Too many days spent in the sun, Esmeralda now had a tan and she didn’t know how to feel about it yet. Her white and blue scales stood out even more, but now she looked like a sea swelling Dovaa who went on adventures and fought pirates instead of a pale scholar who spent lots of time in shaded, dark places. She hadn’t bought any new clothing choosing to shed what she already had but after some rather inconvenient incidents, she was now looking into buying herself some new clothing with a fabric that would allow her to breath but would cover her up a bit more.

So here she was arguing with the be damned Orderite merchant who was trying to swindle her into buying something at a price that was outrageous. “Do you really think I would pay that much for this?!” Her tone was getting louder and some people were snickering about the whole ordeal close by. Esmeralda was tiny, she was no fighter and anyone could have guessed as much, so it was funny for them to see her get so angry and all she could do was throw a small tantrum at a merchant who obviously wouldn’t sell anything to her.

In need of a few things himself Junjie had been only too happen when he spotted what appeared to be a merchant caravan, one led by an Orderite from the looks of it, "Hm, looks like it should be alright for us to go there though... best that I wear the cloak this time, Abellio. I need to keep my back hidden best that I can after all. If anyone were to see it, see the marks upon it, they would know him instantly for a hybrid. Best that he just play the part of a Dovaa, get in, buy what he needed, then get back out again all at as fast a pace as he could muster, "Perhaps we will see about getting you your own cloak as well if they have one your size." An offer that had Abellio's tail swishing in a delighted manner. He'd wanted his cloak for a while, so that he could hide during the battles with dragons, but he knew that Junjie needed his cloak when it came to dealing with some of the other two-legs.

Kneeling down Junjie planted his staff in the sands before he set to undoing the clasp on the cloak, removing it from Abellio, then pushed to his feet. The cloak was given a quick shake, knocking a few bright green feathers free of it, before putting it on himself, "Stay close to me when we go down there, alright? We don't want you getting into any trouble or accidentally bumping into anything or anyone." Best to keep the little one out of trouble to make this trip that much quicker. Just an in and out, allowing him to remain the part of a faceless Dovaa that was moving through the sands of Eowyn and nothing more. Once the two of them were ready Junjie picked up his staff, using it as though it were merely a walking stick, and made his way down toward the caravan.

As he got closer he found that he didn't really need to hide himself too much, did he? It seemed someone else had the attention of those around her, scolding the merchant about his prices. Well, that made things easier, didn't it? He glanced the way of the unhappy customer, away, then back again, "Ahh... wait a second..." He knew that woman, it had been some time and she looked a bit different, likely after being in the sun for a time, but he knew her. It was Esmeralda! To think that he would have such luck as to find her again and not all that long after he'd met with Erionda again as well, both in the depths of Eowyn. He gave a bit of a smile as he started over toward her, a happy smile on his lips. Coming to stand beside her, looking through what the man had to sell, he waited to see if she would notice him or if she would continue to hound the merchant instead. He wouldn't admit it but the look on the poor man's face was amusing. He kept his humor over the situation to himself though as he set to work picking out a cloak for Abellio.

“Useless!” Esmeralda huffed, throwing her hands up in the air when she finally decided to give up. She could buy whatever she needed from someone else; this one just wanted to cause her trouble! She should have gone back home through the vortex and bought her clothing there, at least she could have some reasonable prices instead of having to deal with this merchant. She felt like he was being racist but didn’t voice her opinion out loud, because then others would get angry and this place was known as the location where the Orderites and Oblivionites fought. She didn’t need to give any side a chance to swing at the other, even if she was Dovaa.

Something caught her attention at her side, and she slightly turned towards the new customer who was looking at the wears. She wasn’t completely looking at him; her glare was on the merchant as she spoke. “You shouldn’t buy from this one, his prices are crazy and I’m sure you could find better elsewhere.” The merchant huffed at her and she finally turned her gaze on the other customer, she was not below making sure no one bought from this mane ever again. Her eyes first settled on the horns, she’d seen them before; they were quite unique and hard to forget about.

