Queen of Hearts

My name is:
Rosie Anne Royall... Her birth name was Rosie. She was never given a middle name, and her last name was quickly tossed once she was permanently adopted. So... she made up her own full name.

My Alias is
The Queen of Hearts

I have this many candles on the cake
19

I am on the side of:
Chaotic Neutral; Rosie was raised under villainous guidance, but she is good-natured and friendly, and will sometimes switch "sides" depending on her mood, or who she has befriended. She is more of a mischievous, spoiled brat than a true villain... and too violently temperamental and emotionally unstable to be considered a good girl.

I have these quirks:
Fun-Loving: Rosie can't stand to be bored, and will usually jump at the chance to do something that could prove to be fun or exciting. Robbery, high-speed chase down a busy highway, rooftop-jumping, video games, fighting over the last piece of pizza, or even just window shopping. Rosie loves having something to do, especially if she has someone else to do it with.

Friendly: For the most part anyway. Rosie's fun-loving attitude and optimism make her naturally friendly towards others. How long she stays friendly towards someone depends on the circumstances of the situation of course. She will try to make friends with just about anyone, even heroes. But if they insist on playing rough, carting her off to jail, lecturing her, or bring up touchy subjects, her friendly nature will wear thin.

Spoiled Brat: Rosie is used to getting a lot of things her way. She was raised by one of the Biggest celebrities in Gotham, usually got anything she asked for, is used to being treated like the center of attention, and is usually a bit put off when someone else steals the spotlight. She hates it when someone lectures her, especially since she's not a child anymore, but will sometimes act like she's still a child.

Emotionally Unstable: Certain triggers and topics can evoke an extreme reaction that Rosie can't control. While Rosie does have a natural cheerfulness about her, sometimes that cheer can become unnerving and overly-happy. Sometimes it can be a reaction in order to suppress one of her mood swings. Rosie can go from cheerful and carefree to enraged within a matter of seconds if someone pushes her too far, or brings up the wrong subject. It usually takes taunting to evoke this mood swing.
While anger and over-cheerful are her usual mood swings, she has two other severe emotions that can unintentionally be triggered. They are usually caused when she thinks upon her childhood, or a deep seated fear is triggered and she cannot calm herself down. She has suppressed certain memories of her childhood, as well as certain fears that have eaten away at her since childhood. While she still displays fear, guilt, and sorrow as any normal human would, certain triggers can cause these emotions to become extreme... to the point where she becomes severely depressed or has panic attacks.

We cant all have sad stories now can we?
Rosie's mother was a low-level sorceress who had been in the crime business for many years. After some failed jobs, she moved to Gotham to try and make a new start. While looking for a place of her own, she ran into a group of heroes and tried to create a distraction for them. This brought about the birth of Rosie. Using the child to keep the heroes distracted, Gossamer went about her own work. While Rosie got close to the heroes, watched them, she could tell Gossamer everything she had seen and heard once she was reunited with her again. A rather perfect little spy. It was soon after that Gossamer found an abandoned warehouse to call home. It was, unfortunately an already claimed warehouse that belonged to Gotham's own Joker. In the middle of one of his “off-again” tiffs with Harley, and taking an interest in having a little bit of magic at his disposal, Joker allowed Gossamer and her child to stay there. He also began having a relationship with Gossamer, that would prove to be all too brief.

One day Rosie was left alone at the warehouse, as usual when Gossamer and Joker went out. This time, however, neither one of them ever came back. Afraid that they had been captured and carted off to this “Arkham” place, Rosie left the warehouse to try and find someone who could take care of her until her Mother returned. Being so young, it was easy for her to find a caring hero to look after her. It was also quite easy for someone like the Joker to manipulate once he found her again. Joker took her away from the ones raising her, violently, and hid her in one of his spare hideouts. He told Rosie that Gossamer had turned on him, and left him at the mercy of some of the other heroes. Rosie didn't believe him at first, of course, but he managed to convince her that it had happened. And... that Gossamer didn't care about him or Rosie. The lack of parenting Gossamer had done made it easy for Joker to convince her that such was true, and easily swayed the child into believing that he was the 'good guy', and he would take care of her as though she were his own child.

