Pie in a lot of ways, was fulfilling. It filled space, cured that sweet tooth and well, always reminded of home. Pie always reminded of home.
Except when its in Deus. Right now, as she sat on her bed. She contemplated the whole reason she was doing this? Talking was fine, cuddling was better but...How long could you resist charm? She had never been promiscuous but...
She flipped her phone opened, trailed down to text Roland and....
Closed it. Not tonight.
Tonight was about talking with Tuck. and just how much trouble his dimples were.

He wasn't entirely sure what he was doing.
Tuck had always had a weakness for pretty girls. He knew Nevada was taken, and he'd never, ever been one to poach from other men - but he'd also always been the sort to find a way to get what he wanted. Now, Tuck had a strong sense of right and wrong, but there was just something about Nevada that roused his curiosity, made him want to learn more about her.
It was the same pull that Candace had over him, and it wasn't simply because they were both lovely women.
Maybe it was because they were Mists.
That thought brought a grin to his face, one that remained even as he knocked on the door to Nevada's room. He had no intention of doing anything that might be unwelcome, but Tuck felt the pressing urge to set things straight between himself and pretty little Mist.

Nevada breath caught at the knock on the door, steeling herself. One breath in, one out and...
She was at the door in a brief lazy stride, pulling the door open to show her smaller body frame in it. Violet eyes lidded as she smiled up at him.
"No pie?" she moved back, opening the door more for him to come in. "Take a seat handsome, and we can...talk."

"No pie," Tuck slid past her, enjoying the difference in height. He wouldn't let himself think about how easy it would be to lift her up and put her exactly where he wanted her, how he wanted her - cleaning latrines, peeling potatoes, doing dishes, doing dishes, doing dishes.
He was here to talk. Nothing more.
...unless she asked for it.
He took a seat on the bed, falling back to his elbows as he stretched out. Yeah, there were chairs, but the bed...
Tuck inhaled.
The room smelled like her.
A huge grin lit up his features, dimples and all.
"Can I be honest with you, Nevada?"

"Shame." She teased, shutting the door behind her with a click. She wouldn't lie though, height wasn't something she was accustomed too. Especially Tuck's. "I have to say Tuck, you are one tall drink of water hun."
She watched him sit down and take up...well all of her bed. it wasn't like it was super big anyways.
She came to stand in front of him though, leaning down and gazing at him intently.
"I appreciate honesty, So why not? Tell me what's on your mind handsome. It doesn't have to leave here.

"Aww, naw, ain't nothin' so deep as that."
He didn't break eye contact.
"I'm just wonderin' if your mouth tastes like cherries is all."
That grin on his face grew even broader.
"Now, what's this you was sayin' about snugglin' or cuddlin' or whatever you was sayin'? I was distracted. Can't blame me," he added lazily.

Nevada blinked and her ever lazy smiled kept widening. At his question, she all but laughed. Taking a seat next to him on the bed, she leaned her head over and rested it on his shoulder, making herself at ease.
"Snuggling, but only at my instigation. And we do only things if I say yes to them." She chuckled, "Because you're trouble when I get a look at your dimples, handsome."
Settling next to him, she went back to his former question.
"I haven't taste my own mouth, but since the taste of cherry pie still lingers..." She slid violet eyes over to his, "I'm going to say yes. You like cherries Tuck?"

Tuck couldn't help the laugh that rumbled around in his chest. He moved over so that she had room, and while he laughed, he still listened intently to whatever it was she had to say.
So snuggles, but only at her instigation - and he needed her permission to do things.
Things.
"Sounds like a fair enough deal, Nevada. I ain't never made it a habit of puttin' myself where I wasn't wanted, and I ain't about to start now. I would like to hear 'bout these things you mentioned, if you don't mind."
He was silently smiling while he thought about her final question, hazel eyes meeting those pretty violet ones. He made no move to wrap her up in his arms, as he was perfectly content to enjoy her presence against his side.
"I like cherries, ma'am," he admitted roughly, eyes dipping down briefly before lifting back to meet hers.
"I like cherries a lot."

