Euthyphro lay at the edge of the cliff over looking over a waterfall. It was one he frequented often, though he never tried to squeeze behind it anymore. The day was warm and the heavy winter snows were melting causing the river to engorge and the layer of ice formed over the waterfall to crack and fall.

Judah didn't like the cold. She'd only ventured this way on a whim, thinking there might be better game here than in the desert. Unfortunately, she forgot that would mean she'd have to navigate the lands and she really didn't know anything about them.
She'd started chasing a rabbit, but she had lost it somewhere along the way and now she was just too stubborn to admit she didn't know where she was.

Lost in his thoughts Euthy didn't notice the presence of the horrendously dangerous kalona passing nearby. The worst part was that he wasn't even really considering anything terribly important. He was just pondering the nature of ice and snow and the beauty of the falls before him.

She spotted him, up on top of the waterfall, staring down at the ice like an idiot. She let out a derisive snort. What a daft imbecile.
Stopping some distance away, she considered him. He was bigger than her, much. But she had the element of surprise, and she was a Kalona! If she played it right, she could push him over the edge of the cliff.
She'd have to damage his wings first of course. Or startle him quickly enough that he didn't think to fly. If he flew away she would never catch him.
Taking a moment to assess the situation, she began to sneak towards him, light on her hooves.

He remained unaware of her approach. The cold snow beneath him was begining to melt and soak into his coat. Sighing, he shifted. Maybe there was a better, dryer vantage point he could move too. Looking back toward the waterfall he noticed that a rather large chunk of ice was about to fall at any moment. Okay. He'd wait for that. Once it fell he'd find a dry spot or go home.

She continued to sneak closer, having some difficulty on the slippery ice. Living in the desert her experience with ice was very limited and she found it hard to keep her footing. It really wasn't that much of a surprise when her feet came out from under her and she fell, cursing loudly.

Euthy's ears perked and he got up, then turned, wondering what had happened. When he saw the pegasus trying to get up off the ground he started over, "Are you alright?" It wasn't until he was right next to her and she was nearly too her feet that he clued in. Not a pegasus. A kalona! He spread his wings, ready to make a dash for the edge. He'd never learned to fight, but maybe, if he had too, he'd be able to out pace her.

Judah was still sputtering and cursing when her prey noticed her fall and came rushing over. It was so hard to find purchase on the slippery ice, so hard to help herself back up, but she'd be damned if she'd accept help from an angeni!
"Do I look like I'm alright?!" she spat at him, slipping again on the ice and sinking back down on her flank. She was going to break her leg at this rate.

"It's actually rather comical," the smirk faded from his lips as he realized what he'd just said. Oh boy. He laughed nervously and took a step back. "Feet straight down on the ice... not to the side like... oh... Yeah, that won't work..." did he have a death wish?

The sneer on Judah's face was almost enough to melt the ice. It was a good thing that she had fallen, or otherwise she would have taken the angeni down with her own hooves and teeth. The b*****d, laughing at her!
"Go away," she barked. "I can get up myself, I don't need help from the likes of you!"

"You look like you're going to break something..." despite his words he took another step back. He was fully aware that going over to help her up would only result in injury to his own body. He'd feel terrible just leaving but what other choice did he have?

"Idiot," she spat at him. "Stupid daft angeni. I am a kalona, I don't need you!" Turning away from him she tried once more to get up. She nearly succeeded, using her tail as leverage, but at the last moment she slipped again and crashed down with a howl.

His ears fell back, he was stupid. There was nothing he could do and if he did stay and she managed to get to her feet he'd be in danger. The cliff was right behind him and he was ready to fly, "Fine." He resolved to return in an hour to see how she was getting along.

Judah spat at him as he turned away. She didn't need him. She didn't need anyone. Pity was for the weak, and so was accepting help. She was stronger than that.
Turning her head away from him, she once again tried to get herself to her feet, ignoring Euthy now.