The rest... Rosie has never elaborated on. She will go on to say how Joker raised her afterwards, spoiled her, made her like him better than anyone. But any time the subject is of what happened with her mother is pressed, Rosie becomes emotional and ends the conversation. What is known, is that the Joker had convinced the her that Gossamer no longer cared for her, and if it came down to it, Gossamer would choose her own life over theirs. After one last confrontation, Joker had Gossamer locked up in one of his hide outs, and Gossamer was never seen from again. And when asked, Rosie denies that Joker had anything to do with her disappearance. She knows full well now that she was used as revenge against her mother, and she probably should have disappeared along with Gossamer. But... for whatever reason Joker had taken a liking to her, and continued to act as a parent figure. He raised her and trained her to be like him. Learning how to shoot, making her immune to his gas and creating her own version. It also helped, she supposed, that she had Gossamer's knack for magic. A little practice with it, and she was able to make Joker's nights on the town a little more entertaining.

Unfortunately it was also that magic that got her into Jump City. Being so young and inexperienced with magic, sometimes her new spells go terribly wrong when she begins to learn them. A little teleportation spell gone wrong... and now Rosie isn't sure if she's even in her own universe. No one she's talked to seems to have even heard of her, and those who don't run at the mention of Joker just laugh at her for the very idea that he could have taken in a little girl. Rosie is determined to take this mishap in stride, and with any luck she'll make her own name for herself. Then... figure out how to get back home.

My power lies with-in:
Magic.

Born from magic, Rosie is naturally gifted with magical talent. While she knows various tricks and spells, her knowledge of magic is limited. Results of being so young and having little aid in learning magic. She spent more time learning marksmanship than self-study in magic. Because of this, she only has a few well-honed magical abilities, and a handful of randomly successful attempts at spells. She will almost always use her weapons before she resorts to using her magical powers.

Rosie's most used power is duplication. She has the ability to create duplicates of herself, and merge back together at will. With this power, she is able to spy on others, create surprise attacks, and increase her fighting abilities. The drawback from duplication is that her magical energy becomes divided amongst the duplicates. The more she duplicates, the less energy any of the Rosies have to preform magic. Should one of her duplicates be killed, the magical energy will find it's way back to the original Rosie provided she is within range. If one is killed miles away, the energy will disperse, and the original Rosie will have to try and build up her magical energy on her own time.

Other magical spells that are often used consist of energy projectiles, pheromone manipulation, and energy constructions. As with her duplication powers, these abilities are limited by the level of energy she has to preform the spells. The more duplications, the weaker the attacks... the more fatigued, the weaker the attacks.

Energy projection is used mainly when she runs out of ammunition... or she becomes infuriated enough that she simply looses her temper. Energy constructions are used mainly to create protective force fields, and to capture objects or people. The constructs can only hold up as long as she has the energy to do so, the mentality to keep them intact, or a stronger object strikes it.

Her pheromone manipulation is used when she believes she can manipulate another person into "taking it easy on her". She uses this ability when she faces someone she knows is completely out of her league, and will try to make them develop false feelings for her so that she will not have to engage in a fight. This is, of course, sometimes only as effective as the person she is trying to manipulate. Someone with enough willpower, already in love with another, or just not into women... could shake off the bombardment of pheromones and barely be effected at all . Those who are effected by the pheromones may feel emotions as light as pity, to slight attraction, to infatuation. Again, this usually depends on the level of energy Rosie has, or the person she is attempting to manipulate.

What I carry with me:
Revolvers: Rosie is fairly trained with guns, and has a gift at marksmanship thanks to her magical abilities. (Not the best marksman in the world when it comes to shooting super heroes, but she does pretty darn well with everything in-between.)

She carries small revolvers in her costume filled with real and trick rounds.
Positive traits... bullets come cheap. Negative trait... Her special rounds are limited to what she was able to carry upon arriving to the city. If she runs out, she will have to take the time to gather supplies and re-create her rounds. So her guns are usually filled with real bullets.

