Kolli had been sending reports to Pirata as he had new information for her. So far the herd had bought his story and he hadn't had any issues. Trying to keep his information straight had been a bit difficult, but he managed to with only a few minor hiccups that no one had noticed anyway. Most of the herd left him alone as he kept to himself and Mercy for the most. Playing the 'shy' stallion had made it easier to integrate into the herd. Having everyone ask him questions all the time would have been much more difficult.

The only one he had really allowed near him much was Mercy. He would still act shy when she was around, but the pretended to let his guard down more while she was near. It seemed that his plan had worked like a charm. Yet he knew his task wasn't done until Pirata gave him new orders. Until then he would continue to woo the mare and keep his eyes open for any new information.

It had been a fair bit of time since Mercy had found Kolli wounded in the woods and although the stallions wounds had healed he had stuck around - a fact that Mercy had been greatly appreciative of. Although she had not known him long in the grand scheme of things it felt as though she had...Mercy could not think of life without him, Kale and Ironforge cautioned her against 'young love' but they were both older and in her mind ..more then a little bit cynical about life in general.

What did they know of love?

Mercy had been content to wait and let them see for themselves that although her relationship with Kolli was fresh and new it would be long lasting and true...but the seed of doubt had been planted by their words and so it was with a bit of trepidation that she sought him out today. How strange to be both excited..and anxious about a trip home! On one hand it would be wonderful to see her family again, even more so when messengers had brought home the news of Syrrin and Olo's children to be! But ..would Kolli wait for her? If she left would he still be here upon her return? He had not yet made any other friends in the herd save her..he was far to shy to do so and she worried that without her here he might just return to his wandering way and be gone again. Furrowing her brow slightly in worry Mercy Trotted towards the little grove of trees where Kolli was most often found when he wasn't with her. "Kolli?" She called out "Are you here?"

Kolli turned as he heard the mare approach. "Over here!" He called out to her, announcing his presence. Thankfully she appeared to be alone, although she did seem a little nervous today. She wasn't on to him was she? No, he didn't think so. Mercy was too naive and he suspected that no matter what he did, she wouldn't want to believe that he had 'darkness' in his heart. She was the sort of mare who'd rather go on playing make-believe living some dreamt up fairy tale than actually face reality.

For just a brief moment he felt sorry for the mare. He couldn't recall Pirata ever actually telling him what she had done, but he wondered if she truly deserved whatever Pirata had in store for her. No matter though, it wasn't his job to question his mistress' intentions and motives, all he had to do was carry them out. Even if he perhaps didn't agree with them.

Mercy was relieved when she heard Kolli's voice..which was silly, I mean no matter her thoughts she had known he hadn't left yet, was fairly certain he wouldn't just leave out of the blue on her like that. But..even the thought of him leaving had been enough to make her thankful to hear his voice. Funny how that worked..Ironforge would tell her she was being foalish but oh well.

Reaching out she nuzzled him lightly as she came close. "I'm glad your here, I got some news from home today that I wasn't to share with you." she told him with a strange mixture of pleasure and anxiety in her voice. No matter her efforts to place her fears at bay it seemed they were quite determined to doggedly follow her throughout this conversation...better to get it over with and lay it to rest completely then.

Kolli's curiosity was piqued but the mare's words. What did she have to tell him? Since he hadn't worked his way too deeply into the rest of the herd he didn't catch as many of the rumors as he probably should. Now that he thought about it, Pirata was likely to scold him for that later. Yet he felt his role was safer this way and he was less likely to be found out. If he slipped around Mercy he might be able to salvage himself. A slip in front of Ironforge would get him run out of the herd for sure.

"What is it?" He asked her curiously as he returned her nuzzle. Was the herd going to be moving? If that was the case he would have to send word to Pirata. Though he figured something like that he would have caught wind of, even if he didn't speak much to the others. It was probably something smaller, some bit of gossip she heard from one of the other mares. As tiresome as he found mare gossip, it could still potentially be a bit of useful information.

