It seemed that the Firani were a rather dangerous, grouchy bunch that wasn't going to let Junjie off so easily. In fact they seemed to hound him for the rest of the day until he was able to find somewhere for himself and Abellio to hide out for a time. It was a bit of a bother but at least he felt as though he was starting to get a better feel for dealing with them. Something he was certain of, his Ysali magic had a hard time dealing with the Firani, their powers seeming to trump his own. As such he had to rely more heavily on his Aeduan powers, using shield to protect himself, the light to blind them, and the like. It was a little tougher going then how he usually fought but he found he couldn't complain too much. Not when it would get the job done, or at least he was certain that it would were he to stand against a Firani that was. Thus far they had forced him to flee each time he met with them, unable to stand their fire for too long before it sent him packing.
They would take a bit more planning on his part, wanting to make sure that he was ready before he started a fight with one of them. Unlike the others in the past they took a lot more out of him, making him wonder if that was why the Sage had waited in telling him about, because he knew that Junjie hadn't been quite ready to deal with the Firani yet. He wanted to prove himself against them now though given the fact that he'd already face and was forced to flee from two of their ilk. They were a dangerous breed and one that he wanted to best!
It was why he waited until after it was dark, when the creature would be a little less in control. There was so much about the Firani that made it dangerous to him but he would face them if he wanted to get stronger, he just had to avoid face to face, head on battles, or the sort where he got jumped if at all possible. Like now, he knew that the creature was nearby, could hear its heavy footsteps, occasional growls, and the way that it was shifting about. It seemed as though it knew that he was here as well, just not exactly where he was. No reason to give away his position just yet, instead lowering his staff down to tap it lightly against the ground, calling up some vines. It was a difficult spell, one that took all of his concentration, but soon enough the vines were launching out of the ground, tangling themselves around the Firani's face, tying it's mouth shut. With the fire dealt with for a short amount of time, and the dragon turning to look his way, he then used a spell to blind the creature.
With that he hurried forward, dodging the slashing claws of the beast, before he attacked with his staff, putting the creature down quickly. Again, there was no reason to cause something to suffer, even something that would set him ablaze then make a snack of him. Once the creature had crumbled away Junjie picked up the orb, inspecting it, then gave a smile, "Aren't you a pretty one." He murmured, taking in the brilliant red of it before tucked the item away in his pack with the various other things he had. With that done he turned and walked away, moving to join Abellio where he'd left the little one to hide. No reason to get the little guy too close to the action after all.