Rosie Red Gas Round: A specially designed gaseous compound that is non-lethal. The gas is a cherry-red color, and induces a chemical reaction within the body that puts it's victims in a state of "blind bliss". The color of the gas disorientates a victim's vision and becomes impossible to see anything clearly, the flowery smell of the gas becomes overwhelming, and a chemical reaction in the brain triggered an overwhelming positive emotion. This will usually either disorientate the victim enough that they become an easy target, or their anger becomes lowered greatly. This round is usually used to help Rosie flee from a fight, or create very easy target practice for her normal bullets.

This is in short supply, but not nearly as much as her Blood Red gas. She has developed this gas on her own, and knows how to make more. The biggest issue is that she does not have a laboratory, or access to the chemicals she would need. When she runs low or runs out, she will have to find the chemicals she needs, steal them as well as the proper equipment, and take the tedious time of making the gas compound.

Blood Red Gas Round: A specially designed gaseous compound that IS lethal. The gas is a deep red color, and induces a chemical reaction within the body that puts it's victims into a state similar to that of the Joker's Laughing Gas. The victim is put into a state of uncontrollable laughter, from which they die of cardiac arrest or suffixation... with a permanent smile on their face.

This compound is in short supply; Rosie did not fully learn how to make the Joker's compound, and only learned how to mix it with hers. When she runs out, she'll pretty much be out. She will need to find the other half of her formula before she can even begin to make more, and with no hint of a Joker in sight, it will be extremely hard to come by. There is also the problem that some heroes (mainly of the Bat-family) have antidotes for the Joker's chemical, and could be able to counteract the gas within a certain amount of time.

Cupids Arrow Round: A bullet that acts similar to Joker's "bang flag" round. This bullet extends into a thin rod, and then metal blades extend from the ends once they are freed from containment. One metal end curved and painted to look like a heart acts as the "arrow head", and curved blades sit on the other end of the rod. These act as anchors or an extra burst of damage if the "arrow" passes through a target. Occasionally Rosie will have a thin cable attached to these rounds, which allow her to climb buildings or yank an impaled enemy towards her. In fact these rounds are used more for rooftop access than they are for impaling a foe.

These rounds are much easier for Rosie to keep. With her magic, she is able to fold the arrow back up and re-use it for later. If it is undamaged that is. Should she run out or loose them all, it's much easier to come by scrap metal than it is the chemical compounds needed for her gas rounds.

Razor edge cards: Rosie also carries a set of playing cards (all queen of hearts) that have been rimmed with razor blade metal. She can use them as projectiles, or as a blade when she needs. These are a slightly limited supply type of item. The bladed edges are a bit harder to create... and she'd have to come by dozens of packs of cards to get a full deck of only one type of Queen.

Any extra information:
Rosie's role play origins stem from the Marvel vs DC Universe guild. There she is still a child, and in the early stages of her adoption. Both her original comic book version, and her gaia role play version are children, and stuck between wide-eyed optimism and wicked little girl.

I have tried to use this aged, more mature, and more independent version in other guilds, but those guilds died before I could get very far. I am hoping that I will be able to use Rosie much longer here, and develop her character and personality more. I'd certainly like to see how well Rosie would fare on her own, especially her Marvel vs DC universe version.

I've tried not to make Rosie sound like a Mary Sue, and I realize being related to a canon character sometimes makes people cringe. While her origin contains a lot of Joker influence, it won't be that much of a problem here. The most Rosie will do is brag about Joker, or complain that she's running out of her gas. I've been role playing for years, and I know how to make developed characters. There are a few people in this guild you can ask and I'm sure they'll vouch that I do well with characters.

If you still feel like there is a problem, just let me know or ask about it. I'm open to adjusting Rosie to fit in more.

Image:
This will have to do for now. I am in the process of drawing several role play styled character images and post images... but irl work is eating up the better part of my drawing time. Rosie's image, as well as her posting images, will be switched out as I can get to her.

SAMPLE POSTING STYLE

This is subject to change... I am in the process of creating role play character profile images and posting images. This is only a sample, and is subject to change at any point.

This was the posting style I used for the previous attempts to use this character, and the guild died on me. It will be adjusted to fit this guild in time.

I ALSO REALIZE

That there needs to be a post sample of the characters so you can see the personalities, fighting style, etc. I will upload one as I can get to it. Right how I am running only on battery power, and my laptop won't last long enough to type one up.

SO...

