Another day, another dragon it would seem. He was back to his training once more, to practice his various spells and become more proficient with them. While there was a part of him that would have rather stayed with Erionda he knew that it was time to head out. If the Dovaa Sage figure out that he was out messing around with friends instead of actually going about the training he'd been sent to Eowyn for the man would have a fit. Best that he continue on with what he'd been doing before he was so lucky as to stumble across his friend during a battle against the Kiandri, "It was nice while it last but we really did need to get going." He said to Abellio who was trotting along next to him, once more wearing his cloak. He meant to get Abellio one of his own one day soon but for the moment, given that they were in the middle of nowhere and preparing the fight dragons, he supposed that it was alright to allow him to wear it for the time being.
"I think our best bet would be to head back to the oasis, given the draw that the water has it's pretty likely that more Kiandri will show up there." He was saying to the little Keinling as they went, a soft smile on his lips. This was what he was supposed to be doing, he couldn't slow down and play with his friends for all that long, not when he wasn't so lucky as to have been born normal. Their kind, Erionda, Tilawen, Tyrok, and various others, had to work harder, to be stronger, so they could keep themselves and those they care for safe. Due to this simple fact alone he wasn't allowed to sit still like he would prefer to do. He was sure that Erionda would be alright, she had Lanzecki, Uassae, and Kilian after all.
As the two of them made it to the top of the dune that allowed them to look over the oasis he couldn't help but to marvel over how the sands had been quick to swallow up the skeletons of the Kiandri that they had defeated in the area. Just little bits of them were seen here and there, making him stare for a long time before turning to look at the Kiandri that seemed to have taken their place. There didn't seem to be as many of them as there were the Ysali but there were still plenty to go around. Lifting his staff up he started to gather power into it before looking to Abellio, "You get yourself into hiding mode." He told him, waiting until he'd hunkered down and hidden himself under the cloak before he cast the spell, allowing some vines, though they were still few and quite weak, to burst out of the ground to entangle the Kiandri before he raced forward, casting a secondary spell the blind the creature, and once he was close to the tangled up, flailing beast he put it down as quickly as he could with the head of his staff. As it crumbled away he gave a sighing sound, knowing that soon this one would be swallowed by the sands and forgotten, "I won't forget, I will use the power you have given wisely." He said, scooping up the orb and tucked it away into his pack.
He was turning around toward where he'd left Abellio when he heard the Keinling suddenly shrieking in his head to 'WATCH OUT!' A warning that came to late as a second Kiandri attacked, it's tail colliding with his midsection, sending him flying a good distance before Junjie crashed down into the hot sands, his body shaking from the surge of electricity that had been sent through his body. It hurt... and for a moment he didn't think that he would be able to move, his whole body felt as though it had been paralyzed. His hand grasped weakly at the staff that had fallen a short distance away from him, trying to get hold of it so that he would be able to cast again, needing to defend himself against the creature that was slowly making its way toward him. It was likely intent upon doing to him what Junjie had done to the Kiandri before it, wanting to finish him off while he was down.
Much to his surprise his staff was suddenly being dropped next to him, Abellio seeming to have rushed over despite the danger, to give him the weapon, "A-Abellio...? Ahh... t-thanks..." He gasped out, grasping hold of the weapon, "Close your eyes." He said, before casting a blinding spell on the Kiandri, giving him time to drag his aching form to his feet and hobbled away. He would heal once he got himself far enough away, not wanting to risk it straight away when the blinding spell would fade soon enough, allowing the angry dragon to attack once more.