Wow, that was a deep rumbling laugh. The contrast of how Roland's body was compared to Tuck's was like well...comparing a sapling to a full grown tree. And she felt the vibrations from his chest, on hers.
"Definitely not wanted Handsome..." She wouldn't admit right away just how much she was feeling the urge to lean over and satisfy both of their curiosity. "Things can mean many different... activities. Snuggling happens to be my favorite, I like close contact." She reached over, touching his shirt at the collar bone, splaying her fingers over it. Her head tilted a little bit up as she debated. How far could she go? What was the limit of curiosity? It was burning right there on the forefront of her mind.
"Alright, Would you like a bite?" She tilted chin up, "Be gentle, it might be too sweet."
And then she could talk to him. One kiss, and she could find out why she found him so compelling and attractive when she was attached to someone else.

Tuck listened silently as Nevada spoke, eyes heavy-lidded and dark.
"It's whatever you want it t'be, Nevada," Tuck's voice was low and rough. She was tempting him, and he was allowing himself to be tempted.
Lowering his head, Tuck ghosted his lips across hers.
"I want a bite," he rasped softly before deepening the kiss.
His tongue traced along the seam of her lips before delving deeper, eager for the tart taste of cherries mingled with Nevada's own distinct flavor. Soon enough he gently applied teeth to her lips, carefully nibbling along her lower lip.
Tuck forced himself to pull back after that harmless enough kiss, letting out a low, "Mmm," as he settled back. "You taste good."

What she wanted it to be? She wanted to go back and stop herself from rolling in his bed late at night. It was funny that a small scent of his...pretty much sparked something inside. It was...different. With Roland, it had been warm and sweet and slow.
Her attraction for Tuck was purely...well...lust. She liked his body, she liked his quick wit and well...she desired a connection that he had. His twins. It was weird. Something she didn't quite understand herself.
At first, she thought the kiss was going to be just that. A tease, and a ghost. Much like their flirtation. And then his voice was rasping against hers and it was deeper, more...intense.
Husky, she would even say. Heady.
Her eyes slid shut out of habit as she turned her head, urging his kiss even more before pulling back. Mirroring his sound, violet eyes opened and stared at him with liquid heat. Then she leaned back and smiled.
"That...was very nice Tuck." She eased her way from his side to his lap and resting on him, sipping at the warmth that other bodies always possessed. Her hands went to massaging his shoulders. "Tell me about yourself Tuck. What were you...before you came here?"

Tuck's eyes closed when Nevada encouraged his kiss, and he didn't open them until after she'd moved onto him. When Nevada climbed onto his lap, Tuck fell back on the bed completely. His hands moved to brace against her hips, though it didn't take long before they were idly running up and down her spine in slow, circular motions. As much as her proximity made him ...eager, he would stop the instant she asked him to. Tuck trusted Nevada to speak if he moved out of turn or did something she felt inappropriate. She was running the game, he was only a very, very eager participant. "Thank you, ma'am," there was a laugh in his voice, and his eyes opened into hazel slits. "For a long time I was just a college boy from a small town in Idaho. Started hearin' s**t, seein' s**t." He cleared his throat. "Joined the Army. AIT at Benning, stationed at Fort Lewis before they shipped me off overseas. Spent some time in Afghanistan." He didn't elaborate. "What about you, Nevada?" Tuck readjusted himself on the bed before readjusting himself elsewhere. Nevada was given a wry, dimpled grin.