Please bear with me, I'll get everything I need as I can get to it. Feel free to comment, accept, ask questions, whatever you need.

Role Play Sample:

The old couple didn't bother to hide their stare as they walked past the bus stop bench. The man stared down at the young girl sitting by herself on the bench, then quickly turned his glance away. The woman on the other hand turned her head to continue staring as they walked away. Rosie watched them walk away, smiling and waving as though there was nothing wrong at all. And there shouldn't have been. After all, she hadn't asked them about where she was at, what time it was, if the Joker was around... none of that. She was just sitting here all by herself, all quiet, with some scruffy stray cat that smelled like Chinese food. Sure she was wearing a little gold crown in her hair with heart shaped rubies, had her face all painted white with a little bit of red clown-influenced paint... a heart-shaped red patch on her lips, large red dots on her cheeks. And... a frilly red and gold dress and dark red leather boots with a shiny belt and a poofy top to hide her guns and a heart shaped backpack that had more guns and...

Okay, so they had reason to stare. She was all dressed up and dolled up to be out on the town. Just not... this town. So far everyone had stared at her like she was on her way to some kind of convention. And when she brought up Joker, they either thought she was crazy, thought she was some obsessed fan, or... uneasily backed away from her and called the cops. She hadn't seen any so far, luckily. That's all she would need. She was in a completely new place, no one knew who she was, everyone thought she was nuts when she even suggested that Joker could have raised a little kid, she only had so much of her gas rounds on her, she had no place to stay, and it was getting dark now.

Grrrrrrggrrrrrggrrrllll....

.... and she was hungry.

The scruffy brown Tabby cat sitting next to her feet perked it's head up at her. Rosie pursed her lips and looked down at him. "Yeah, you're not helping anything you know." The cat meowed at her, then moved closer to her feet. Rosie frowned, then slumped back into the bench. "Stop thaaaaaaat..." she whined. "You went dumpster diving behind a Chinese restaurant, you smell like chicken, and I'm starving. You're a nuisance. I should toss you at the face of the next person who walks by me and snickers. Stop actin cute." The cat meowed at her again, then snuggled up next to her feet.

Rosie sighed deeply and glanced around the street. The street lights had just come on, the street was beginning to become void of casual traffic, and it was going to become very dark soon. Normally she wouldn't mind that, but... bleh. It had been a long day and she'd only been wandering this street for a few hours now. Rosie curled her lips to the side, then sighed and stood from the bench. The cat glanced up at her and flicked his tail.

"Comming or staying. Your choice. I sure as heck ain't sleeping on a bench in the middle of the street." Rosie said as she began walking down the sidewalk. Her mood was starting to wear thin, but it was probably out of exhaustion. That spell she messed up had taken a bit out of her to begin with. Then she wound up here. No idea what to do... no anything. The longer she had wandered around this city, the more she realized just how sheltered her life had been. She had no money, no food, no home, no weapons other than what she was carrying with her... and she had no idea what to do. None. She was just... she just wanted to go home.

Sure, it had occurred to her that this was her big chance to make a name for herself. To finally become a little more independent. Get out from under that enormous shadow her "father" cast over Gotham. With that though also came the realization that she could finally make friends. Finally date someone. There was none of the whole "Don't go near her, she's the Joker's kid!" Or that nice little bit where someone DID make a brave attempt to get close to her, and Daddy would be looking over her shoulder. Any friends she tried to make usually ended up dead, or were manipulated and... she didn't have friends. Just the henchmen that were hired to be around her, and even THEY didn't last long. And boyfriends? Forget it. Never seen from again. And if they were, they ran the next time she seen them.

Yep... she was finally free to be her own person and have more of a "normal" life, and the excitement for that lasted all of a few hours. Now she wanted to go home. She didn't want to live on the street, she had no idea how she was going to steal food... because she wasn't robbing a bank or just someone passing by because.... because... oooooh.... THAT'S a pretty Ruby...

Rosie's train of thought derailed once she passed by a jewelry store. In the front window, was a large gold and ruby necklace filled with rose and heart designs. The red and white teenager stopped in front of the window and pressed her hands against the glass. As she stared down at the display, a scruffy little brown and black tail swept across her legs. "Nuisance... I think I just found something that's going to cheer me up." Rosie mumbled quietly to the stray cat.