“Junjie?!” Her eyes traveled now, he was so all grown up! She hadn’t seen him in what seemed like eternity, she’d visited the tree a couple of times but he’d never been there, there had also never been any mail from him. She quickly pulled him into a hug, before holding him at arm’s length with a large smile on her face. “You’ve grown.” Esme said, chuckling as she looked him over. “And you’ve picked a clan I see.” Anther Hybrid who was Ysali, the Peisio Dovaa was starting to see some sort of connection between Hybrids and Ysali. Tyrok had been Ysali as well, were the Ysali somehow making a pack with the Hybrids? Seemed unlikely, but it was an odd coincidence. “How have you been?”

Junjie did his best to keep from laughing as Esmeralda started to tell him how he shouldn't buy from this guy, that his prices were high, and he could find better prices elsewhere. It was tempting, better prices would be nice, but at the same time it wasn't as though he could go just anywhere all that easily could he? He had to deal with the swindlers if it meant buying what he needed without being noticed or pegged for what he was. A shame too, he would rather walk away since Esmeralda didn't seem to like this guy all that much. Better to stand by his friend, right? He supposed he could keep sharing his cloak with Abellio for now.

As the Dovaa woman seemed to finally recognize him he turned, giving her a smile, "It's been a while, Esmeralda. I am glad to see that you are well." He said before he found himself pulled into a hug, something that was quite surprising but at the same time quite welcome. He lifted his arms to return the gesture before she was withdrawing to look him over. He gave a smile and a nod when she mentioned him growing as well as picking a clan, "It took some work but yes, I decided upon by clan and was able to become a part of it without too much trouble." No more then he felt anyone like him was forced to go through he added to himself quietly. No reason to complain since it was more then worth all of the hard work that he had done though to get to where he was today.

"I haven't been too bad, training really hard, how about you?" He asked, glancing over at Abellio as the little feathered Keinling came over to sit down at his feet, starring up at the Dovaa in a questioning manner. Junjie looked down at him, then at Esmeralda, giving a smile, "This is my friend, Esmeralda, Esmeralda, this is Abellio." After introducing them the Keinling gave a happy crooning sound at her, tail swishing. It seemed as though he liked her well enough, that was good Junjie thought to himself as he reached to stroke his soft feathers.

“We’ll find a better store,” Esmeralda said, eyeing the merchant one more time before she put her back to him. “And we’ll buy plenty from him!” Seeing that he was now losing two customers, the Orderite grumbled loudly. “You Dovaa are more trouble than it’s worth!” He spat, stomping his leg once to prove his point. “I’ll offer you the same price as everyone else.” Smiling, Esmeralda turned back towards the merchant and smiled. “About time! I didn’t plan on staying out here for too long.” She gave Junjie a wink before looking at the wares again.

It had been too long since she’d last seen him, far too long and now she hoped he had some spare time to spend with her. “I hope they didn’t give you much trouble, I know someone else in a similar situation as yours and he too picked Ysali.” There was no need to share the fact that Jun was a Hybrid. Again her thoughts turned to the clans and if they were making special selections to have all the Hybrids in the Ysali clan. She didn’t think it was possible, but still there were a lot of things she didn’t know about her own people.

It saddened Esme just a little to hear him say he was training, which meant he was out killing dragons. A part of her wished that he could have been a scholar and not have to fight, but where would he have become such a thing? The Dovaa certainly wouldn’t take him in, and she doubted the Orderites would allow him near their information. It seemed for some there was only the battler’s path for them, and it couldn’t be helped. Esmeralda tried not to look too disappointed; she didn’t want him to think there was something wrong so se keep her smile up.

Her eyes traveled to the feathered Keinling by his feet, her eyes grew big and she dropped to crouch in front of Abellio. “He’s so adorable Junjie!” She stuck out her hand towards him, slowly in case she got scared of any odd sudden movements towards him. “I’ve never seen one like this before! Where did you find him?” Funny that Jun now had a Drakein after their first conversation had somewhat been around the rare ones, and here he was with one he’d never seen before.

Just when it seemed as though they were going to be leaving the Orderite merchant seemed to give in to Esmeralda's threats, something that he couldn't help but to be impressed by, "Wow." He murmured, quite awe struck by how she was able to get the man to give them better prices just by threatening to leave. Maybe the man realized that being able to sell at the better prices, even to Dovaa, was better then not selling anything at all? The way he saw it Esmeralda had saved him from losing more coin then he needed, something he would thank her for after they were out of ear shot of the merchant. He didn't want the man knowing that he was willing to pay whatever price he demanded after all, that would only get him in trouble in the future he was sure.