"No problem Handsome." She rested her hands on his chest and looked down at him, idly cocking her head to the side. He wasn't much different from her. Young, doe-eyed. Just hitting the college scene...
"We were much younger...my twin and I..." she murmured, "Alaska and I...we were young when we saw the shadows. Our mom was the only one we told...our dad well..." She smiled, "He was already upset about having daughters, twin ones and didn't want much more to worry with."
She eased down, resting her chin on his shoulder.
"Girls weren't really his...." She shrugged, "So Alaska ran away first. She was tired of how he treated us, turning us into fine and upstanding women of society with high paying jobs...and no choices for ourselves. His attention turned to me, I was just getting into college. Ditched, started searching for Alaska and now I'm here. And she's in a pod downstairs."
Nevada shrugged, those feelings...she hadn't even told Roland about them. Otto knew, because they shared with each other but this was the first time she had told someone right out.
What was so compelling about Tuck? Was it because he was a twin too? he might share the feelings?
"That was more then I shared with Roland...." As if saying his name out loud would help her remember that she had someone she had claimed and been claimed by. Although all they did was sleep in the same bed, and shared a few kisses. "I don't know why I find it easier to talk about it with you...Sometimes I'm scared to tell him, because he's scared to deal with all the other things..." She whispered that, moving her lips over Tucks again. "He's too innocent for me..."
Too innocent that it scared her, and because it scared her...she was starting to do things to push him away again. Reverting back to flirtations and easy nights. And she could focus on waking Alaska all over again.
"I'm getting a little sappy handsome...Won't you distract me?"

Tuck was quiet while Nevada spoke. He felt saddened by the fact her family had been a little broken. His had been pretty good - his parents loved each other as much if not more than they had the first time they'd spoken the words to one another, and they had raised their kids with a wholesome and loving approach. He hadn't been able to ruin that for them, not with the sights he'd seen and the nightmares he'd been forced to deal with.
Running had been so much easier.
As it was, Tuck remained quiet and still as she spoke, tilting his head now and again to press a kiss against her hair, or to wrap his arms around her so that he could offer a gentle squeeze of reassurance.
He didn't deepen the kiss when she first pressed her lips to his, despite the fact that he wanted to. When Nevada asked him to distract her, he wasn't sure how to proceed. How much did she want from him?
How much could he stand?
Resting his hands on the flare of her hips, Tuck's eyes narrowed as he watched her lips.
"I can handle whatever you gotta tell me, Nevada. I know how you feel, right now, even every day when you think 'bout your sister. When I left home, I thought about my sister every day. Never knew if I was gonna see her again. There's that bond, y'know? An' I don't know if she ever gonna wake up, your sister, but you can't never stop hopin' that she gonna wake up, someday."
His fingers dug into the flesh of her a** just slightly, a troubled expression on his face.
"I ain't gonna ask you to do whatever you want. I ain't askin' for a relationship, nothin' long term, no promises kept n' none broken, neither. Whatever you want to keep a secret, we can keep a secret."
Tuck ran one hand up her back to tangle in the hair at the nape of her neck.
"What kinna distractions you lookin' for, violet eyes? I'm aimin' to be whatever it is you need tonight."

She could see the empathy in Tuck's eyes. A runner. Runners knew each other. She had been running for freedom and her family. He'd been running to keep them safe. She didn't have to know to feel it. And at this moment she felt it. that similar connection.
"It was hard. I'm the younger of us identical ones. I had a certain more amount of freedom than Alaska but..." She gave him a sad smile, "She was overwhelmed, Our dad put everything on her, and when she left, it fell to me. Carry on the torch. I gave up everything that was me, to be Alaska...to be what he wanted. And only she understood." She took his hug tightly, enjoying the comfort of another warm being.
"I see her Tuck, I see her everyday." Nevada's heart broke a little, thinking of the podded twin. "But she doesn't see me. She's the only one that ever saw me. And hope is only getting me so far..." She was part of the Island but she wasn't. She didn't have anyone that saw her like Alaska did. Roland had been her first friend....and she liked him. But he didn't see her like Alaska did.
"A secret?" Something hopeful and yet terrifying arose in her. She could have this moment, keep it between herself and Tuck. It wouldn't hurt if no one knew about it? Roland wouldn't get hurt if they kept it to themselves.
She tilted her head back, pursuing her lips.
"Tonight...." She bit her lip, her heart aching and yet soaring because of what she was going to do. "Tonight, I want you to see me, through the eyes of a lover.... Tomorrow, Be my friend." She looked at him, "And after that, we keep it a secret. Because I am a terrible woman."