The creature flicked his ears and meowed up at her. "Come on... Lets see if I can get this thing from a distance. I don't feel like getting glass in my dress." Rosie glanced around the street, making sure that there was no one around. Satisfied, she hurried across the street and stopped in the alley of a nearby building. The cat blinked, then chased after her. Rosie pulled her top away from her neck, and carefully pulled out a snub-nose revolver from inside her top. With a smile, she aimed her gun across the street and at the window of the store. She pulled the trigger, and an arrow shot out of her gun. The tip of it smashed through the window, and knocked the display onto the floor. The tabby cat jumped and ducked behind a box at the sudden movement.

"Oh calm down..." Rosie replied, smiling. She grabbed a thin cord that was now stretched across the street and yanked it. The arrow felt heavier than it should have been, so the curved blades at the end of the arrow had to have snagged something. "Now watch. All I've gotta do is put a little bit of my magical energy into the cord, yank it back, and we can run of with our take-home prize." she said. She grabbed the cord tightly, her fingers glowing lightly, then yanked back. "We'll have to find a home to take it home to, of course, but you get my drift."

The arrow was pulled straight back through the air, and fell to the ground at Rosie's feet. With...a silver and green necklace. Rosie stared at the thing for a long moment, then back up at the broken window. "Now... wait, that wasn't even in the window." she mumbled to herself. She paused another moment, glanced about the street again, then ran back over to the store. The cat chased after her again.

Rosie stopped in front of the broken window and stared inside. She spotted her prize clear across the floor, nearly on the other side of the store. "Now how did it... I didn't hit it THAT hard, did I?" she said with a frown. She may have... she probably did... she was getting glass in her dress. If the alarm hadn't gone off by now, it wasn't going to. So she pulled up the ruffled skirt of her dress, and lifted her leg up so that she could climb her way inside.

The moment her boot hit the inside of the store, lights began to flash and a loud buzzing began to ring out. Rosie yelped and jumped back, stumbling back onto the street. Not wanting to be around for the police to find, Rosie sprinted back to the other side of the street. The stray cat following closely behind her. Once she reached the alley again, she hid behind a dumpster and looked back towards the store. She bit her bottom lip slightly, then looked down at the cat who was now hiding behind her feet. She frowned at him, then pointed back towards the store. "Well, go get it! A cat's not going to get arrested for swiping something."

The cat looked up at her, then cocked it's head to the side. Rosie stared at it for a moment, then sighed and carefully moved out from around the dumpster. "I'll bet Catwoman's cats would'a done it...." she muttered. She was going to have to use more magical energy to get it then. Fine. Just blast it, get it, and go. No biggy.

Rosie held her hand up towards the store window. Again, her fingers began to glow with a dim, red light. Her eyes began to turn a deep red color, and she narrowed her gaze onto the broken window. After another long moment, the glowing light grew very bright. A red glow filled the inside of the store, and the gold and ruby necklace came flying out of the store. Rosie smiled and grabbed the necklace from the air as it came to her. "There! Now then, time to get-" she began, turning to look down at the cat.

The Tabby's eyes were wide as he stared past her, and his scruffy fur was standing on end. Rosie blinked, then turned to look back at the store. Just in time to see boxes, jewelry, displays, and a computer flying through the air towards her. The girl yelped and dove behind the dumpster, and the poor cat scurried out of the way. The magically propelled items landed hard against the concrete and brick wall of the alley. Rosie grumbled some very un-lady-like things to herself and crawled out from behind the dumpster. "Okay... to much of a hurry and too much elbow grease." she said, tossing a banana peel off of her dress.

The cat growled at her from somewhere under the dumpster. "Oh... be quiet. This wouldn't have happened if you'd just gone in and grabbed it when I asked." Rosie muttered, hurrying towards the scattered debree to swipe what other jewelry was just lying around now. "...Nuisance." she grumbled.

Wow, thank you!
As soon as I'm able to get it typed up, I'll introduce Rosie sometime this weekend. Her introduction is probably going to be just as long as the role play sample. I tend to do that when I'm role playing by myself...

And I just noticed my new status. I haven't even started role playing yet... I'm flattered. sweatdrop
