A senshi sat on a park bench, seemingly reading a newspaper.

It was an odd thing to do, to be sure. Aquarius knew that it was odd. But she was an odd person. She had a messenger bag on the bench next to her, which was filled with all sorts of useful paraphernalia. Her first aid kit. A toy lightsaber. A bag of cookies, open and at the top, from which she took a treat every few minutes. And, safely tucked away at the bottom, the earthbound copy of her notes on alien languages.

Her last visit to the park had been more fruitful than expected. Berry season wasn't for another couple of weeks. But maybe, if she was lucky, she could get an early harvest.

"Man, even I don't understand my puns anymore," she grumbled, flipping a page of her absolutely terrible disguise.

Eunomia probably couldn't call it patrolling. There was the one fact that she was out and about, breaking Asteroid rules again, and the other was that she just wasn't looking for anything.

The tall senshi walked the park slowly, arms hugged against her as she looked up at the sky. Somewhere up there was her asteroid, constantly weighing down on her, repelling and pulling her away at once.

She was finding less and less value in her status as a senshi every day.

She had excused it with finals, wanting to find a new job, important things. Much more important than this superhero silliness. Though, she might've taken back the silly part if she knew what the odd senshi she encountered had in her messenger bag.

"Hey, I know you," The scarf was imprinted in her mind indefinitely. Too ad her name wasn't.

Aquarius could feel the other presence before she saw its source. It was a good one. Strong, but not too strong. Still, that was no reason to let her guard down. Just because it wasn't an enemy didn't mean it was an ally. Or maybe it was an enemy who hadn't become an enemy yet.

Paranoia was unpleasant, but considering the only alternative Aquarius could see was death, she just went with it.

When the senshi came into view, however, she did relax, letting her newspaper cover her lap like a blanket. "I remember you. From that nightmare they called a meeting. You were with the unconscious guy, right? You're, um..." Names were so not Aquarius' strong suit. Come to think of it, she wasn't sure they'd even introduced themselves. She also wasn't sure she wanted to now, since that would mean she'd be expected to remember the name for next time.

"So, how's life been treating you since then?" Maybe someone else was actually having a decent time of things. That would be nice to hear about.

"Eunomia," She cut in after the pause. But it wasn't like she was any better. "Yes, I remember the... scarf," Scarf senshi was probably not her name, though.

"Fine, I guess."

It was such a passive answer, she didn't know why she bothered. It was flat and lacking enthusiasm, sort of the way she was feeling about senshidom in general.

"What's in the bag?" She couldn't imagine why a senshi would need something out like that. Her things were safe in subspace and she certainly didn't need any of it for patrolling.

Oh great, another name she'd probably forget. "Eunomia. Right." Doing her best to act like she knew that all along, Aquarius carelessly tucked her braid behind her ear. "It's a nice scarf, I guess. Keeps my head warm." Wow, did she really just say that? This had to be the most boring conversation ever.

Not that she had much to work with. The other senshi- Eunomia, she reminded herself- didn't seem particularly interested. Aquarius wondered if she had touched on a sore spot. If bad things were happening to other people, she really didn't need to know the details. And she wasn't about to pressure someone into reliving untold horrors.

So, the bag. That was a safe and pertinent subject. "Oh, just a few things I like to have in case I need them. First aid kid. Cookies. Alphabets from several alien civilizations that have been dead for the past thousand years. You know, the usual."

With that slightly witty introduction, Aquarius folded her paper up. "So, have you ever been up there?" She pointed up, then frowned. Cloudy nights were no fun.