"Naw, not much. My mother knew someone that was able to aid me in fact, so things went as smoothly as I think that they could." He said, giving a smile. He knew that the Sage had done so much for him, more then Junjie could ever hope to repay, and even now the man was continuing to help him by steering him in the right direction as far as his training went. At the mention of her friend who was in a similar situation who also chose the Ysali clan he couldn't help but to be perk up, "Oh? Did he have a hard time?" He asked, wondering who it was that she might be talking about. So many questions he had... but all of them seemed inappropriate given where they were at the moment. As much as it pained him to do so he needed to censor himself, something that involved him having to distract himself with something, anything, ah! The cloaks!

Junjie looked back at the cloaks once more, distrating himself by debating over which one would be good at concealing Abellio as well as being able to hold up to the rigours of being worn by an active Keinling. After he finally found it he picked it up, shook it out, and held it up in front of Abellio, "What do you think?" He asked of the Keinling who went from gazing at Esmeralda, to the cloak, then back again, nodding all the while. It seemed as though he liked the cloak but was too caught up in the new Dovaa to be bothered with a reply. Junjie chuckled a little before he dug out what coin was needed to pay for the cloak, handing it over the merchant before his attention was fully on his friend and Keinling once more, "I found him during one of my adventures in Serenia... well, not him exactly, his egg. It seemed as though some thieves had lost it so I was trying to save the egg." He explained to her.

Kneeling down he set to putting the cloak on Abellio, something that had the little Keinling all but purring, before he continued, "The look on my mother's face when I came back with it was priceless but she was still nice enough to let me keep it." Something that he was quite thankful for given that Abellio was his closest ally in all of his adventures, travels, and training since then, "I haven't seen another like him either, I wonder what caused him to have feathers when others I have met are all scaly." It was interesting to him that Esmeralda, who seemed to know a lot about dragons and drakein, hadn't seen a feathered one before. Maybe it was a new sort? That would be amazing, as well as lucky, for him to have met one so rare.

“Can’t let people bully you out in the wild, people talk and next thing you know everyone is trying to use you.” Esmeralda was firmly against bullying, younger it had happened to her and she’d sworn she’d never let anyone else get bullied while she was around. Plus, this merchant would tell all of his friends that Jun could be fooled into paying more, she’d saved him from losing so much coin. And maybe the others would have a bit more respect for her too; lord knows how many times they gave her lewd looks or tried to buy her drinks.

“Oh that’s good. Very good.” She was really going to have to store this information away and then once she was back home look into it. “I’m not sure, I haven’t seen him in some time now… And the last time I did see him I didn’t ask, he sort of has a temper.” Or maybe they’d just both be fueling their own anger at the whole situation and things had gotten out of hand. Maybe she’d see him again someday; otherwise Esme didn’t think much on it. He’d been more Oblivionite than Dovaa last time, and that was exactly a bunch she wanted to get close to. Minus an exception.
“Thieves, they need to get over themselves because they’re going to cause an uproar with the Drakeins.” And a war was not wanted right now, there were still many things they didn’t know about the Drakeins and he was a living proof. It made her wonder what Grrel would think, if she’d throw a fit over the thieves or Junjie. “It’s causing more trouble than it’s worth really.” Esme sighed softly, watching Jun put the cloak on the Keinling. “Looks like we’re set, let’s go!” This was a good time to walk away from the merchants gaze.

“Well lucky for you! I hadn’t been out in the world for almost nine months. My mother was having a child and my parents wanted me home to help them with things.” But now she was free, free, free! “Would you mind if I drew him later one? Just so I can document it and keep it somewhere.” She’d rather ask him before actually doing so, plus her drawing skills had increased quite a bit. “I really do like his colors.”

Junjie thought on that one before he gave a slow nod of his head. The last thing that he really wanted was for people to try to walk all over him he decided then gave a smile, "Well, I would like to be helpful to people but I would most certainly not want to get used." He said after a moment of thought. He really didn't mind helping others, in fact he wanted to help others out, especially after being raised by a mother who was a doctor. He found himself wondering if his kind nature would come back to bite him in the backside in the end but that really wouldn't stop him from aiding others. There were always those in the world that would try to take advantage, those like that merchant, but he couldn't let that stop him.

