It was far too easy to ensconce herself away when the pressure got too much. She'd done it after her first mission, and again after meeting Death, and once more after the parties had gotten too much. Even at orientation Stormy had found herself overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people which, thanks to the island's size, had been deceptively small in her mind: just people she knew and a few faces she recognized, and no-one else otherwise. But if there was one thing she was starting to learn, it was that she couldn't always avoid people: sometimes it was easier to take the first step.
Thus did the trainee navigate the dorm halls until she found Tuck's room, pivoted on her heel, and was face to face with his sister's. Stormy hadn't had a real chance to talk with Gnat, which was a shame because it was obligatory at this point now that she had adopted the Eclipse brothers. Briefly she though about delaying and getting food to bring . . . or napping . . . or maybe come back tomorrow, that sounded better . . . But she took a breath and knocked on her door anyway. "Um, Gnat?"

Gnat was laying across her bed lazily, counting carpet fuzz and considering going to the A/V room to see if she could watch some of those movies Candace had mentioned. Singing in the Rain hadn't been too bad, if a little old, but she felt like she kind of owed it to Jerry for ditching him after all the effort he'd made on their 'date'.
When she heard the knock on her door, she very nearly yelled her exact opinion on Tuck always butting in on her unwanted, even if she didn't really have plans - when she heard a very feminine and definitely not-Tuck voice.
She answered the door a few seconds later, overcome with curiousity.
"Oh." She vaguely recognized her from the party. She'd probably met her after she'd started drinking. "What's goin' on?"

Stormy forgot why she was there again and for a moment felt stupid when asked what was up. "Um . . . Hi. I was in the neighborhood . . .?" Wait that was dumb, try again.
"You, um, remember me right? From the parties and...stuff...?" She twiddled her fingers. "Are you busy?"

"Yeah," she replied, and after a moment added, "but I was kinna drunk."
Gnat gazed at Stormy critically, then grinned. "M'not busy, no. Room's kind of a mess, though. We can walk and chat - what's on ya mind?"

"Yeah." And spouting stories about Tuck she was dutifully trying to forget. She continued to finger twiddle. "Oh, uh, nothing really. Tuck's part of my eclipse brothers now, so I figured I should get to know his sister, right?" she answered. "And, uh . . . stuff." How did people slide into conversation so easily?
Walking was a good idea, though, so Stormy stepped back to give her some room and took a breath. No more awkward! She should have gotten rid of all the awkward the few times she'd talked with Gale, but the feeling was like having two bunnies in her stomach: somehow it just kept multiplying without reason.

"Eclipse brothers?" She grinned. "That some kinna club? Cool name."
There was something about her voice that was really familiar, though, and she stared for a second after stepping out the door.
"Wait a sec. I know you. You was there when we woke up."

Stormy paused along with her, blinking. "Sorta! Tuck's Moon and Evan's a Sun, so ya know--Eclipse and stuff! And yes I was," she chirped with a small bounce, pleased to see Gnat remembered her. The first few days were always a haze according to what she was told, and Stormy had been no different. "You guys were arguing not two minutes out of beauty sleep. That's a tight family right there~" Hopefully she could still fit in somehow.
"But, um, yeah . . . Mostly I thought I should talk with you more since family and all," Stormy continued. "And I'm trying to be a little more outgoing. I was a little . . .awkward around the parties, and I think I should work on that."

Natasha laughed; she couldn't help it.
"No worries, guh. I mean, I was drinkin' and kissin' up on strange men, so I guess I'm jus' embarassin'." She tapped her chin thoughtfully.
"Maybe we can work on it together. I'll be less outgoin', you can be more', yeah? Trade places." She grinned. "I'm sure Tuck would appreciate it."

Stormy wasn't sure how Tuck would take that particular idea (heck, Evan had been bristling when she was chatting innocently with Al), but she bobbed her head dutifully. "Sounds like a plan! So, uh, does that mean we like . . . trade advice?" she asked, now quite curious to know how she could share a fraction of a party goer's charm.
