They had traveled and despite the fact Burrom didn't seem to want to go anyway he felt that the young girl needed to fight something that wasn't nearly as intimidating as a dragon. It was apparent that she needed the experience but trying something that wasn't nearly as intimidating was the first step at gaining some confidence. So they had traveled to the coastal shores to locate a creature called a Triefen. Burrom had recalled the creatures in his travels, they looked similar to dragons...if by the only resemblance was that they were reptilian. Now on the sandy shores the creature was roped and tied to a rock near shore. Burrom had located one and using a make shift pen managed to corral the creature into it. The dovaa man was tired of hunting down creatures for the girl to practice her magic on. This way if she didn't manage to kill it they could keep it alive in the pen and then she could attempt again.
The triefen was agitated for good reason, after all it had been forcefully removed from its territory and then locked up in this joke of trap. Though it had on several attempts tried to barrel its way through the feeble wood, the man had sent waves of fire towards it or used its horrible spear to strike at it. It had learned to stop trying to escape.
But what was this? A young girl was then placed into the pen with it. Though it wasn't entirely eager to charge her either. She was on the shore while the creature was at the farthest point of the pen, in the deepest part of the waters it could get in.
"Alright, now kill it."
The instructions were clear and the young girl was looking over the creature before her. She appeared nervous and wasn't exactly sure how to begin. The triefen was observing her too, though she didn't look like it would need to worry about her much. So it was Tilawen who had to make the first move, and it certainly hadn't expected a funnel of fire coming from her direction. The creature was hit, but now blind with rage and pain it rushed forward on its short And fin like appendages. You wouldn't think a creature so low to the ground and out of its element would be able to cover so much ground but it took a bite at her.
Taking a step back the triefen only bit into her dress, ripping it cleanly with its sharp teeth. The sound of tearing only seemed to upset the girl as she brought her staff down upon the creatures head, its skull however was as hard as stone and all she managed to do was make her arms go numb. Dodging to the side as it tried to make another snap at her with its teeth, she was having a hard time focusing as her arms were still rather numb.
"Keep moving. Your not a fighter so make sure to keep your distance. Your greatest weakness is your body. So keep everything away by using your magic."
The words were barked at her and soon the poor girl was forced to play a game of cat and mouse with the creature but to little effect. Soon both creature and girl were exhausted and taking their losses Burrom stepped in and scooped the girl up and away from the pen. They wouldn't need to worry about the creature escaping as it was too exhausted to move.
"Tomorrow you will Kill it." Came the dovaa's man command, it was not as reassuring as it was suppose to sound...