"Oh? Huh, well I hope that next time that you see him that he is in a better mood." He said with a smile when she mentioned the last time that she'd seen her other friend that he'd had a temper, "I am sure that nobody could stay temperamental around you for long." She was so nice after all, how could they stay in a grouchy mood. He knew that he couldn't, she was always such a good friend to him after all he thought to himself before he glanced over at her once more as she complained about the thieves and how they were gonna cause an uproar amongst the Drakein. He gave a nod of agreement, "It would be nice if they would just leave the eggs where they belong. I mean... it would be sad if I had never been able to meet Abellio but at the same time he would have grown up with his family." He murmured petting the feathered Drakein on the head.

Abellio gave a little chirp sound then nuzzled against his head, obviously happy despite not having grown up in the right place. At least he knew that he'd taken good care of him he thought to himself. When Esme said that they were ready to go and that they should go he nodded, "Yeah, let's go." He said, trotting along after her with Abellio hurrying along at Junjie's heels, his head held high, obviously pleased with the new cloak he was wearing.

"Oooh, wow. You mother had a baby? That's so nice. It's a shame that I never ended up with a sibling." He mused, wondering idly what it might have been like to have a sister or a brother. He was sure that a part of it had to do with the fact that his father had gone missing and the man was the love of his mother's life from what he gathered. Another man just probably wouldn't have done he thought to himself, though it was a feeling he didn't quite understand. The occasional crush, sure, but love, that wasn't something he knew much about yet, "It must be nice to have a little sibling, huh?" He asked in a curious manner, wanting to know all about what that might be like.

As she asked about drawing Abellio he chuckled and nodded, "Sure, so long as he doesn't mind it I don't see why you can't draw him." He said, looking over at Abellio, "What do you think? Do you want Esme to draw a picture of you?" Something that was answered by the little one jumping up and down and nodding, seeming quite excited over the idea. Not to mention that her compliment about liking his colors had gotten his tail wagging like crazy as well. It seemed that she had won Abellio over easily, not that it was too difficult to do so given how affectionate the little Ysali was.

“Yes, as a fighter you do have that ability.” As a Ysali, healing was their thing, she certainly did see Junjie out and about helping those that needed it the most, even in times of war. She on the other hand, even as a Peisio, had given up on healing others. Now she helped with her research, this was what she gave back to the people.

Esmeralda nodded and chuckled. “I hope so too.” Granted seeing Tyrok was so spontaneous that it was hard to even figure out the next time see him. She knew they would be older however, so maybe they’d both learned a few things on the way. It would be nice if she could find out more about him.

“Well I think you guys make wonderful Bonded together.” Esme gave Jun a smile, yes Drakeins were a double sided coin, but it looked like Abellio really made Junjie happy; that’s all that mattered in the end.

“Yes, a little boy named Kanun. I’m sure he’s going to grow up as a fighter.” That’s what her family needed right now so they could stop harassing her with her darn life choices. If she wanted to be a civilian scholar they ought to respect her choice! “So far it’s nice I guess it gets everyone’s expectations off my back now. Poor kid is going to grow up as if he was the eldest.”

Looking up at the sun, Esmeralda sighed. “I need to get going actually, maybe another time Junjie?” She gave him a quick hug. “Don’t be a stranger!” And then she was off running back towards her place.

Junjie gave Esme a smile before his eyes got a little wide when she seemed to realize that she had to get going, "Oh? Next time, maybe." He said, finding it a little bit of a shame that she had to go now but he felt that if she was busy then he wouldn't keep her. Lifting a hand the hybrid waved at his friend as she hurried off, smiling a bit before he turned to look at Abellio, "Come on, Abellio, best that we keep going now that we got you a new cloak." Now that Abllio had his own cloak it meant that he would be able to have his own back to wear around once more.

Abellio gave a happy crooning sound, coming to stay beside Junjie, watching as the Dovaa woman hurried off. The two of them watched her for a while more before they too were heading on their way. They had a lot to do, still, it had been nice to see Esme again for Junjie, it was nice to get to see his friends again. He would need to try to catch up with her again soon, when they were both a lot less busy and had more time to chat.
