Bix slammed his phone shut and stared at the spot on his wall where he'd eventually have acquired some sort of runic hacked TV. He'd save up and... keep hoping.

Bix grinned to hear Before sound cheerful. The last they'd really hung out his bro had been a bit out of sorts. It had been a difficult time and Bix had just returned from the dead but that was neither here nor there.

"Heeeeeeey.." Bix hopped off the couch to unabashedly bro-hug Before. "How have you been?"

Bix seemed a bit more in shape and his hair was now fluffed up in all directions, but for the most part was not much different. Thankfully since his untimely demise he'd managed to fill in his room with things like shelves, wall hangings, and furniture. He even seemed to have dishes in his mini kitchen.

And were there traces of a woman's touch around? Discarded hairbands and flip flops that definitely didn't fit his giant feet seemed to peek out from behind the couch.

Bix turned a little pink and rubbed his arms. He'd indeed done that thing where he got so focused on improving that he'd abandoned things like socializing. This meant tons of working out and training. Instead of responding he just roughly ruffled Before's hair.

"Oh yeah you know how the pink brings out my eyes.." He made smoochy lips and batted his white lashes before moving to kick the flipflop back into hiding.

"Ceres always leaves her shoes right where she is when she gets bored of wearing them." Anywhere was fair game, even the middle of the floor.

"So.." He hit the 'couch' solidly. It was an old dorm single bed that he'd pushed against the wall and martha-stewarted a cushiony back for. It creaked and bent the way that all Deus hand-me-down furniture did. "What's going on?"

He'd totally forgotten already that he'd called his bro up here.

"Oh yeah.." Bix stuffed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small stiff looking patch. It looked brand new. "Got approved for specialization. Ranged Tactical." He grinned and handed over the patch for Before to look at.

"But now I have no idea what to do..." He fluffed his hair awkwardly and darted his eyes aside. "And I'm hardly going to talk to Allan about how I don't know where to start. You know how they all are about us being incompetent." And Simon would just shoot him.

"Any ideas? You think people will even listen to me?" He thought he could fake authority well enough to maintain that? He wasn't sure.

"But I'm no good at chess!" He lamented with a small laugh. "But that does sound fun." Bix ran a hand in his fluffy hair. "I think first I should maybe get a handle of how good they are with their weapons.. then maybe have them working with partners. It's nice to have a defender when you're stuck at range. Also make sure they won't be shooting their partners in the back.." He laughed.

Bix then leaned back, slouching a bit, and lazy struck out to shove Before. "I haven't seen you in a while. What's been up?"

Any response Bix may have had to the other news had flown out the window. He wanted in on the juicy gossip (and to help his bro of course).

Bix sidled up to him and stared earnestly. "Do tell."

He was with you bro.

Bix had always assumed Tori had been the girl for Before. They seemed to have similar backgrounds, experience, etc. Then of course Ofie had come along and he'd seen them get closer (or merely heard about it.. but whatever).

Honestly he was just happy to see his friend with some lady issues ;D Before had been so against talking about that stuff for so long.

And Bix's player is sorry for gif'ing everything.

Bix made that familliar constipated looking thinking face that he usually got when the problem was particularly puzzling. Tori was sweet and smart and dedicated. Ofie was just as caring and dedicated but she was... a bit off sometimes. Strange. But as a friend of his, a friend who'd he inadvertently turned down romantically (and hadn't known until after the fact) he'd hate to see her hurt. He was pretty sure she cared about Before greatly, from the conversations they'd had about him. He definitely didn't want to share that with his bro though. He didn't want to in anyway adversely effect how things went.

"Well.." Each girl seemed to offer something else for him. "Seems like you'll regret not trying something out with either of them... But do you think things would be weird, with one or other, if you started to date?" Would Tori be hurt if Before got a woman who was not him? He couldn't see her publicly reacting but again.. he'd hate to see her with her feelings hurt.

"Do you know how they feel about you?" Because if you date one of these girls Bix will have to burn the matching gay-marriage tuxes he bought and cry over the ashes.
