubt! "Mommy look! Let's go say hi!" she said excitedly. Before Briella could even get a word in Ilyra was off and running towards Kadriye.

As Ilyra got closer and closer she was sure that she had seen this sister before. If she remembered correctly she was special, though honestly Ilyra wasn't paying much attention when her old mother was telling her about the girl so she wasn't sure what she did.

Finally she reached Kadriye. "Hello. My name is Ilyra, and this is my mommy Briella. You have a sprite like her!" she said happily pointing to Qi. "So. What's your name?"

Briella was having fun, chasing Ilyra around as if she couldn't really catch her. Ilyra was fast, but Briella was faster. One of the added bonuses of having Ilyra was that Briella's leg muscles were constantly growing due to the amount of chasing she did. When Ilyra noticed a new person she smiled and looked up, curious to who was at the beach. When she saw it was a sister she let Ilyra run off while she walked behind her. Then she realized just what sister is was. "Kadriye!" she swore under her breath. She hadn't seen her since she acquired Ilyra, and now Ilyra was no doubt going to tell her that she was her mother! What would Kadriye think? That she had someone else? Oh no, this couldn't get any worse.

At once Briella put on some speed, though she had let Ilyra get to far ahead of her so she didn't make it until Ilyra had already spoken. Even Amadi had made it there before Briella did, and he had been laying with their stuff. At seeing Qi he raced over, chattering about the sea weed clothing no doubt.

"I'm not her mother..." Briella clarified then looked down at Ilyra's startled face. "I mean I am! I am Ilyra's mother, but adopted mother. Eshe and Yansa gave her to me to watch over when I became a blade." she said with a smile. Ilyra still didn't look to happy, but at least now everything was out there and there would be no confusion.

Mommy? Since when had Aisha granted Briella a child? Kadriye was stunned by the single word and merely stared at the odd coloured girl rapidly approaching her. Was this why she had not see the other girl recently, she had been replaced by someone more unique in Briella's life. It wasn't that she begrudged the older girl the desire to have a child but somehow this was so unexpected and .. unfair. They couldn't very well go off exploring dangerous places with a youngling in tow.

Qi twirled about in the air showing off the seaweed poncho he had created, Wasn't it nice and it even had holes for his wings and torn seaweed strips as fringes on the ends. The sprite was quite pleased with his creation.

Kadriye jerked her head up when Briella arrived and began to speak. A small amount of relief washed over the young woman as things became clairified. "It is an an honour to be tasked with something so important by Eshe and Yansa." Still, younglings required a lot of attention and care which meant less time for them to meet.

The young woman's gaze dropped down to the pale skinned sister before her. " Hello Ilyra, I am Kadriye." This was certainly awkward and yet she couldn't bring herself to be genuinely mad at the youngling before her." The sprite covered in seaweed and sand over there is Qi," she added.

Ilyra was confused. Why all of a sudden was Briella telling people she was her adopted mom? Everyone else they met she just told that she was her mother, she had never told anyone she was adopted anymore. She looked from Briella to Kadriye. Maybe it was because they already knew each other? But no, she had told Dyakida she was her daughter and they knew each other from before... Or maybe she was just trying to show off that she was a blade to this other? There were so many things it could be. But no matter what Ilyra didn't like it, and in turn it made her not like this sister. However she knew better then to be rude. Every time she was rude she was punished, so she had to be nice. "It is nice to meet you Kadriye. I remember seeing you back at the main land." she commented before moving back towards Briella a little.

She wasn't a little girl, she could talk to people. However she was claiming Briella as her own by being close to her. She just hoped that this other sister would see that and understand.

Amadi was impressed, and he was trying to see the little outfit as best as he could. At once she flew over to get some seaweed to make his own unique outfit.

Briella watched Ilyra. She was known for being rude, and emotional. However lately she had been good with being polite. Briella prayed to Aisha that she would remain on her very best behavior. She could tell just by the fact that Ilyra was staying so close to her that something was up. It was almost as if Ilyra was trying to mark her territory? Surely that couldn't be the case.

This could get pretty awkward fast. She had to do something. "So what have you been up too Kadriye? I haven't seen you around the forests, and when I became a blade I was hoping you would be around but I didn't see you." she inquired. Maybe if she could get Kadriye and Ilyra talking things would get better.

Kadriye frowned slightly, she did not remember this girl and yet how could one forget someone who looked like her? It was possible Eshe had handled all interactions with the youngling though. Kadriye herself was only just now being given instruction on how to care for the blossoms Aisha produced. The great mother did most of the work but as a mystic in training it was Kadirye's job to lessen the burden as much as she could and get in touch with her kin as best as possible even before they were born.

"I'm sorry I don't remember you," she admitted. She would get to know the girl though because she was clearly important to Briella. Kadriye could and would not dispute that although she hoped the unique youngling could learn to share.

" Mystic training has been more complicated lately and also more boring in some aspects," the words were spoken with great amusement. There was so much for Kadriye to learn yet but with the role of mystic being a leading one it kept her home as much as it let her travel. The politics behind helping to govern the tribe were far more complex then they seemed from the outside and learning not just how things worked but how to deal with certain types of people and their concerns was time consuming.

"Congratulations on becoming a blade though."

Ilyra nodded, a little proud of the fact that Kadriye hadn't seen her. "Well I was sneaking around when I saw you. My old mother didn't let me out a lot, so that's why you don't remember me." she said nodding. Most of her sisters were curious to how they had never noticed Ilyra since she looked so very different. But it wasn't their fault, that was all that her mother wanted to do, to hide her, so it only made sense that not many people got to see her.

