After killing Diva, Saya was faced with the newborn twins; the children of Diva and Riku. She wanted to kill them. She wanted this battle to end with her, but as she raised her blade above the babes, she found she could not do it. Collapsing with exhaustion and an overwhelming flow of emotions another option was given to her. Saya could choose to let the twins live, to raise them as equals and help them live happy lives unlike the lives that she and Diva had had. She knew it would be hard, but how could she kill something so innocent and something that was her own flesh and blood? With a sigh she moved away from them. Yes, that is what she would do. She would find a way to rear these children and help the memory of Riku, and Diva she decided, live on. The girl turned to Haji, who had been with her since the begginning of this all, and spoke with him quietly.
Saya's long rest was fast approaching so she had little time to prepare. Kai agreed to raise the children while Saya was asleep, with the understanding that when she woke and returned to herself she would help him and teach the children some aspects of their being that only she could. Haji agreed to watch over the small family regardless of Saya's state, but while she was asleep it would have to be from a far. Understanding his character Kai agreed. Despite the love and care that Haji had for these children, his care and love for Saya were much greater, not to mention the blood bond that bound them so close.
For the first time in many years Saya went to face her long sleep on her own terms. The last time she remebered doing this was long ago, not long after she had accidently changed Haji into her chevalier, her knight. After saying her goodbyes she laid in the coffin that was to be her bed with Haji sitting at her side. He promised to stay with her till she was asleep and that he would be there when she woke. In the darkness of her resting place they talked. It was in the time nearest her sleep that she had the most awarness of her past. Many times the two had spoken like this, recounting various tales and stories. But her sleep was inevitable, and all too soon she was asleep. Haji closed the lid of the casket firmly and then picked up his cello and played a final tune. Not long after he left the dark room, sealing the door shut behind him. Once again, it was time to wait.

They say that history often repeats itself, and now it is yet again. The thirty year sleep that Saya must endure is at it's end, just a few short months until she can gain conciousness. Kai is much older now and has an acutal family of his own. The twins have grown apart in the last year which worries Kai greatly, since he fears another war like the one that occured between Saya and Diva. Kai hopes that when Saya awakes she will be able to help pull them back together, but is it too late? Already there have been too many unanswered questions for Kanade and Hibiki and a quickly growing rift.