Ah and now that he had expressed some interest in what she wanted to tell him Mercy supposed there really was no backing out of it...best to just forge ahead then right? "A messenger from my home herd came today, they brought news that some of my adopted family are expecting foals at any times!...and even better...Ironforge has given me permission to travel home to see them!" Mercy exclaimed cheerfully, although there was a slight shadow to her cheerfulness as she couldn't quite shake the worry that Kolli would not remain here while she was gone.

"It's very exciting..I haven't been home for a visit since well..it's been a long time...though I expect I will miss quite a few of the herd members here while I am away.." She added with a slightly bashful look at him.

More foals? Kolli wasn't sure what he cared for new foals. It all seemed like silly mare nonsense to him, yet the news might interest Pirata. He would certainly have to keep his ears open for any more information pertaining to this news. Yet with Mercy leaving the herd, even for a brief time, it bothered Kolli. Should he insist on going with her? Would she even let him? Or should he report to Pirata instead? The stallion found himself faced with a situation that he couldn't quite solve.

Perhaps he would allow Mercy to take the lead on this one. If she wanted him to come along then she would invite him. However, if no invitation was given, he would simply wait here and contact Pirata. "It sounds like it'll be an exciting trip for you. It's always good to get away for some time and new foals will be exciting." Being the stallion he was, he didn't quite catch onto her bashful look

Mercy waited for several moments after Kolli had spoken before responding, she wasn't sure exactly what she was waiting for..perhaps for him to ask how long she would be gone..or for him to seem at least a little bit sad that she was leaving. When neither of those situations presented themselves however she shook the feeling off. She was being silly and clingy and altogether far to foalish she told herself...of course Kolli would just be happy about her news..he wasn't the type to be selfish about it all.

Of course that still didn't solve her wanting him to go with her, there were a few reasons of course...she wanted to spend time with him obviously..but it would also be nice for him to meet her family as she was quite certain in her heart of hearts that he was her one and only. Since he wasn't going to offer to come along she supposed she would just have to bite the bullet and ask him too..."Maybe..maybe if you wanted to..you could come as well? Meet my family? See where I came from?" She paused and then glaned back out over the meadow suddenly embarrassed. "That is..if you want too, you don't have to."

Well then, it appeared as if Kolli would be tagging along with the mare after all. He wasn't sure if he should be glad or upset. He wasn't looking forward to all the 'romantic' talk and what not, but at the same time it was easier to be around Mercy than all of the others. At the very least, the trip should prove to be entertaining enough and would likely lead to an even bigger heart-break in the end. The more damage he did to this mare, the more likely Pirata was to promote him. Smiling happily to himself, he pretended to be the ever devoted companion to Mercy.

"Of course I'll go with you." He told her cheerfully. "I'd feel out of sorts here any way. I know the rest of the herd is nice, I just..." He trailed off a moment to appear to be nervous and at a loss for words. "I suppose I haven't found myself comfortable with any of them the way that I am with you." The words made Kolli want to gag, but he knew they were exactly what the mare would want to hear.

Mercy didn't think she could be happier if she tried, it seemed she had been acting silly after all..Kolli wanted to come with her, he was just, as she had told herself, far to much of a gentlemen to force his presence on her. The idea of visiting home had been exciting enough but now..being able to bring Kolli with her? It was like a dream come true and if she were still a foal she likely would have squealed in delight. Imagine all the interesting conversations they could have along the way? it would give them time to really get to know one another..oh sure they spent a good deal of time together already but with her training moving steadily back into full gear and the rest of her herdly duties..well free time was a bit in short supply someday's.

"It's alright, it took me some time to find friends in the herd too." She told Kolli soothingly, sure she hadn't been as shy as he was but it had still taken time to break into the group - all herds were like that she was sure. "they really are quite nice though..you'll become fast friends in no time." She told him with a decisive nod of her head. "Oh! I expect I should go and tell Ironforge that you'l be coming with me, I'm sure he won't complain and having you come with me means I probably won't have to take Sorin either..he's a nice owl..but a bit on the fussy side and I want to have fun this trip!." She told him before trotting off a few paces and then coming to a quick stop and wheeling around. "Meet me right here tomorrow morning?" She asked Kolli "Ironforge wants me to leave as soon as possible...so I can get back to training as soon as possible of course." She added with a slight roll of her eyes before darting off again.