When she said that mystic training was more complicated she became curious. She knew the basics of what every mystic did, it was taught to them along with everything else they learned when they were young, plus her mother had spoken to Eshe once or twice about 'fixing' her daughter. But that was all she knew. Obviously Kadriye would know more. Her current curiosity outweighed her want for this woman to leave her mom alone. "What do you do exactly? I heard you can do magic better then the earthlings." she said with one raised eyebrow.

Briella rolled her eyes at Ilyra. Of course she was sneaking around, from what she understood Ilyra had always been sneaking around and being places she wasn't allowed to be. But she had an opressive mother before, so Briella didn't blame her. So far the two of them had a understanding, and Ilyra told her everywhere she went at all times, and when Briella told her no although she pouted and got mad, she didn't go. Thankfully Briella had Amadi to keep an eye on the youngling when she couldn't.

Briella smiled as Kadirye spoke about her training. Part of her was happy for the girl, though some very small part of her wished that Kadirye was just like every other sister out there. Then her feelings for her might not be so messy. It wasn't that she didn't know if she liked Kadirye, she knew she did, it was just she wasn't even sure if mystics were aloud to be with others? She had never seen Eshe with someone else romantically, but then again that just could have been her personal choice... Sure Briella could always ask, but that could get akward fast if Kadirye didn't share her feelings. Plus, she couldn't ask around Ilyra anyway. She was sure the youngling wouldn't be happy about it.

When Kadirye congratulated her she smiled. "Thank you! I was both surprised and honored when they gave me the title." she said honestly. "Out of curiosity, do you go up in rank? I mean I know your a mystic, but do you become anything else as you get older? Or just have the title of mystic always?"

Kadriye had a very low opinion of this girl's former mother. Unique children were difficult to raise but they should not be hidden away from the world. it made her wonder why Aisha had seen fit to give that sister a lotus. Although perhaps the great mother had foreseen this all and it had needed to be.

"I have never really inquired about if my title changed." Kadriye admitted. "It didn't seem to matter since much of my future is set for me. I should ask Eshe though." Of course being a mystic was less about the title and more about the duties and responsibilities it came with. It would be nice to be formerly recognized for the progress she was making in her lessons in some way. She knew she had trials like the others but Kadriye had never really focused on them, they always seemed so far away.

Directing her focus at Ilyra she shook her head slowly " My magic is not greater than their best mages. At least not yet." Someday she would be as skilled as Eshe whom she viewed as the strongest being she knew. " I can do things they can't though." Aishia had granted her children many unique gifts and while few of them were granted magic from a young age those that were had some special skills.

Qi gave an amused little chittering noise at that. He had the best magic of all!

Not yet. And she said not greater then their best mages, meaning it was greater then most of their mages! When she said there were things that they couldn't Ilyra's eyes went wide and she looked from Briella and then back to Kadriye. She wasn't sure if it was okay to ask Kadriye to show her, and it wasn't like she could just go out and ask Briella with Kadriye standing there.... Oh but she had never seen magic before! Well other then the few things that Amadi could do. She looked at Briella again before back at Kadriye, deciding that even if it was rude she had to ask.

"...Can you show me something?" she asked slowly and curiously, prepared for Briella to cut her off if it was rude. She was in no mood for extra chores when they got home, or not being allowed to see her best friend soon!

Briella nodded. Yes that made sense. It wasn't like Kadriye would pick a weapon and train with it. That wasn't expected of her. She knew she was a mystic and she would always be one. Briella secretly wondered if she ever wished that she had a choice like the others... Then again, given a choice Briella would have chosen the path to become a mystic instead of a amazon. Well, maybe. But anyway, Briella wanted to know when Kadriye moved up so she could get her a gift. She wasn't sure what she would get her... Maybe she could talk to Dyakida? She might know more about these kind of things. It wasn't like Briella could get her just anything. "Yes it's always good to know. Maybe you go from prentice mystic, to jr mystic, to sr mystic?" those sounded kind of silly to Briella, she almost wished she would have kept those thoughts in her head.

When Ilyra started to look between her and Kadriye, Briella became a little worried. The youngling was still learning some social norms that she wasn't able to learn since she wasn't socialized much. Being rude was one of them. She had been doing pretty good, but slipped up every once in a while. Thankfully when Ilyra spoke it wasn't rude. At least Briella didn't think it was rude. When she heard Qi chattering and Amadi chattering along she smiled. She was so happy that the two of them got along despite their color differences.

"Hmm well I am always junior to Eshe until she retired no matter how much I learn" she pointed out. of course right now that didn't bother Kadriye all that much. She didn't feel in any way ready to take on all the tasks that Eshe had to handle with such care and wisdom. She'd get there but it was a slow process.

Crouching down so she was on the same level as Ilyra Kadriye smiled. " This is one of the first things I learned to do and it was mostly by accident." The young mystic placed her hands onto the sand and reached out with her magic to find the answering pulse of magic within the ground. Though her hands did not so much as twitch the sand before them began to shift.

Slowly but surely, cool dark sand rose from beneath the warm golden tp layer and formed a miniature version of Aisha complete with both regular blossoms and lotus buds.

Complex structures like this were difficult and took a lot of practice. As a youngling Kadriye had mostly only made different types of birds and miniature houses and even those had lacked a great deal of refinement.
